We're back with you. Bill Martinez here. And we've got Dr. Issa Gabla joining us, a former Muslim and a global broadcaster. She's an expert on Sharia, Iran, Islam, and religious freedom. Dr. Gabla, great to have you back. How are you? I'm doing great. Thank you, Bill, for having me back. Well, I'll tell you, our audience so enjoyed you the last time you were here. And when I told them you were coming, they said, oh, let us know when. And so, you know, so we've been looking forward to this.

0:44 You know, as a former Muslim from Turkey, you know, we talked about this the first time, but maybe it might be good for, you know, the new people who are just finding out about you and in our audience to understand your background. Give them a taste of your background, if you would. Of course. Bill, I was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in a devout Muslim home. I had devout Muslims, secular Muslims, and radical Sharia law-believing Muslims in my family. It was a very dysfunctional home with a lot of abuse, turmoil, hatred. And I grew up brainwashed against infidels, Christians, and Jews.

1:25 I went to Koran courses, brainwashed, believing that Jews. Israel and America were the biggest devils, and all the problems in the world were originated from America and Israel. I hated them with all my heart, and I grew up in a very terrible environment for a child. During the Civil War years, seeing arms and legs flying in the air, people kill each other in front of my eyes when I was six years old, seven years old. So my list of trauma is very, very long. And then later on, I fled to America from a radical Muslim man who was trying to kill me. And when I came to America, I was suicidal. I was in a free country, but didn't know anything about freedom and didn't know my identity.

2:16 I even evangelized with Koran in. Miami, but. All these experiences, traumatic experiences brought me to a place of suicide. Making the long story short, on the day I was going to commit suicide, my Christian boss led me to Christ. And Jesus turned my life upside down. And I have changed, new creation in Christ since then. What was it that he said to you? Because one of the things that I hear a lot, Dr. Abla, is that... You know, Muslims will come to Christ usually as a result of a dream. You're one of the few stories that I hear where there was a conversation and there were words that touched your heart and opened up your eyes. What was it that he said to you that opened up your eyes to understand and begin to embrace Jesus?

3:11 Great question, Bill, because I had dreams and visions about Jesus when I was a little girl, too. So those, of course, implanted great seeds in my heart and mind. However, on the day I. Was going to commit suicide, my boss called me to his office after I cried my heart out in the ladies' room at workplace. And he said to me, Jesus knows about your suicide plans. And he knows everything. All about your childhood, Işık. He never forsaken you nor abandoned you. So He directly was speaking through the leading of the Holy Spirit into my heart. And at that very moment, Bill, I didn't know theology. I couldn't explain Trinity.

3:56 I couldn't explain how Jesus could be the Son of God. I believed all my life until that point. Jesus was a prophet. But I knew through His words. Jesus was in the room. He was real. And he was the only way to heaven. And I said, yes. Well, how did your boss know about your contemplating suicide? Had you shared that with him before? No, not at all. This was a word of knowledge for him. Absolutely, 100%. God revealed him what I was about to do. Wow. Well, and so here, I mean, you turn a complete 180. Yes, I did. Well, and the thing is, you know, as you're growing up, as you say, you've been indoctrinated. And this is, you know, your story is very typical of children who are raised in Muslim families. You know, here you are. I mean, we've been told it's a religion of peace, but yet you hear all this hatred, and it's hard to reconcile the hatred with the peace. You know, the only thing that God says that we should hate is evil, but he doesn't say we should hate other people.

5:03 Correct. Correct. Well, I have this phrase from Corrie Ten Boom. She said, if people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love. And I think Jesus taught me his love. He taught me. He was my mentor, and he discipled me alongside with the church body of Christ, of course. But my heart changed at that very moment, number one. But it kept. Changing over time. God started transforming me through a process. But on the day of suicide, the darkest day turned into my best day of my life. Also, I was filled with love for people.

