Six minutes after the top of the hour. Right now Bill Martinez here with the one and only krovinrqwits the President of Americans Tax for former America's pre eminent center right expert on taxes. Mister Grober, how are we doing. I'm doing well. Good to be with you, Bill. Always good to have this time to check on things, especially it just seems like more and more all things California these days. As you ride California, voters may soon decide whether to impose a one time five percent wealth tax on billionaires.

0:45 Should the rest of us be worried? Well, if you live in one of the states the eight states with no income tax, you will likely get more billionaires, high tech people, people who create wealth move to your state, bringing jobs with them if you live in California. Just by saying they're thinking about it, this legislation has not passed. It will be on the ballots. Got enough signatures now, they say, and it sounds right that it will be on the November ballot. The governor had said he opposes it, Will he really spend money against it? Will the left politicians go, we shouldn't show our hand this soon. We should shut up and pretend we aren't for this stuff. My guess is that it may well pass, although there's going to be a competing measure on the ballot which may defeat it. But the fact that it was discussed, the fact that the unions in California said, we want more of your money so that we can get paid more than everybody else in the state. Unionized government workers should be paid more than everyone else. They shouldn't have to work as many hours.

1:55 They should retire sooner. They should retire with incredible pensions. That's what government is for. That's what this is about. This is about taking money from people who created wealth and created companies and hired many people to hand it over for high pensions that none of us get the real world. For government workers, it is taxing people who create jobs to pay for people who live off the government and taxpayers. You know, Grover, a lot of people don't understand that these pensions they get, it's. Guaranteed, I mean every year. I mean, if they don't like, if their investments don't meet you know, meet the standard, then it's up to the taxpayer to pay the difference.

2:38 Right. Yes, in the real world, people have defined contribution pensions. You put in ten percent of your salary, your company puts in ten percent, and that builds up over time, and then you retire on that. But you're never in a position where you're owed money from anybody else, or where you owe money. You know exactly the value of your retirement. If you work for the government. Often workers put nothing in themselves and the government puts in the money, and it's not enough to pay the benefits that they've promised workers. And when they promise them, they can't change that.

3:19 That's a contract. Heck, in Illinois they put it into the constitution. They realized they were so out of whack they have no way to raise that money. They put in the constitution that they will have to pay their retirees who retire younger than you and me or anybody else, and get more pay than you and me and anybody else, And they just keep getting more and more and more. And in New York they just had a debate about increasing the already very lucative contracts and pensions that New Yorkers had negotiated in the past. It no, we want more, Yeah, well why not. I mean they've been able to get away with it. But you know, meanwhile, you think that, particularly in these blue states where they're out of money anyway, but they keep finding ways to spend more money that they don't have, and it's like, when does somebody just say, uncle, you know, we can't do this anymore.

4:12 Well, the Democrats can't do that because their coalition is built about groups and structures that all demand access to other people's money. You've got the trial lawyers that want laws that allow them to sue people that, you know, if they spill their coffee. They want to be able to sell sue McDonald's for a million dollars so that McDonald's workers get paid less, so that the trial lawyers can't a hunk of the million dollars. You've got the labor union bosses that want more union dues and more government money and more contracts. And the big city political machines people on welfare, people who make one hundred and fifty thousand dollars managing other people on welfare. They're not on welfare, but they might as well be and they make a lot more money to people on welfare, and they make sure none of those guys get jobs and become Republican. So they want more and more people locked into welfare dependency every single day. So the entire left's coalition depends on somebody going out and stealing money from taxpayers and giving it to them. There is no end.

5:16 They will fight amongst each other. You know some people in California who are lefts go, oh, you shouldn't show your hand this soon. You shouldn't make it too obvious that your pensions are bigger than everyone else's. You'll get us all in trouble. All they're telling you is be quiet, we'll get to you. We're not telling them though. Yeah, you just get elected like Spamburger, and then you can let them see the cards, right boy. Virginia, on the other side of the continent, there was a woman who claimed to be moderate. She just signed a slew of tax and spending, many many new taxes, massive new regulations, raising the cost of everybody's home heating, oil, everybody's air conditioning. It is getting more and more Expensive's only been in office for a month or something, and she's out destroying the affordability of Vermont.

