Well, boy, I'll tell you everything that you've been talking about for years on so many levels. Thank god for bulletproof vests, right, yes, sir, Yeah, thank god that the officer was. And of course it's tough when you get hit from I haven't been, I've not gone through that experience, but everybody I've spoken with says it's not fun. But at least I'm alive.

0:56 It'll leave you a good bruise to knock you down for a second. But of course I've had a couple of guys that were with me that I mean big guys. Quite frankly, they didn't realize they'd been hit. The life for the easue was over, so it depends on how much adoreurnaline you got pumping three you at the time. Bill, Well, Uh, let's let's explain to the audience what happened. Uh how I mean, there's a lot to be said about how great a job the security did, but I mean, this is almost a near impossible task to protect the president in a hotel like the Hilton, which is the scene of a crime, and uh an attempted assassination of a previous president.

1:38 It's correct. And in this particular situation which you have, Bill is of course you know you had the Correspondence Center by invitational and of course there's a check. This is what we're trying to figure out, getting some more information. I''m gonna check our records. There's a check death. First, you got to come in and say I'm Bill Martinez, and they check you against the roster, make sure you have a ticket, to make sure you know you're on the invited guest list. You then proceed from there to the screening process, which you go through the metal detectors. Uh, you know, the waving of the wands if anything happens to go off, and just so they'll patch you down off there suspicious if you were in a heavy jacket or something and they want to make sure they cut everything.

2:20 He got through the initial uh, not the screening process, but he got through somehow. He was on that either on that register or they didn't check it very well, because he got through the first stage and went to go into the screening process, and instead of stepping up to go into the metal detector, he decided to become a sprint runner. And he was like a flash like flash gordon. Around it, and he was drawing his weapon at the same time he was sprinting around it. Now he had a shotgun, he had a handgun, he had a couple of knives that we've been able to detect so far. He was going reaching for his pulling out the handgun, and of course Secret Service immediately saw a gun pulled to stop him apprehending, and we started to pull their weapons.

3:12 He shot the one that was in front of him. He was in a uniform, Secret Service uniform with a ballistic vest on, hit him in the chest, knocked him, spun him a little bit, and uh, he's able to blow right by him. Then by then a contingency had moved in on him and tackled him to the ground. We're able to restrain him without having to shoot back at him. But they did fire initially, there were rounds that were fired. He did fire as well, and so there was gunfire exchange. He fired off five rounds that appears at the stage. Once we got him pinned down, of course, you know immediately this is protocol. See, this is the difference between when you have people allowed to do their job, a job like Sean is Shawn's course director.

3:55 And you remember before we had the issue in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, when they weren't communicating with each other, they weren't allowed they'd seen a gun, nobody bothered to radio it in et cetera. This situation, of course, the media he has, he pulls, and before he draws and begins to shoot, the command is issue gun into the intercom system. That immediately kicks into motion protocol which you saw sudden there there was a move by the agent's inside the room along with you know, the Special Task Force tactical forces immediately moved onto the diocese and you know, we removed the president and along with everybody else, and the course came back in and got his members as well, that's how it's supposed to work, you know, and you saw really what you saw last night was secret service where he used to be back on top of things, handling things correctly. You say, is there anything else that could have done differently? Not really, Bill, That one issue that I'm raising is, you know, how do they get through the first checkpoint. We'll find that out. Could have, but he just actually blew it off. He ran right by it, ran straight up towards you know, the metal detectors, and just kept on running. But we'll get all that pinned down shortly. Here's some interesting facts about him, you know, is that, of course he's a RACI or Democratic. I mean, that doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is he's a teacher in California. He said, why would you bring his vocation? Bill? We've known for some time. I think we discussed it on your show. Our educational system is

5:28 extremely liberal. These are the people that are teaching our kids. Yeah, and that's very problematic when you think about it. I mean, not only are they liberal, but they're violent, and they're the ones they're teaching our kids what they're supposed to be thinking, how they're supposed to be learning. That's that's a problem. Bill, Well, did you read the manifesto, Mike, did you get a chance to read or did Yeah? He hates it all, doesn't he? Yeah, he sure does. But you know, getting back to the fact that he's a teacher, but he's he's not even teaching the truth. No, that's great the things he said about Donald Trump based on what evidence can you make these claims? I mean, it's one thing to say, hey, I don't like the guy for whatever reason and all that stuff, But to claim that Donald Trump's a pedophile?

6:10 Where has there been anything to corroborate and confirm that Donald Trump's a pedophile? There has And of course here's one of the biggest concerns we're talking about the occupation. You know, what's going on in the educational system. They don't care about teaching truth anymore. They don't care about teaching history. They care about you simply rewriting and giving the vantage board of what they want you to understand and to be coming to learn. And we know for a fact, I mean, look at the teacher's union. The people that are leading the unions, right, these people are just absolutely you talk about activists, Bill those people are violent, hateful activists. That's what's in charge of our children's education system. Now, it's no wonder why we have people that are willing to deact this way and do these kind of violent acts for its people they don't agree with. That's got to stop.