5:45 First week to my salvation, I started leading people to Christ without knowing any scriptures. Right. Yeah, because you didn't have to. It's like the blind man. Exactly. You know, he doesn't know. He doesn't understand. He says, all I know I was, now I am. Right? Yes, that's all I had. I love that. That is so awesome. So, yeah, you can't help. And see, that is a true redemptive story. You know, some people can, you know, they just they kind of fake it or whatever, but it's really not genuine. And it's unfortunate because, you know, because they miss out. In the genuineness of what Christianity is all about. But for you, it has transformed you. So did you have any further connection with your family? I mean, all of a sudden you've made this radical conversion. What did your family, at least the ones you were in touch with, what did they think?

6:39 Oh my gosh, I was a loser in my family's eyes. I became an infidel. They didn't want to talk to me. My parents were so hateful towards me. But then I was. Going to speak at a church in Turkey at a conference. My father came to an Armenian church, which his family was part of the genocide, Armenian genocide, and burned 15 Armenians to stake, my father's family. And he came to Armenian church to protect me from the minorities, imagine that. And when I was. Speaking on Naaman's leprosy, my father threw himself to the altars and wept bitterly and received Christ Jesus gloriously.

7:22 And he became a changed man. And then he passed away to be with the Lord three years ago. My mom came with her burqa to America with. Two suitcases, almost 80 years old built. And after she came in this studio, when I was preaching the good news to the Muslim nations, she received Christ gloriously. Three weeks after she came here with her burqa, she threw her burqa and she gave her life to Jesus. Well, you know, and this is the thing that I guess Muslims underestimate. I think we all underestimate. And that is the clear contrast with God or without God, right?

8:03 Yes. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. I was worshiping a God who told me to kill and die in his name. And I worship a God right now who died for me. That is the contrast, biggest contrast. One tells his people, kill your enemies. The other one tells to us, love your enemies. And through that word, loving my enemies, I led terrorists to Jesus Christ because his word is powerful. Look, I mean, you think about this. I mean, you. have led terrorists to Christ. I know it's incomprehensible for people to consider, but the fact of the matter is that's how powerful the truth of Jesus Christ is, isn't it?

8:47 Absolutely. He is the word. And when we speak the word to people, we are actually giving them peace of Jesus. And he couldn't deny it. And he wanted to kill me, this man. He was after me to kill me. And he was going to assassinate me. But when he heard, my Jesus says, love your enemies. You want to kill me, but I love you in Christ. 13:55 As I mentioned, you know, it's an incredible, incredible story and the conversion that's been taking place. And this is just one of many. But, you know, here you are in America, but you're still targeted, Dr. Abla. I understand. I mean, last week we were supposed to get together and and you were saved from a kidnapping. Yes, somebody came to our church and he said, I am not going to leave this church without taking. Her with me. And we, of course, reported to authorities, our security involved. But it was a miracle of God, basically, that he saved my life from this man. Well, here you are. You're in America. America is, I see them a bit confused with how to deal. I think, you know, here we just celebrated the 25th year. of what happened on 9-11. And the country, I think, we overcompensated, I believe, psychologically. We had a president at the time said, look, don't malign every Muslim. We don't want to do that.

14:59 And I think basically that was engendered from what happened during World War II with the Japanese. And again, I think what we should learn, even what we should hold to this day, as I mentioned earlier, is we need to understand and be discerning and know the difference between good and evil, right? Absolutely. First of all, we both can say that we love Muslims. Let's make it clear to everybody that is listening right now and watching that this is nothing to do with hateful speech against Muslims. However, we need to separate people practicing their own faith in their homes, in their privacy, in a free country, then Islam is an ideology, radical ideology, believing in Sharia law and expecting everyone to become like them and they cannot coexist without violence with other faiths.