6:11 Well, and I mean, you know, you talk about the way some of these governments are attacking the wealthy, and they're and they're doing so blindly, particularly in New York, because here you've got these billionaires that are bringing jobs that contribute so much to the you know, day to day costs of New York, and now you want to tax them again, and they're going to go aste Labisco. Baby, you know, I'm going to Miami. And the governor of New York said the other day before the election said, if you want to leave, we don't care. Go ahead and leave. If you don't like our high taxes, leave And just a couple of weeks ago, she said, if you're visiting down in Florida, would you talk to those guys and ask them if they'll come back, literally leaving with them to talk people into coming back.

6:57 The French guy who helped to write the let's tax billionaires of churs. Remember the amendment to allow a tax on billionaires wealth does not anywhere in there say only billionaires. This will allow the legislature, with a simple majority vote, to decide not billionaires, millionaires, not millionaires. People who make one hundred thousand dollars a year. They can take that to any they can be. It could be everybody three weeks from now, as soon as as soon as the bill passes. This is not a they advertisers tax on billionaires so that they think you're stupid and you haven't read it and you don't know that with a tweak, not a constitutional amendment, not a vote to the people. Again, the politicians will take. If you vote yes on that amendment, you give them, the politicians the right to have a property tax on everyone. The state could do a property tax on your house, yeah, in to your local government.

7:59 Yeah. And they're talking about an exit attacks now too. Well, if you're going to govern like the East Germans, you better be willing to shoot people on the way out or they will leave. Right right and so now, And of course California's been trying to do this because I know when I left California, they tried to chase after me, and my accountant just laughed, said, don't worry about it. But another person that I knew was a one time partner. She ended up paying like three thousand dollars just to get them off the back. You know, they just kept pestering her. In Ohio, which is now being governed better, but a number of years ago it was pretty bad. People. A lot of people are leaving Ohio. Lawyers told people who were moving, if you moved to Florida, if you moved to Tennessee, you must stop giving money to your local church, stop giving money to your local charities, the local boy scouts, anything that ties you. Because I was saying, oh, you haven't really left, right your same doctor or your same dentist can't come back and use the doctor dent because that means you haven't really moved to up to Florida.

9:01 Uh So, not only are they losing talent, somebody who owns a house, pays property taxes, is an upstanding citizen, and creates jobs. You know it is amazing to me, and I know it's amazing to most Americans here, because you know, you just keep asking these blue state governors and that.

14:16 When when is enough enough? I mean, what is it going to take? Grower? Well, we just had the news that the governor of Maine has announced she's not running for Senate anymore. She was the moderate who was maybe going to be able to win that Senate seat for the Democrats. And they had the crazy person who's that calls themselves a communist and wear's Nazi tattoos and things like that. That's the guy who's been winning. So what did the woman who wanted to be thought of as a moderate too, Well, in order to chase after the voters who were going for the guy with a that's the socialist thing on their tattoo and a history of supporting communism and saying nice things about so in order to look more like that to win in the Democrat primary, she supported a higher tax rate on higher income people, exactly the kind of taxes that drive people out of California and New York and now Massachusetts and now Maine. But that wasn't enough to keep her left wing people happy. They've turned on her. She's not running again, but Maine is going to pay with higher taxes and people leaving Maine because she wanted to be the most left wing person she could.

15:36 This is part of her campaign. This was an illegal campaign contribution to her to get the legislature to say, let's go steal money from these you know several thousand people that vacation stay in Maine in their retirement who will now go someplace else. Grover, This is this is so concerning because you know, you and I talked about this last week. I mean, you've got half of the country things conservative and you know, appreciates conservative policies and votes for conservative policies. And then you've got the other half just bathing in fraud, waste, abuse and more taxes. And you know, and what's going to be galling is because you know, the Blue states are going to be coming with their hat in hand, you know, begging the government to give them more money because they've run out of money.