6:56 Well, the Teachers' Union is so you know, so wedded to the Democratic Party, correct that anything that is against the Democratic Party threatens their livelihood. So for them it is kind of life and death right. You know, if a Republican is in office and they threaten you know, any kind of look see because of some alleged fraud or because you know, they want to indoctrinate our kids and not teach them reading, writing, arithmetic, It's like, whoa wait a minute. You know you're on hallow ground there, and you're gonna you're going to pay a price for this now now you're an adversary. Yeah, an amazing how hypocritical they are. Bill.

7:36 The reason why I say that is because conservatives are always what white supremacts that are violent. That's you know, the worst cheeria of all the trouble. But yeah, I challenge you to show me one violent episode of conservative I can show you handfuls of those on the other side that they have used violence on the liberal side. But this is why the news is so careful to call through when they report, uh, they always try to find some sort of conservative spin when there isn't any. You know, it's kind of even going back to the Tradeon Martin deal, he was a white Hispanic. You know, all the framing by the liberal media is all part and parcel of this false narrative that's put out there to get people to believe and influence, you know, teachers and the liberal left to think that they have a just cause.

Now, actually he's not white, he's actually black. Okay, like skin colored, but he's actually you know, all black. But why do they immediately go to white Because they immediately assumed that because they've been doing their pushing propaganda for so long that when you say the word white, you automatically assume that's a white supremacist, which is exactly what they're trying to convey. Michael Uh, just as you were saying, the media narrative, boy, anytime that they can, you know, bend the reporting in such a way, you know, as you said, for this perpetrator, initially he was reported as being white and then oh he's black. But you know, they rarely do they come back and say, hey, we've got to correct the record or anything like this, right, They just kind of find some sort of soft way to ameliate the false, you know, the falsity of their earlier statements. But what they do, but is exactly what you said. They say he's white and then they'll find out he was black. They don't even say he was black, he just he was white. And you know, let you find out on your own that they made a mistake. You notice they don't want to talk about it. His profession, they don't want to talk about he the fact he's a teacher. That makes him look bad as well. So we'll just pick what we can out of here to minimize, you know, its appearance that he's part of a leftist liberal cause, and we'll try to report as little as possible.

But now wear the other shoe bill, and as you suggested, had that been Barack Obama and had it been a white sailing, my goodness, the headlines for the next month would have been conservative of white supremacists, racist white supremacists, you know, tries to attack you know, our beloved president. You don't see that being happening all. In fact, I don't see the anywhere in terms of the media and the Correspondence Center really going out of their way to say, you know, this rhetoric that we've been talking about how bad the president is and how divisive he is, and then he's so negative, we should do something about it, he should be removed from office. We don't take any responsibility how that rhetoric may have helped promote and gain cause to put there of the circumstances to cause this man don't want to do what he did. You don't see that being said.

Let me ask you this, what do you say about secret service that has remained unfunded for over seventy days in counting, and that includes of course DHS as well in the unfunding. Thank you very much, Congress, at a time when our country is under so much threat, whether it's you know, could be some sleeping cells relevant to what's going on in Iran, what happened last night. I mean, these guys put their life on the line here and they're not getting paid, Michael. Two pold bill. They're not getting paid, and they're not getting their equipment updated. And so you know, a lot of these agents have been calling me personally. They're not even being issued the protective vest, the bulletproof vest, the actor shooter vest that is required in their line of work, and yet they're willing to go out there and put their lives on the line without being probably protected, as you said, not being paid because you know, there's no money in the budget for their salaries, and not being given the protective equipment that they need. To be able to come home safe with their families. Truly, it's a indication of how strong the patriotism runs in this country for people who want to do the right thing. And contrary to what mainstream media would tell you, Bill, law enforcement is an honorable profession. It takes special people that are willing to put their lives on the line to protect their fellowman and their communities, and they should be honored for it isstead of being disparaged like they are

Well, our new Secretary of Homeland Security, Mark Wayne Mullen, responded very aggressively towards Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer when he made such a goofy statement saying that you know, people you know don't respect nobody in the US. He says, respects immigration and Customs enforcement and the US border control. I think it's so ironic about the statement Bill is. I think is exactly opposite. I think the vast majority of Americans appreciate the fact that somebody's willing to arrest illegals, not just the fact they're illegal, but they're criminally legal.

17:53 But how the world I hadn't figured that out, Bill, Why would anybody want to keep a rapist or murderer who's here illegally, But why would even if they were here illegally, why would you want to keep them to begin with? That makes sense to me because they have to be right. Mike, Yeah, you're exactly right. It's not about they just have to be right, and and they figure as long as they keep, you know, purporting the lie that sooner or later, people are going to give it. Look what happened now, I mean yeah, I think initially when you talk to people and said, look at if you cross the border illegal, are you illegal? Most people would respond yes. But now because of the pounding of the media and these elected officials saying, well, you know, it's you're not really illegal if you're undocumented or you know, they just kind of homogenize that idea of illegality. But what happens is illegality breeds illegality, right, it doesn't just stop there.