15:52 So there is a difference between Islam is a faith of someone's. In private life. Those are the Muslims that we love them and we embrace them. 75% of the world are those Muslims. But those Muslims are also under the oppression of the 25% of radical Sharia-believing Muslims who want to kill everyone until those everyone become one of them. And America is facing this threat right now, and it is invading America. And I call it population and political jihad that is happening in America right now. And that is the danger that all of us, whether 80s, agnostic, gay, or transgender, every one of us is facing in America that danger right now.

Well, the thing that's amazing, and I'm sure you probably shake your head, and I think we touched on this the last time that we talked, was when you had these university students shouting from the river to the sea, and a good number were gay. Yes, yes. Their life expectancy in a Sharia environment is probably measured in seconds, is it not? Absolutely. In a lot of Muslim countries, if somebody says, I am gay, just say that word and they will be executed right there. They have no rights at all. The Quran doesn't even accept any man, any woman coming and saying, I am gay. There is no such law. Under Sharia law, they have to be stoned to death.

17:28 Yes. So here we are in America where it's almost like the Trojan horse has come in. Yes. And it has taken over communities, certainly like in Minneapolis. We saw what happened, 82,000 Somalis. They not only took over Minneapolis, they've taken over the entire state. Absolutely. We are seeing it in New York City right now. How ridiculous is that five times a day there is Muslim prayer is playing in the Times Square right now. This is a form of jihad, not with tanks and bombs and soldiers, but through infiltration and invasion of our country. And the media is compliant with this. It's not like they're showing this happening in Times Square. I haven't seen any video. Have you?

18:12 Yes, I have seen so many videos about this. And our ministry, people can go and watch. We are releasing them, occasionally putting on our platforms right now. Yeah, but that's your ministry. But I'm talking about the mainstream media. I'm not saying it on mainstream media. Because I call it media jihad as well. Media jihad tells everybody Islam is a peaceful religion and nothing is happening. That is exactly what the devil wants us to know. Based on what you're seeing right now, I mean, we see mosque growing quite rapidly in Texas. There's other areas of the country. Give us your analysis on that.

18:54 Well, this is, again, form of jihad. It is not by the bullets. It's by the ballots. And it is by the political powers that are at work right now. It's just sympathizing with Islam. And, of course, there's a lot of economical issues. Foundings behind these things coming from all these Muslim nations and Muslim Brotherhood. It is growing like a mushroom bill around America. Europe, we are seeing a stage four cancer right now. America is stage two cancer. And we still have time to take care of Sharia and get rid of Sharia from all states in the United States of America. Because Sharia proclaims supremacy over our constitution.

19:42 And that is the danger of that. Well, that's the thing that amazes me. We've said this from day one. How can a Sharia compliant elected official put their hand on any kind of, if it's a Bible or something, and declaring that they're going to honor our constitution and protect us from all enemies, foreign and domestic? You know, that's a total lie. And of course, we know of Takiyah. We've learned that word right away. And so that's been quite evident and continues. But somehow our leaders and I think, you know, the rest of America needs to wise up because this is a government of, for, by, we, the people, which means that we're self-responsible. It's up to us.

20:22 If we don't say anything, then like you said, right now we're stage four cancer. Well, stage three is next. Yes, we are. We are there. You said it, Bill. Because of Takiyah, they can swear. They can say anything. They can look like even me, very westernized. But it is not about how we look. It's about mindset. I came to America not with a burqa. I look like this. But my mindset was like everybody should become a Muslim. These are infidels. I need to get rid of them. And when September 11 happened, you said it. I was one year in Jesus Christ, follower of Jesus. And I thought to myself, oh, my goodness, I could be one of them because I believed in what they did. Right.