16:29 We very much need to make sure that the Republicans have the Presidency, the House, or the Senate, preferably all three. As long as you have one, you can stop them from passing a federal law which bails out failed states. That is what they will have to do, they will need to borrow trillions of dollars and give it to various states to try and keep those states from falling apart. They haven't been able to do that as much as they'd like, but watch for it. Which is why if you're in a state that isn't crazy, you can't afford to vote for a Democrat who is going to vote to bail out California, New York, Illinois, and now Illinois not only wants to have a gasoline tax, they would have a mileage tax on top of that. That's the new thing. Just the last couple of days they announced this is we're going to have a study that a bunch of Democrats are going to read and then go.

17:25 The study says we should do this, and you'll have you'll be you'll have to pay for it. How many miles you drive, you have to come in and they'll look at it. This is theoretically to force electric cars. They subsidized electric cars, ye, right, in order to get people to buy them. Then they say, oh, but we don't get a gas tax from you, so we should have a mileage tax. Why are you subsidizing something and then taxing it. It's become a joke what the left is doing. Reagan's comment, right, if the left says, if it, if it moves, taxes, if it keeps moving regulated, when it stops moving, subsidize it.

18:05 Right, exactly well, And the Democrats don't even wait for it to stop moving. They're just happy to, you know, to subsidize things, especially like like you said, with ev cars and all that and all those things. How much did it contribute to the inflation that we're dealing with today. Grover Well, taxes lead to higher taxes make everything less affordable. When you get a tax cut at the state level, a local level, federal level, you walk into the grocery store, everything in the grocery store is more affordable to you because you're paying lower taxes. Your take home pay is increased. Even if the top part of your paycheck doesn't get bigger, what you get to take home is bigger with a tax cut. Tax cuts are paying increases. They make life more affordable. The other side of that is increasing taxes reduces your pay, reduces your take pay. You may say you made it this much money, but after taxes you got a pay cut. Tax increases are pay cuts, and so Democratic governors around the country are campaigning on I'm going to cut your pay. Now they generally say I'm going to cut somebody else's pay.

19:16 But well, of course that's the way the whole income tax system came into play. Right, Oh, we're going to go after those nasty people that make so much money, that top one percent and that lasted for about a year. Right, Yeah, it's only about a one percent. We're paying the income tax. You had to make more than eleven million dollars to be in the top bracket. The top bracket was seven percent. Today the lowest bracket is twice what the highest bracket used to be. You know, the Democrats, it's in their DNA. They just they they're really not concerned about the people. And I'm and I'm wondering, you know, Grover, I was thinking the other night, when do the people finally say, Okay, pay up, sucka all this money that you've borrowed from our social Security fund that they're telling us is going to go bankrupt in thirty three or thirty four, why don't we the people get together and say, hey, we're calling the note.

20:12 You need to pay it. Because if we can get some of that money diverted into into social security, it'll be less money for them to waste and steal. Maybe. Yeah, Well, our friends on the left have a coalition of voters that all depend on tax dollars being taken from working people and given to them, whether it's people on welfare. Government employees have bigger pensions than anybody else in the world, that get higher pay for less hours work, that work fewer days in a month, fewer years in their lifetime. They demand more and more money from taxpayers, so there is no end to their demand. Welfare people give us more. Welfare people get government contracts that are corrupted and cost much more than they should. They want more and more cash, so there is no ability. The Democratic Party cannot fix the problem that they don't see as a problem. They see it as the way they live.