They want you to think all illegal immigrants now are the same way as the immigrants one hundred years ago that came across VI. A vote underneath the statue of liberty. They think they're all the same. No, they came back then, we still had the same requirements and they fulfilled the requirements and became citizens. Now they don't come via boat. They just they crossed the river or find any other port of entry they can get in without being detected. And that's how they come in, not vetted. We knew who they were when they were coming over before. We don't know who they are now. Bill, Yeah, exactly. Well, when you let in twenty million plus that have been unvetted on so many levels, I mean, you're bringing in diseases that our country hasn't been exposed to for decades. You're reintroducing that into the community. You've got.

Don't have to worry about it anymore. Yeah, look at the crime rate, Look at the data there their crime rate dramatic. He went down and ours went up. Thank you very much, Joe Biden, and America needs to understand who's responsible for this and who's responsible for trying to clean this up in the midst of dealing with these activist judges that continue to block the efforts of this administration for our safety.

They are having a heyday trying before the election to do everything they can to make you think that the policies of this administration have to be bad, that the person using those policies. II. President Trump is deranged, something's wrong with him. You know, his medical capacities are all over there. They're doing everything they can to undermine what's working. I did see them going after Joe Biden when they thought his mental capacities weren't there because they loved his policies of allowing ilegal immigrants are in, you know, and making sure that they determined our future. Why is there legal limigrants so important? They use it for the voting issue, of course that's coming out now, bill, but voting in fraud.

21:04 Yes, look at how much money they stole from the taxpayer. Michael, and then that's why they went nuts when Elon Musk started looking into the checkbook and seeing all the fraud that was going on. And I believe, I believe he's right. I think we could have easily found a trillion dollars, and that's why they were going nuts. No, you're exactly right, But Bill, I didn't think it's hired and that I think we can find multiple creer it's probably five to ten trillion dollars. In fact, I believe that the majority of the deficit that we occur now, because remember it's not just a deficit, is the interest that is going on with it those payments has been caused by fraud. If we didn't have fraud, Bill, I doobt we'd have a deficit at the stage. Well, I've talked to many economists, Michael, and I said, tell me of that thirty nine trillion that we're in debt that we're counting. I mean, there's more than that, but this is what we're talking about here in front of us, thirty nine trillion dollars. How much of that is tied to vote getting? And they said probably all of it.

22:00 Oh, I would agree. There's no question that that is is not fraudulent, is being used to buy votes. So it's it's a combination been fraud and buying votes. How do they buy votes? They bring them in illegally. Then they say, you know, you stick with us. You don't even have to worry about who you believe were just sign the or we really have to just sign it. We're just going to use your name and put it on a ballot and we'll stop it for you and we'll decide what we're going to do with it from that point on. And then in return, we'll give you free housing, we'll give you free food, you know, you name it. They get it, and yet our veterans built. What happens to them? They get put underath the bridge somewhere for having sacrifice for their country. Yeah, exactly. Well. The disgusting additional part of this, Michael, is part of that money goes to the politician to their election question.

22:47 And that's why these guys are getting these ladies are getting so wealthy in a short period of time on a salary of one hundred and seventy thousand dollars a year. It's a vicious cycle. I was just on a show before and they were asking me that same question you raised, and it's really it's yes, Democrats, but we have some rhinos, We have some establishable product that's doing the same thing. They have learned how to creat NGOs, how to fund those injurs to our dollars, tax dollars, and those injuries, turning around and give it back to them in campaign contributions, are actually paying them to serve on their boards. And that's how they're making such a killing. And nobody wants to give that up. If you're taking that kind of corruption, and you're corrupt to begin with, you surely don't want to give it up, which is why you've seen it so difficult to get things passed by this administration in Congress.

23:35 We have such a corrupt Congress, it's just difficult to do. Bill Well, that's the scary part of this whole situation, Michael, is this great American idea that we're going to be celebrating two hundred and fifty years here very shortly, has been corrupted. And it concerns me gravely because it is, you know, what's hanging in the balance here is the continuation of the United States of America as we hoped it could be. No, You're exactly right. And it's not just Congress, it's the executive branch. I mean former members of the executive branch of Obama, his whole administration, whether it's Brennan, whether it's Coming, you know, you name it. They've all been involved with the corruption, with stealing from the treasury, and even our judiciary is down in the middle of it.