21:08 But when you saw the reaction of America during that period of time, did you think, oh, like, oh, well, you know, are they they're being duped here? Right. I did. But also those times were so beautiful because America got united. We all cried together. That Sunday churches were packed with people crying and weeping. For the people that we didn't know, but lost their lives, innocent lives, America. But right now, America is so divided, Bill. And that is the biggest problem in America, because you know, and I know, house divided within self cannot stand. Right, exactly. Well, I mean, this is the opportunity that we're in. Now, let me ask you about, you know, the Muslim Brotherhood. And you've got these forces, these pro-Muslim forces are out there. Will they cheat when it comes to voting? Will they do that? Because we know that as a voting bloc, the Muslims are in lockstep. They won't deviate. I mean, unlike, you know, Christians or Catholics or whatever, I mean, you know, we know from surveys and research from Barna— that only 50% of Christians will bother to even register to vote. And of that 50, only 50 will actually vote. So they're really diluting their own strength and their own voice by not participating in the voting process. Whereas Muslims come in and they're all lockstep and they're all voting one way.

22:36 Yes, absolutely. You can expect any kind of cheating, any kind of con artist movement at this point, Bill. Once they are infiltrated, don't expect anything is going to be done with integrity. This is happening in the Muslim countries. Look at what is happening. Afghanistan, women were free like generations ago. Iran, women were beautifully dressed, modernized and had rights. Look what happened. How did those things happen? Because they cheated. They went their way through dictatorship and they started oppressing people. It is happening right now in the United States of America. If we don't unite together without this party or that party, we have to agree with one thing. This is a danger to our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren. We cannot leave this country like this. If we can connect right or left or independent together, we can do this.

27:48 I'm great, Bill. How are you? Hey, I'm doing terrific. Hey, did you happen to catch this? I thought this was interesting and a relief to read. And I think Steve Moore wrote about this. Remember the multitude of indictments against Trump a few years ago when they wanted to put him in jail for a dozen of years at least? Well, as a reminder, New York's flamboyant Attorney General Letitia James accused Trump of fraud for overvaluing his property. And the New York Supreme Court judge, Arthur Angeron, as you remember, infamously found Trump guilty because the market value, according to him, because he's a real estate genius, little did we know, but he valued Mar-a-Lago between $ 18 and $ 27. 6 million. Do you realize how many real estate agents wanted that deal?

28:39 You know, I think with some friends, some friends, we probably buy Mar-a-Lago ourselves. Yeah, without a doubt. I mean, we could put a Mar-a-Lago or something like that. Yeah, exactly. Well, and here it is. I mean, so here's Trump's estimate of 426 to 612 million. And he said that it falsely claimed an overvalue, an overvaluation of at least 2300 percent. Well, guess what? The courts just ruled that the value of the property is $ 650 million, even higher than Trump Inc. 's appraisal. So Trump basically not only did not overvalue the property, undervalue the property. Exactly.

29:19 Wow. Look at that. Does that, I don't know, does that wipe the case out or does it do anything to the case or Engeron or anybody else? Well, what it'll do, well, certainly, you know, Engeron's been embarrassed as all get out, but this is putting pressure on people to disbar Letitia and gross incompetence and prosecutorial misconduct, they say. Well, that sounds good to me. Well, look, she ran, I live in New York, of course, and she ran for attorney general here saying, if I'm elected, I'm going to get Donald J. Trump. Look, you don't do that. You don't run for office as a prosecutor saying, I'm going to go prosecute that guy. Now, if somebody, if you're an attorney general or DA and somebody comes in to say, I have evidence that so-and-so killed somebody, raped somebody, robbed somebody, swindled somebody, then fine, you pursue that. But you don't run for office saying, I'm going to get that guy. That's not the way our legal system is supposed to work. So she entered that position, I think, under a very, very, very dark, pitch black storm cloud, thunderhead, if you will. And now we find out that this case, like so many others that she's filed or been involved in with Trump, was made up, forgive the pun, completely trumped up charges, not based on any reality. The whole concept here was that Trump was swindling Deutsche Bank and these other banks by saying that his property was worth more than it was.