21:14 Yes, right, it is a way of life, there's no doubt, because that's how they get elected. But you know, just as they have built up a constituency, and I know you've done this with you know people, as you continue to educate people about tax reform and that, but we really need to augment that constituency in such a way. I mean, because you figure look at if eighty thousand people eighty thousand somalies can control Michigan, I got to think that, you know, three five million fair minded Americans as a voting block could create a lot of havoc on a good side. What do you think, Well, I think we've been winning elections recently. We need to make sure everybody gets to the polls. Please vote. Everyone who wants to raise taxes knows they need to vote in order to get more of your money and make your life less affordable. You need to vote. It matters every single one vote. Get your kids to vote, get your relatives to vote, your neighbors to vote, and vote for someone who won't raise your taxes, who will allow you to live in an affordable house, in an affordable neighborhood with it income tax that after the income the tax has been taken out, allows you to go to the grocery store and buy things well.

You talk about affordability. Just like you said with your formula, you cut taxes, you make more money. You know, the Democrats want to talk about affordability. Look at what the Republicans gave you with the Big Beautiful Bill. I mean, right now, returns are probably at an all time high right now, income tax returns. You've got more money in. Your pocket, Thank you very much, Donald Trump and the Republican But the mainstream media and these other naysayers wants you to believe differently.

23:05 Yeah, you just keep in mind the Democrats have said they wanted to not pass the Big Beautiful Bill. Had they won, our taxes everybody in the country would be four trillion dollars higher over the next decade, four hundred billion a year. That's a lot of money out of everybody's pocket. That's what the Democrats voted for. That's what they ran on, and should they win the House, that is what they will insist on. That's part of the reason why they shut down the government is they want to claw back that money from the Big Beautiful Bill. Right yep, if the truth be known, that's the bottom line. Well, we got to leave it there. You can steal on that for a while, but make sure you do something about it with your vote this time. Okay, Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform. 27:40 Well, you know, just having as much fun as possible, just watching you know, the left implode. I mean, it's amazing to me how they're cheering, you know, against America. And these are the same people that want to lead America. So it's almost like, Okay, this is like Barack Obama hope and change and the fundamental tree transformation of the country. We're going to turn over this country to these people that created all these problems that Donald Trump's been working so hard to fix in spite of activist judges and Congress that wants to sit on their hands and not participate in things that obviously need to be resolved, whether it has to do with the. Border, the Iran war, you know, affordability.

28:27 All these things that we're dealing with are the result of the very policies that Joe Biden enacted not to mention, you know, a trillion dollar giveaway as he was exiting. The White House. Yeah, that's unfortunately sad but true. And boy, what a complete mess Joe Biden made of so many different things clean up on aisles five, seven, twelve, fourteen, and twenty three, quite a few in between. And Trump is Donald J. Trump is trying to clean up all these messes from the border wide open, as you know, cleaning up the fraud that we're discovering in one federal program after another, and certainly in Minnesota in California, a lot of these things that happened at the state level involved a lot of federal money. And this isn't look I mean, as I say, good enough for government work. Some of this is going to be incompetence or just inefficiency or whatever.

29:22 But when you see the kinds of things that we've seen over the last few months in Minnesota, this isn't just people who are in the government are not very swift. These are people who's taking cash and running off with it, taking cash from aid that's supposed to be available for autistic kids in California, money that's supposed to be there for people in hospice, as they go through their last you know, three or four weeks on earth before they die of cancer or Alzheimer's, whatever else it might be. And people are just taking this money, running off with it and buying sports cars. One woman in Minnesota took some of this money she used to buy real estate in Kenya. I mean, just the level of theft and corruption are just staggering, say so often at the expensive people who need public assistance really just stomach.

30:04 Turning, right exactly. And like I said, it's so pervasive, deroutz no wonder the young kids see all this stuff that's happening. And it's even like, what was it that government official who bet on when Maduro was gonna, you know, be arrested and he wins what four hundred thousand dollars because he had some insider trading information and everybody was an uproar. But they're going, wait a minute, this guy, that's chump change. I mean, this is like, you know, pennies out of your penny loafers compared to what you know politicians have been doing all this time, including Nancy Pelosi, with all the inside of trading. And you're gonna put this guy to helen back and put him in jail for twenty years. And meanwhile you got all these elected officials getting away with this kind of stuff.