24:23 So what is the solution? I think our forefollowers put that in our constitution. We have two final cards as far as I'm concerned, Bill, we either established a military tribunals. I'm not saying we replace our judicial system with military tribunals, but we start with a few that will break the back yes, this corruption, because once what you notice about criminals is there's no integrity among them. They try on each other faster than a jack rabbit does. Once we start with a few like say, you know the Obama administration, what it did, a few judges that have totally disregarded the law and people and members of cong Well, does they start seeing people going into handcuffs. It's amazing how fast that crime syndicate will collapse. And that's what we need to do. Of course, if we don't do that bill, then, I believe the only optional left is what we had in seventeen seventy six. We know what that is.

29:01 We're talking with doctor George Barnet, director of research in Arizona Christian University's Cultural Research Center and author of Raising Spiritual Champions. And then, you know, speaking of the Old Testament, some people look at the Old Testament. He was like David and to say, you know, here's a guy who kills his body to get his wife. And but yet God says, here's a man after my own heart. Commits adultery, has sex with prostitutes. I mean he, you know, kills people, does all kinds of things that we was. He's disqualified, he's out of here. And then the Lord comes back and graciously shows us no, no, no, he's a man after my own heart. And it wasn't because he was rape and pillaging. It was because he was repenting and praying and crying and weeping over his own sin and recognizing who he was in the presence of a holy, righteous God and begging God continually, you know, forgive me. One of the things that that so struck me.

Yeah, and you know, I look at that and I'm so moved by that sincerity. It breaks my heart because I know I'm not there, but I got to get there exactly. And I can relate, you know, to being throwing yourself prostate, you know, before a holy God and then declaring against THEE and THEE only have I sinned?

30:52 The research and I look at what people think about sin. It is sad and it's frightening. In fact, we've got two percent of Americans who believe that when they die they're going to Hell. And then when I look at the profile of their life that we have through the research, I'm not God. I can't judge them. I don't want to judge them. God's going to gug. God knows their heart. That's odd. That's what I always say, He knows our heart. So yeah, but you know, I look at the profile and I think if I were to guess, I would say a lot more than two percent are probably not going to wind up in God's eternal presence. And it's because they don't have this mindset of who God is.

31:37 In this particular study, you know, we look at things like what people believe about God, and we only got about four out of ten Americans who believe in the God of the Bible, that he exists, that he's holy and righteous, that he's just and merciful, that he still rules the world today, but that he still expects us to live within the bad he set for us, that we cannot save ourselves. We've got a majority of people in America who think Jesus when he was on earth, they'll they'll buy the notion he was both human and divine. But because of that, they're saying, and therefore he was a sinner. It's like, what are you thinking. Read the book again, He who was without no sin, bore our sin, you know, and so, oh gosh, there is so much that we've got to learn. And you know, here we are in this Easter season. I'm thinking, people, this is the time, you know, get motivated. See him on the cross, see him rising from the cross, see him coming back to his apostles and followers and giving them those final words, you know, one of which is go make disciples, which means you've got to be the first one. You've got to be a disciple before you can make other people into disciples through the Holy Spirit. And so, man, what a great time of year this is.

It will have been out because it comes out on Friday, April to third. And it's the story of George Whitfield and Benjamin Franklin the Great Awakening, uh, the initial great Awakening that ignited uh, you know, the American Revolution. Uh. It is a phenomenal story put together by the folks Joshua ank who's become a friend over the years involved with SIT and Sound. They've got two grand facilities, uh, one in Pennsylvania, one in Branson, Missouri, where they do these theatrical biblical reenactments and stories that are just beautiful.

And I and as josh and I were talking, I immediately, you know, flashed back to because here, you know, Benjamin Franklin was a publisher, right, it was a printer. He's printing. Uh, he's got a printing press going on there in Pennsylvania, and he promotes Whitfield because it's good for business, right, And I flashed to Randolph hearst and Billy Graham, because that's what Randolph Hirst did with Billy Graham. I did puff Graham, yes, right, yeah, yeah.

I've actually flown back to Pennsylvania three times just to see their live plays. They're phenomenal. They're great. I love them. And yeah, so I'm excited. I didn't know about this, So I'm excited to hear about this. Well good, well you'll you'll enjoy it. It will bless you. The storyline and Whitfield's commitment, I mean, his passion to pursue Christ Georgia, like you and I were talking about. You know, we get here and we try, and you know, the thing is, we do it in our own human you know power, trying to you know, create our own Babel, you know, tower of Babel and trying to reach up to the heavens. And it's so silly. And this is why we read. Whenever we do things like that, that God laughs. But you know, nonetheless, you know we're knuckleheads.

37:09 He still loves us in spite of that. And Whitfield does this and it's brought out in the movie that he doesn't eat for forty days. He's a mess. He doesn't come out of his room. You know, they finally, you know, they break into his room and get him out of there, and they're thinking, oh God, this place smells terrible. It's awful. But it was his own human I mean, he almost died, died in the process, but you know, God loved him through it and he survived. And here he goes. I mean he really, he really got serious with God, and God elevated his faith and revealed things to him that was so important that he carried out. And here he is coming to the Americas and saying wake up, oh sleep or wake up right.