30:35 And yet these banks got paid off on time. They got paid their proper interest. They got their full principal back. And then they came forward and said, hey, you're a great customer. You pay on time or early. You pay everything you're supposed to, if not more. We like working with you. Can we please do more business? Not about you, Bill, but I've never seen somebody who's a victim of a con job come back to the con man and say, hey, Would you please con me again? So, I mean, there was no victim. Nobody said, hey, this guy robbed me. Trump didn't pay his bills. Trump cheated or whatever. These people were very happy. They want to do more business with him. And here comes Letitia James saying, oh, I'm going to argue this case on your behalf. Claim that you were injured when these guys said not only were they not injured, they want to do more business with this guy. So this whole case was a complete legal abortion from day one. And now, as you say, now we have the detail that Engeron, Mr. Century 21, you know, realtor of the year, was completely off by a factor of what, roughly 30. that this property wasn't worth $ 20 million.

31:28 It was worth more than, he said, $ 650 million. So he's off by a factor of 32 or 130. He valued the property at 132nd, 132nd of its actual value. Unbelievable. Well, and the deal is- He brought it off the bench for that. Well, yeah. And then Letitia James, not only that, but of course, these Soros-backed attorney generals, and the same thing happened. Look what happened in Georgia, right? you know, in that, in that fiasco there with Fannie Willis. Yeah. And I, I mean, and, and look at what, everything they did, you know, to go after Trump and they're, you know, they're still looking to go after him. And, and of course, you know, the Biden's DOJ is all over this. I mean, at some point, you know, the, the closet door is going to open up Fibber McGee's, you know, all their underwear and everything's going to come falling out along with the James Comey and, You know, and the whole gang of, you know, Biden mafiosos. And, you know, and there needs to be some consequences seriously about all this.

32:34 Yep. No, there need to be real consequences for this. And I think there are a lot of people who are involved in all the anti-Trump litigation and criminal charges that were being pursued who need to be disbarred. I think Letitia James should be at the top of the list. Again, she ran saying she's going to get Trump. You shouldn't do that. If you find crime when you're in office, fine. Don't quit saying I'm going to get this guy without even knowing that the person has done anything illegal. If he has, in this case, he has not. And Garan, of course, assuming himself to be the great real estate valuation genius, it turns out he is no such genius. He ought to be booted out of there. And then you've got the judge in the Hush Money case. I did a piece for, I believe it was the American Spectator, if I remember correctly, And the piece started by me saying that the judge turned his courtroom into a crime scene.

33:21 I went through a list of about 16 or at least a dozen, about 13, 14, 15 examples where this guy violated either the canon of judicial ethics for judges in New York State, New York State law, New York, all the various procedures the judge is supposed to follow, as well as the U.S. Constitution and English common law going back to the 1300s, the whole business about a jury having to rule on, I believe it was the whole concept of you've got to be able to rule on the entire case and not just say, all right, I agree on this part, but disagree on the other. All 12 jurors have got to agree on the whole thing before you convict anybody, not picking shoes like you're at a cafeteria line. I believe that decision goes back, if I'm not mistaken, to 1350, something like this. So it was overturning 650 years worth of Anglo-American common law.

34:11 Jurisprudence, yeah, exactly. Jurisprudence. This guy's out of control. And he had conflicts of interest with his daughter, having worked for Kamala Harris and for the Biden campaign. That alone should have kept him off the case. He should have been picked randomly. Anybody who gets in a case, the judge should be picked randomly by a machine, basically. Instead, you have the chief judge say, OK, you're good. We'll deliberately put you on that case because you heard an anti-Trump case before. So that was another violation. So you go through everything on that case. And I think the judge ought to be booted off the bench immediately. The prosecutors ought to be disbarred. There, as you say, need to be consequences. People suffered. People had massive legal bills, total headaches. I would not be surprised if some of these, not just the Trump case, but others, end up with people. I know one case where the guy was so stressed out he got cancer and died. I know somebody whose daughter was so upset about the situation her father faced through all these various hoaxes and lawfare. Not once but twice she attempted suicide.