30:44 You're kidding me, right, well, I agree with you that compared to Nancy Pelosi, who went from you know, having modest income as somebody making one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars a year as a member of the House and then the speaker speaker in America, but she's worth out two million dollars or something crazy like this. Her her investments have grown more rapidly than UH the S and P five hundred UH then the UH. I believe Berkshire hathaway the money from Warren Buffett. She's apparently better invested in Warren Buffet. Who can believe that? So, I guess you must read the Wall Street ournal every day, or maybe she took some really good u UH business classes in her spare time or something like this. You mentioned the guy who bet on the Maduro situation. I do think there's a real there's an aspect of this which is really a deep concern, and that is, if you see you're sitting there at you know, some casino and some guy puts money on when Maduro is going to get knocked out, and you mentioned somebody mentions it.

31:40 Somebody pretty soon the Venezuela and UH government here. Here's that people are betting on Maduro getting knocked out, and all of a sudden, the operational secrecy of this effort goes away, and that could put our soldiers in in harm's way. That could make it could have made it possible for Maduro to you know, go and move his location and then still meet in control. So that kind of thing, basically is is a leak of state secrets. And I'm a very deeply concerned about that from that perspective, not just a corruption aspect. But again, Deroy, look for what's been happening. This is why Donald Trump doesn't want to talk to Congress and say, hey, guys, this is my plan. We got to go after Iran. That evidence says they they're minutes away from having eleven nuclear bombs.

32:21 We need to do something about it. If you had to talk to these guys, they'd leaked it out to the press. I mean that question what they do time and time again. So these people don't know about national security. And the thing is is that you know, we blame a lot on Joe Biden, but I blame it on the Democratic Party because they all voted lockstep on all these policies that have hurt so many Americans. Right, yeah, And most of these things that got approved in Congress, things like the so called Inflation Reduction Act and the Big American Recovery Acts I think was called right after Biden came into one that increased spending so dramatically and rubbed up bartflation. Right, those are almost all on party line votes, the Republicans voting against that stuff, and those things only going through with one hundred percent votes of Democrats. Not every one of those bills, but most of them. And so they're right, it's not just Joe Biden. The Democratic Democrat Party has to take responsibility for these disastrous policies. And in almost all these cases, they don't have any Republican fingerprints on them. So the GOP doesn't have to take any blame because they try to stop these things. They didn't have the vote, They didn't have votes at the time to do so. Did you reduce homelessness? Did you get these people homes? Did you help them out. Oh oh, where the money go? Oh no, they don't. Where the money went? Twenty four billion, not with an M, but with a B. Twenty four billion dollars up in smoke, and the number of homeless people in California increased. And then you've got the I think it's about seventy billion again with a ban on an M.

But but along the same type of line, we're going to create a problem that wasn't there and uh and we're going to uh, you know, through some backdoor money, offshore money. And they got, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars a nonprofit sitting in these offshore accounts and they're funding all these radicals in order to maintain some sort of level of relevance.

The indictment came out last week for the Department of Justice, and I read an article I think it was a Blaze or Bright Part one or two, and I just read it just, oh my god, are you kidding me? And it says like something out of a bad novel. What the Southern Poverty Law Center was doing was taking money from donors where they said we're fighting racism, we're fighting bigotry, or fighting violent extremism. They then took this money and paid it to informants in some of these very same groups. For example, they gave these people are called their number basically like F nine, F forty two, or how they identify the various field sources. They call them more informants. One of them was a guy F nine, as they call them, allegedly raised funds for the Neo Nazi National Alliance, and between twenty fourteen to twenty three, according to Department of Justice, the SPLC secretly paid F nine more than one million dollars. Then we've got another guy who is with the National something called the American Front, which is another racial extremist group. They paid him nineteen thousand dollars. This guy is a federal felon who is convicted of cross burning. So you had the SPLC literally giving nineteen thousand dollars to a guy who burned crosses.