37:53 And you know, Whitfield works so closely with John Wesley, who's one of my heroes of the faith. When I read their stories of what they did, and you know, today we would look at what they went through just to speak the gospel, preach the gospel to people and we think, wow, that's pretty extreme. It's like, no, that's what we're all supposed to be doing. I mean, that's the life. That's what it's about. And you know, so much of it goes back to what do you think your purpose on life is? Right? You know, it's not just to have all the goodies. I mean, it's really to promote Christ. It's to get other people to live that life to where you're wedded to Jesus. Yeah, so this is going to be exciting.

If you're going to have the time, that needs people outside the church coming to christ having that deeper relationship. We put on a lot of great revival events, but the problem is we need renewal within the church, the body of believers first, so that when people come to us and say, Wow, this is exciting, this is interesting. I don't know what to make of it. What do I do. They've got to be able to look at us and see us model the Jesus life right And part of the issue that we've got in the church right now, where when I look at all this research and look at the church to people alone, if I just study them, I see that we're not believing in sin.

43:56 We're not believing there's much impact of sin on our lives. We're thinking, and this is tens of millions of people who are regularly going to Christian churches saying Jesus isn't the only way, Christianity isn't the only real true faith. You know, things like this, and I'm thinking, oh my gosh, Lord, don't let the mission fuel come into the church. We're not ready for it, z. You know, it'll be like nine to eleven again, Like you mentioned earlier, nine to eleven came the churches. You know, the doors were swung open, and it was only it was it was about a three week experience, George. Yeah, well, yeah, four, five, six weeks, depending on the portion of the country, the types of churches. There were a lot of different variables we saw. Okay, it can last a little bit longer in these environments, but it never lasts permanently. And I think it's because we need this renewal taking place in the church so that revival can stick. And again, now the theologians are going to jump on me and say, oh, you don't trust the Holy Spirit. I do trust the Holy Spirit. Do trust God.

45:00 God knows what he's doing right. Problem is, you know, he's using fallible people to do some of his work here. And we've got to get our act together. We've got to show now we've been revived, you know exactly, that's what that renewal is. Well, and the Bible says we could look at the fruit, right, you look at the tree, the fruit of the tree, and it is it is it really indicating true revival, because when you look, I always go to you know, what happened in Nineva Geordan, you know, and how critical leadership was. If the king himself, I believe, had not led the way. Yes, the people kind of started to get it, and there was a little bit of an organic grounds. Well, but what really tipped the tables when the king got it and he's tearing his clothes and he's saying, hey, set cloth for everybody, including the animals. Right, there's something a pattern here, a model, and that this is not I mean, although right now you can look at America and say, well, we have a president in the White House who talks about God, who exemplifies some godly principles. Again understanding he's a humanoid like the rest of us. But I'm just kind of in anticipation. If I can say this and you're in trouble, I might as well get in trouble. We'll be on the same boat.

46:21 Come on on board. But as yeah, I'm happy to do it, you know, because I'm used to it, and I believe this is what God has brought me into this and given me this platform to do. But you have to speak truth to the matter, and my prayer is is that our leaders would see the revival and react to it and rent their clothes and prostrate themselves before a holy God and really ignite, you know, another great awakening. As Charles Finney said, you know, a revival happens when it's most needed. And as you cited these blemishes that are about America right now, I think. We pretty much need it well and are so if you're trying to get in trouble, I'm gonna one up you here and I'm gonna I'm.

47:04 Gonna take that trouble and I'm gonna add to it. Okay, You're gonna multiply it, buddy, here's Billy George one more time. Okay, Yeah, this man knows nothing. So you know, recently, Franklin Graham was good enough to send a note to President Trump saying, you know, I heard you talking about these things, and you said you're not sure if you're going to get into heaven. Let me tell you. If you just trust Jesus, you know, confess your sins and trust Jesus, You're gonna be fine, I promise you. And you know he said more than that. But those were some things, especially in there right, and I read that I love Franklin, and it's like, praise God that Franklin's got the boldness to do that. And I mean, he did it. I didn't, so kudos to him.

47:50 But I'm just worried that nowhere in that message did it say anything about repentance. And so I'm thinking, Okay, yes, we want people to believe in Jesus and to trust him, but part of that proof that you're making that commitment is that you've said, okay, And the reason I have to trust Jesus is I'm a sinner, and so I don't want to keep sinning. I've got to change my behavior so that I don't keep sinning. That's what repentance is. I love Jesus, I'm going to trust him and to prove it, I'm going to change my life. I just wish some of that had been in that message as well.