35:09 This is nasty, awful, evil stuff, and people need to pay a price for this. That involves James Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Andrew McCabe at the FBI, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, all these other people who sat there and just made up these fake charges. They just invented them. There's nothing cute or funny about it. People paid massive legal bills, went bankrupt, lost their homes. Some of them are still suffering as a consequence of all this stuff. And again, if they've done something wrong, fine. They're criminals. Lock them up. Nobody in the Russia hoax and the stuff in which Trump was involved, there was no wrongdoing. And these people suffered tremendous consequences. And the people who tortured them and tormented them for years need to have major consequences such as fines, disbarment, destruction of their legal licenses, licenses to practice law, for starters.

35:56 And then you can look at civil charges and even criminal charges. This is deadly serious. And these people need to be punished. I don't hear about held to account. And I'm interested in people being held to account. I want to see people punished. And I want to see major consequences for their misconduct, if not their actual criminality. And what did they do in terms of we the people? Not much. And our government. I mean, they turned our government on its head in order to delay anything that Trump would do in a positive nature. And even in spite of that, his first term, except for COVID, I mean, look what he was doing, DeRoy. And at every turn, they were putting a stick in his spokes. And not only his spokes, but the spokes of the people who voted for him.

36:38 And then Barack Obama has the audacity to talk about, you know, supposedly the smooth transition of power. And after everything that he set up, you know, with Hillary Clinton and the, you know, the Russian hoax and on and on. And these guys are all sitting back. And Barack Obama will get away with it because of presidential immunity. But I'll tell you what, as far as the court of public opinion and my humble opinion is, It needs to be all over him to no end, and he may not pay some direct consequences, but I believe that his legacy should be so tarnished because of all that he did. Brennan, you know, Hunter Biden, everybody, along with these activist judges that have somehow gotten in the back room and said, hey, this is how we're going to interfere with a democratic republic.

Whether they liked it or not, the American people elected him president of the United States in 2016, which they had every right to do, and they did. And then these people say, look, we lost the election. We will uh, work with people on Capitol Hill to, um, you know, fight his program, which they have a right to do, or we'll write op-ed pieces. We'll organize protests. They want to use their first amendment rights and the, and the legals and the, uh, uh, electoral system to respond to Trump. That's perfectly okay. What's not okay is to sit there and gin up charges, make up charges out of thin air. It's not like Trump did anything wrong or these people around him did anything wrong. They just invented these non-crimes, uh, and then persecuted people for stuff that they, they did or didn't do that, which was basically, uh, either things they did that were legal or things that they never did, which they claimed were criminal, which they didn't do. And then you have people like Comey who leaked some classified materials to a friend of his who was a professor at, I think it was law school. That guy then turned around and turned this information over to the so-called paper of record. They published it. Once that happened, they could say, oh my God, now we need a special prosecutor. And they were able to get a special prosecutor. If you're the head of the FBI, you don't have a right to take classified data and send me your friends to do anything. Even if it's just, Hey, Bob, look at this.

43:07 Isn't this an interesting bit of information? Not for that purpose, not for the purpose of getting a special prosecutor. I don't know why James Comey is walking around having a good time. I mean, just on that alone, he should be in jail. That alone, you know, he'd be put in handcuffs, put on trial, and if he's convicted, tossed into the clink for years. And this guy's cruising around, living the best possible life, suffering, as you say, no consequences for this criminal behavior. And all this led to two assassination attempts. Well, yes, I mean, you can add them all up, but yeah, exactly. And they just keep on going along with all this vitriol that they've put out there. And I got to tell you, this may come back on them, you know, what they've put out there because they've dumped this into the electorate. And, you know, you can't contain it. You know, what happens in Vegas or anywhere doesn't stay in Vegas.