44:00 Take this up. Then they gave another one of the informants was the Imperial Wizard of the United Clans of America. This is the same group that the same group that set off the bomb in that church in Birmingham, Alabama, back in nineteen sixty three to kill those four little girls who were playing in the basement. One of them By the way, they were friends with a little girl who I guess decided to stay home and do her homework or do something else. She was not in that church with them, thankfully, a little girl by the name of connell Lisa Rice Connelle sa Ri. I said, yeah, that's great, let me play with you guys. She would have bought up too, and she wouldn't have not have become a National security advisor and secretary of State. Are very good chance that wouldn't have happened. So it adds up to grant total about three million dollars that the Southern Poverty Law Center gave to these to these extremist groups Neo Nazis, KKK, et cetera, which then went out and engaged in racist activity.

This would be a bit like Alcoholics Anonymous paying off bartenders to make sure people got really stiff drinks so it become alcoholics and they would go sign up for Alcoholics Anonymous. I mean, it's morally logistically kind of the same thing, and it is truly breadthaking that this is going on. This is massive fraud. This involved money laundering. They had multiple bank accounts and multiple innocuous sounding names of various corporations that the people that got the money didn't get it from directly from Southern Poverty Law Center. They got it from these fictitious entities with very innocent sounding names like Northwest Technologies, tech Writers Group, Rare Books Warehouse. So this would basically launder the money and nobody the people getting the money wouldn't see the connection to the Southern Poverty Law Center. So this is a conspiracy. This is money laundering, This is wire fraud, This is defrauding donors, all in the effort of taking money to give to the very racist groups that the SPOC said they were fighting. And if they didn't get this money, who knows, the neo Nazi KKK might be totally out of business and wouldn't be around to minus people or cause problems or anything else. It's truly a Brestheking story.

46:13 Well, and to me, the whole white supremacy narrative took form because of what the Southern Poverty Law Center did and what they affected here with help of the mainstream media, mind you, and of course the Democrats and look at what happened in Charlottesville. How long, even to this day, deroy, you've got people echoing that false narrative in light of how bogus this is and how this is being exposed. I mean, nobody's offered an apology nothing. I mean, what they Donald Trump and what they accused him of. Even yeah, worse, three knives imagine if you've got been able to get through the door at the White House correspondents dinner an open fire, you could have picked up dozens of people, cabinet members, prominent journalists, possibly even the present United States, which of course was as objective. So this is this is awful stuff. And these people, if they would leave this alone, I would acknowledge that we've made such a tremendous progress in a race in this country.

And if you've got good ideas and you can present yourself well and represent the people in your in your community, then you get elected, not to oh you match my skin color, they're forming a vote for. You, exactly. Yeah, And I think there's some hope there. As you said, De Roy, is that you know, it's not to say that there aren't racists still around. Yes, there will always be racist still always will be, but but systemic racism, with all the laws and everything's gone out.

Basically, reconciliation is a procedure to get things through the Senate with fifty votes or fifty plus the Vice President splitting a tie as opposed to sixty, which you need to overcome a filibuster. You can only do this two or three times a year. It's very rare, it's very complicated. And so what John Thunen did was take this reconciliation procedure to pay off people at the TSA and Border Patrol who have not been paid. And I think it's about ten weeks now. Now I'm sympathetic to that. But if you're going to do reconscilation bill, because they're so rare, he needs to put other things in it. He should have and he didn't. Now the House they should. I think they should try to put the Save America Act in there. And the way to do that is to put spending and other monetary or fiscal aspects to it. So, for example, money to make it possible for people to get free birth certificates, they need to register or get free photo ID if they don't have photo ID. If a state does not comply with the Save America Act, as imagine some Democrats, states might drag their dragular feet, they'd be bought to be fined ten million dollars a day.

It now becomes a fiscal vehicle which makes it qualified for reconciliation. They should be putting tax cuts in there. They should put something in that says the twenty thirty census. You're not going to be counted in terms of figuring out how many electoral College votes the state has.