48:34 See, and I think what your studies indicate here is that the culture doesn't realize how sick it is. It is accommodated sin in such a way. You know, we think of it in terms of a venial consequence, if we can put it back in Catholic terms, but not realizing that any sin offends God, a holy God. And when we get to that position, God willing and by the grace of the Holy Spirit, help the world because there would be an ignition of repentance and revival that would take place that would make all the other revivals pale and significance. If I might say, I think. A great test for each of us to go through is to recognize that America, spiritually speaking, has become comfortable with sin. Yeah, and so a great test for each of us is to sit down in a time of reflection and meditation before God, ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten each of us. Enlighten me, you know, for myself.

49:37 Forget the rest of the world. They've got their problems. Absolutely, I'll pray for them. I'll help them. Like man, I got to deal with me, and Holy Spirit, please help me to see what sins am I comfortable with? One? Am I letting go and say, well, yeah, that's not as bad as this sin over here. And I'm never going to do that. Yeah, but I'm going to turn a blind eye to this. I'm not going to talk to those people. I'm going to make the feel good about the you know, what are the sins that I am letting go of and say it's not worth fighting over. We have this mentality and I use this phrase a lot. You got to choose your battles. But we've got to be careful when we're talking about sin, that we don't see sin that way. That there are some sin battles that aren't worth fighting frankly, because it offends God and it builds a wall of separation between us and that Holy God. Exactly, every sin is worth fighting over, exactly.

50:34 You know, it reminds me this season I have been highly engaged with the Hallow app, you know, one of the fastest growing, you know, prayer apps, which says a tremendous story the background of Alex Jones, not the Alex Jones, the political commentator, but Alex Jones, this young man who was in pursuit of God and you know, kind of a similar story to mine, that God and his grace and mercy allowed us to you know, venture out and discover other religions in search of God and philosophies and everything. And his background he had engagement and meditations with other philosophies and that and when he looked at Christianity and Catholicism.

51:21 He goes, we don't have that, and so he created the hollow app and of course his family said, what are you nuts? You know this isn't going to work. But anyways, said, just a tremendous success story. But one of the recurring themes of this Lenten season has been God empty me, God filmed me. God use me, God empty me. God filmed me. God use me, God empty me, God filmed me, God use me. Kind of what you're saying is that you've got to pour yourself out. And in pouring yourself out and emptying yourself, then it's taking all that muck and mired things that we don't know, those hidden sins. The Bible talks about these things that we think are of no consequence. But you're asking the Holy Spirit come and empty me, purify me, get it all out, and then fill me with those things that are right, noble and good and holy.

52:10 Right, that's a beautiful thing. And now again not to be a hammer, you know, seeing everything as a nail. But you know, I come back to the research and when you say that, one of the things that pops into my mind is the fact that most Americans don't believe the Holy Spirit is real. We think the Holy Spirit is a symbol of God's power or presence or purity, but not a living entity that can affect our lives. And so that's an important first hurdle to get over, is that we allow the third person of the Trinity, that portion of the Godhead, to be real to us and to affect our lives in a very significant way.

52:55 When we cut God off from our lives by saying that I don't believe that part of the exacts, that's a serious offense against God right. There, exactly. Yeah, So it's something that God says is the most worst thing you could do of all the sins, is blespheming the Holy Spirit. The Spirit. Yeah, right, you got it exactly. When you think about the Holy Spirit, I always say, you know, we have to return to our origins, to the beginnings, and open up in Genesis one and you see the Triune God, the Holy Spirit himself hovering over the void and the chaos, right yeah, yeah, and you think you think his job's done now and that he doesn't exist. Yeah. And one of the great things about it is if you've got the eye for it, you can see the Holy Spirit all through every every chapter, every every book in the Bible. And you know, I mean, like you say, you see it in Genesis one and you go all the way through to Revelation at Man, the spirit's having a home coming there. Yeah.

53:57 Well, uh, doctor George is always thank you so much for coming on. You know, we're united in prayer that we would all, starting with us, become very serious about sin and that and this is a personal thing that we would do with God, and that God would search our hearts. And because you know, whatever you want to get there, if it's you know, repentance, revival, it's God's will to be done. And that's what we want manifest, is God's will to be done, and that may we be agents of God's will right to promote it to others. Yeah. I've often told people when they say, you know, do you have a business card, and they say, well, here's the one from the organization, but my personal business card, says George Barna Agent of Transformation. I love it because that's what I live for, is to see that happen. Well.

We planted two beautiful urban farms. We gave people support when they were down and out. We helped people with food and living cans. We put a police two police officers rent fee rent free in a house and crime went down precipitously. But the leadership, able Mabel Thomas, the state representative, she was a thorn in our side from the day that we got there. And the Anthony Motley, the preacher of the Lindsay Street Baptist Church, said, you know, just don't pay her any attention. But she tried to undermine us at every turn. And I asked my friend, the late Ivory Young, who was the city councilman representing that district, what is the matter with these people? Yeah,

59:41 that's my question exactly, he said, John. They are the poverty pimps. They don't want the neighborhood to change because it's their power base. They and they've got them as a captive and they don't want to lose that. John, the hell of that? And yeah, we see, you're making my point that I made earlier. I may have used the wrong word, and I apologize for that, but but see to me, when you were anti American and anti uh humans, it is evil and uh and I hate to put it in those start of terms because you know, like you said, I mean here they are you know, they're they're pimping things out for their own, their own interest, and not the interests of the people that are suffering there.