44:02 That's all an illusion anyway. And that's just something you can put on a T-shirt. But in the real world, it goes all over. Yeah, look, I think you are correct, unfortunately, because as all of this acrimony has been unleashed against Trump and his supporters, and not just acrimony, but violence, as you mentioned, two attempts on his life while he was a candidate, another four since, you know, the White House Correspondents Dinner, various people walking around Mar-a-Lago with guns and on and on and on. And, you know, people always say, oh, but both sides do it. Well, no, both sides don't do it. I don't know anybody, whoever was caught with a gun walking around Joe Biden's property or any of Bill Clinton, or rather Barack Obama's various residences, or Bill Clinton's or Hillary Clinton's for that matter. I mean, that stuff's going on. It's been covered up. My guess is it didn't take place. And you saw Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court Justice, some guy was walking on his front lawn with a Glock and some plastic, what do you call them?

45:04 Like plastic handcuffs or ties. Yeah. And this sort of thing going on and look, I hope it doesn't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised at some point if somebody says, look, you know, the left keeps doing this. They keep coming after our people. They killed Charlie Kirk, obviously. And at some point somebody is going to say, look, you know, we've had it and you're going to see people on the right taking up arms and, you know, threatening or maybe killing people. I hope that doesn't happen. I'm not advocating that. I hope I never see such a thing, but if it did happen, I wouldn't be shocked. I'd be very sad and I'd be very upset, but I wouldn't be shocked if that sort of thing happened. Right. You see this go on. And again, you don't see consequences. These things take place. The politicians involved never suffer. Nothing ever happens to them. And after a while, people get very suffered and figure, well, they got to take the law into their own hands. And that's when things start to get really crazy.

You know, we just mentioned at the start of the initial interview, segment that we talked about, the victories that Donald Trump has been getting. But of course, the mainstream media is not going to give us any kind of ink on that, right? No, I don't expect them to be helpful, unfortunately. But people like me try to help. And I know you do, too. I have a piece with the headline Trump GOP victories give Republicans plenty to lure voters. This is from the Daily Signal from September 14th. And I list this is based on a document the White House put out. It's a whole bunch of policy victories that Trump and the Republicans have been able to secure over the last not even two years. Probably the most dramatic is doing what Alejandro Mayorkas, the DHS secretary under Biden, you say. We always say the border is closed. The border is closed.

46:55 Of course, the border was wide open. It was outright lying to us. But now, in fact, the border is closed. The Trump administration, over the last 15 straight months, has not released one illegal alien into the homeland. They've been told, all right, turn around and get out of here. They've not been told, you know, run free, go to Times Square and enjoy your free hotel room. We've got the number of illegal aliens in the country down by 2.3 million. That's a huge number. Those are both people who are deported and people who decided to self-deport. That's a big number of people who are no longer in this country against the law. Some of them just working other people who are criminals and living off of the. Dole or whatever. The news on crime is outstanding. We've got the murder rate all the way down the lowest it's been in America since the year 1900, the lowest 126 years. You can believe that. That's amazing. And you've also got, it's amazing.

47:45 The FBI, they're out of the 10 most wanted fugitives. They've managed to catch nine of them. Now 10 increases in violent crime. Yeah. Yeah, update that now to 10. Yeah, they got the 10th guy. Oh, I missed that. Yesterday they announced it. Yes, Kash Patel said, yeah, we got number 10. Okay, how about that? 10 out of 10. Okay, even better. 10 out of 10. 10 most wanted, all captured under President Trump. That's more than double the number captured under Biden over four years versus all 10 within two years by the Trump administration. That's great news. I didn't know it was all 10. Violent crime. First six months of this year, crime slipped another 10%. Rapes down another 18.6%. Murders down 23% lower than that. And then you mentioned the one beautiful bill, one big beautiful tax cut, as they call it. You have no tax on tips. You've got no tax on overtime, no tax on social security benefits. That's real money that people are able to keep in their pockets. And another great bit of great news is the Trump accounts. Parents of kids who were born in the years 2025 through 2028. They can put up to $ 5, 000 in each of those accounts.