1:00:29 Yes, that and that that is a fact I've happened to. And the distinction that I was making is between the residents and their leadership. Yes, and the leadership is not well, they are popularly elected and they're not. But that's a whole other conversation. But the fact is that you would think that people coming into the neighborhood wanting to help, that they would be warmly received. I received a very nice award. In twenty thirteen, seven years after showing up there, from Cox Media Group and the Trust for Public Land, and they awarded us the twenty thirteen Heroes Award. It's probably the nicest thing that's ever happened to me, one of the in terms of an award. And we serendipitously had a fundraiser at the Lindsay Street Baptist Church, which is sort of at the nexus of the neighborhood the following day, and when I showed up there, there were ten people on the sidewalk across the street picketing me, saying, rich Buckhead go home. And we were there to help. We did not have an agenda, and the leader of the opposition was mad because we would not give her a consulting fee. I said, no, we don't pay consulting fees.

1:01:57 So she became our enemy. Or off. But I don't need to buy somebody off, and we're they're trying to do good. I'm not going to buy everybody off anyway under anything. Like you're saying, though, John, this is this is kind of the order of the day in in things like this. Unfortunately, whether it's uh, you know, the said, uh, yeah, Reverend Jesse Jackson, what do you do? He really was at the uh at the origins of this kind of uh holding corporate America hostage. And if they wanted to have a you know, a black housekeeping seal of approval, then they went to Jesse Jackson. Uh. They'd pay him three four million dollars and keep him quiet, and uh he'd kind of hold everybody else at bay because he was the one that was pulling the strings there, right.

I visited them in their homes, They came to our events, they helped clean up the streets. We and we had a summer job program for a number of years where we just cleaned up. We removed tons of debris, discarded tires that they threw in a ditch, and all this stuff. The point I'm trying to get to, I love those people. They were grateful, they were kind spirited, they were good. They just got borned into bad circumstances.

I think it's largely manufactured, and I think it's largely manufactured by the pimps who want to keep us in turmoil. A law the Southern Poverty Law Center, who have now been outed paying millions of dollars to the klu Klux Klan, who they're supposed to be the enemies of and other hate groups, and they want to stir this racial division because Without it, they lose their identity and their purpose for surviving and raising the tens of millions of dollars Exactly, I've been able to hoodwink people into giving them one hundred and fifty million, I think for the Southern Poverty Law Center, And it's a lie.

So you have to realize that when you are disrespecting a position of authority, your parent, mother or father, your pastor, your priest, your mayor, your school teacher, your coach, the president of the United States.

I'm lucky for us we get to talk about it. It's about America's restoration, how fayfamily and personal sacrifice can heal our nation. Tim, welcome back, Good to have you with us. It's really great to be with you. Bill, Thanks so much. Well. Your book is so appropriate right now, because it would appear America has lost its way, and of course with recent evidence as the rhetoric politically continues to ramp up. You, of course, were involved eight years in the Bush administration, and you never experienced anything quite like what we're experiencing under the Trump administration. The attacks, trumped arrangements, syndrome, the division of our country. Gosh, I don't want to say like never before, because we had the Civil War and we were very divided then. Actually, right the answers.

1:38:38 We've been very polarized at many chapters of American history, Bill, But what is different now is that the polarization is I think broadly defined as polarization of things of the spirit. In other words, even in the era of the American Revolution, even in the era of the Civil War, and those are just two of many examples, there were underlying unification views with regard to worldview, and I think that that really matters. But what really matters now is the impact of all of this, and that's why I've given the book that title. The impact on marriage, the impact on children, the impact on parental rights, the impact on human life.

Yes, you know, in my role Bill as one of the vice presidents that focus on the family, I travel all the time, even though I live and work here in Washington and have for nearly forty years. And in the academic year, I'm on a different college campus every week or every other week. Harvard, Princeton, Yale, AZUSA, Pacific, the Concordias, Liberty, Hillsdale, I mean, the absolute gamut. And I'll tell you, for all of the different polarizing points in American history, I think it's important to remember that in many quarters of America, you can say something like marriage is a really good thing, having children is a really good thing. Organizing your life around your faith and religion is a really good thing. And in many places in our beloved country, people don't know what you're talking about,

And now we have the lowest marriage rates in American history, we have the lowest fertility rates in American history. But on the other hand, with all those sobering statistics, bill at the same time, there are silver linings. And I'm an inveterate optimist, and my book What Really Matters goes to the heart of not just the sobering statistics, but also the way toward American restoration. Tim in your book, it's not like you're sharing theory. I mean you're sharing empirical evidence. I mean, look at the history. You know, we're about to celebrate two hundred and fifty years of this great American idea. Well, look at the solid evidence. And I can understand why these young kids feel that they've been, you know, put through the ringer and back. And I want to say to them.

Yeah, and I think the answer to that is the most important and the largest historical question. And what really matters doesn't just offer an analysis of where we're at, but it says, here's the way forward. And I want to share one of those major silver linings, Bill, that I think really matters, because in the demographic of American men ages eighteen to thirty, of a sudden, when they are asked, they say they want to be married, they want to have children, they want to have a stable, continuous life rooted in their faith and in religion. Now, what's very interesting, Bill, is that the same demographic of American young women, aspirationally they say the same that eventually they want to be married, eventually they want to have children.

1:42:50 But here is the chasm point, the chasm point too often, Bill, is that we have millions of what I would call unmarriageable men. They are young, bright, smart, otherwise, but presently they're not working, they're not looking for a job, they're not in school, they're not seeking to be in school. And young women who want to be married, say, look, a relationship is just fine. But if this is not leading to the kind of man who can support my family and support me, if we have children, a man who's going to be very responsible as a father, these things really matter. And so I think we have a dating recession, we have a relationship recession, and the church is uniquely qualified I believe to directly address things like that and what really matters. I have all kinds of recommendations.

1:43:44 I hope that the book is a tool bill in our toolbox. Well, what really matters, you say, recommendations, Let's just highlight the top three. Yeah, I think the first one is one that I just alluded to a moment ago. You know, faith without works is dead, and I think it's very important that we restress, as I do, in what really matters the central foundation or role of the church. The church is just not a gathering of fellowship and goodwill. We want it to be that, but it is also rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that means that it's not a spectator sport. We have got to engage the rising generation and have a plan in our faith community.

1:44:32 So that's number one. Number two, and I think this is equally important here in Washington, DC. Bill, we have all kinds of ways of disincentivizing marriage, disincentivizing children, and I think we have to stop that, and I think we have a plan. Those of us that focus on the family are very pleased with many of the pro family policies from our friends at the Heritage Foundation. And there are all kinds of things we can do to an incentivize marriage, incentivize having children and raising them responsibly. And the third thing, which I think is very important is education. You know, setting aside government and public schools, school choice, charter schools, you know, homeschooling, there is a huge swath en role for those schools.

1:45:20 Well exactly. First, let's talk about faith. Some people might say, well, that's it's a little bit ethereal you know, what is faith and I share with people all the time is faith is really it's a gift from God, and that's where it begins. So if you're not there to receive God and the gift and the benefits that He has to offer, you're going to miss out. So step one, you're already behind the egg ball. Right. I couldn't agree more, And in fact, I want to share this if I may, I at my role that focus on the family. I am involved in many America two fifty celebration points this year, but the most important one that I'm aware of just concluded. On Saturday, America reads the Bible, and people can go online and take a look at the foundational importance of the Bible. We read the Bible all the way through across one full week.

1:46:20 Here in Washington. On May seventeenth, we are having a million plus America Birthday party on the Mall. We're doing it early May seventeenth because that's the historic date of the importance of prayer and reconciliation in our nation, and we are inviting people from all fifty states to come to Washington, come to the mall that day and be a part of that day of prayer and reconciliation. It's so important in the history of our country. So those are just some of the America two fifty things, in addition to all kinds of things that families can do together in my view, to re educate themselves in the best sense about the purpose of the country. And the whole foundation is based on the Judaeic Christian founding principle and we have to remind ourselves that if we don't have religious liberty, if faith and freedom do not go together here, it doesn't go together anywhere America.

1:47:21 Reading the Bible was such an act of faith and honor and yes and praise to God Almighty. I was invited. Unfortunately my schedule was a conflict, so we ended up reading a couple of chapters in solidarity for what happened last week and for the Book of Roman, so you know, and we were encouraging our audience to tune in, and of course we were blessed that even President Trump got in the act, right he did. President Trump did, the Speaker of the House, a number of Cabinet members, members of the House and Senate. It was a real hit. It took place at the Museum of the Bible, and I think that it doesn't need to stop there. I've been on that board. Christians engaged in Family of Policy Alliance for a very long time.

1:48:07 But the beautiful thing about that is that it goes on in the world that we are in. We are very eager for people in all fifty states to help rededicate our country to those first principles. And it seems to me that, Bill, when you ask that beautiful question about what we can actually do, And by the way, that's the whole point of my book What Really Matters? What can we do? I think the biggest thing we can do is to pray for our country. I really believe that prayer, targeted prayer, praying specifically for the restoration, the regeneration, the renewal of our constitutional republic is very important.

I mean, and I understand some people, you know, resist the idea and thinking our faith is formulaic, but you know it's there for a reason. And if you do what God says, will be blessed the way God intends to bless us. Your book, What Really Matters, Restoring the legacy of Faith, Freedom and Family now available right Tim.