48:56 Parents can, employers, any adult may deposit that money. The federal government is going to start off each account with $ 1, 000. And Michael Dell and his wife, Susan of Dell Technologies, they donate $ 6. 25 billion with a B, $ 6. 25 billion, which will add an extra $ 250 to each one of those accounts. And this amount of money will appreciate over the years. And when the kid turns 18, the kid will get control of that money and can use it for college or for technical school or whatever else it might be. That's just a handful of things I mentioned in this article in the Daily Signal. Again, under the headline, Trump GOP victories give Republicans plenty to lure voters. And I have a bunch of other examples of that in other areas. And it's very impressive what they've been able to accomplish. Unfortunately, as you say, the dinosaur media doesn't cover this stuff that to know about it. And, you know, there are other distractions, like what's going on in Iran and so forth.

49:44 But there's a lot which the GOP ought to be able to run, and it should. Yeah, any two or three of these, I mean, you just went through a multiple of accomplishments, and we've got more to go here that you could go on and talk about, you know, because of what Donald Trump has done on behalf of the American people. And my point is, is that if the Democrats, they could only wish that they had maybe two or three of all these ideas that Trump has put out there, you know, whether it's the Trump account or, you know, the big, beautiful bill, no tax on tip. You know, what I love about these ideas that Trump comes up with, you got to know that the Democrats are saying, ah, why didn't we come up with that?

50:28 Absolutely. I mean, look, the Democrats always say, oh, we're the party of the working man. Well, you know, maybe the Democrats should have come up with no tax on tips. I know that after, uh, Trump came up in overtime as well. After Trump came up with that idea, Kamala Harris came out and gave a press conference. Ooh, no tax on tips, no tax in overtime. I thought, wow, that is outright full-on plagiarism. I mean, you think she could give it a different name, like tax-free tips or tax-free overtime, or at least give it a different name. She didn't even do that. She took the actual name of the program and just Xeroxed it. Basically took Trump's speech, Xeroxed it, and put her name on it. I mean, if she does that in college, she would. She served, she followed her mentor, you know, plagiarizing Joe. Well, there you go. Right. Exactly. Exactly. A guy who lifted that campaign speech, I think it was Neil Kinnock of the British Labour Party. Yeah, I guess she learned how to learn how to plagiarize from the finest.

51:13 Right. Right. Exactly. So, yeah, it's you know, it is amazing. But I think that, you know, more and more Americans, especially voters going into this, you know, midterm. And I think what Donald Trump did, brilliant idea to have a midterm convention. Very smart. Very smart. Yeah, no, it was a great idea, and it was his idea. And so the country got to see for, I think it was two or three nights, leaders in the Republican Party get up and talk about their successes, what the GOP's ideas are for the future, see some of the future talent in the party. I'm very impressed with this young man, Brandon Gill from Texas, who's probably, what is it, 30, 31, 32, something like this.

51:55 Very well spoken, looks great, sounds great. He's fantastic in hearings, asking people tough questions. I think we'll be hearing a lot more from Brandon Gill. It was great to be able to showcase him. you know, rising stars in the Republican party, as well as of course, Trump and members of the cabinet. Some of the people in the cabinet gave much better speeches than I expected. Todd Blanchard gave a much better speech than I thought he would. And some of the other folks, I thought Mehmet Oz gave a fantastic speech about Medicare fraud and how they're fighting. All these people are taking advantage of these programs designed for elderly, elderly people with illnesses and Hey, let's just, you know, steal from them. So they're cracking down on that. And Mehmet Oz did a great job of pointing out how they're saving taxpayers money and frankly, saving money for seniors to take care of their health care rather than have money run off with by a bunch of con men who use it for their own personal enrichment.

Hey good morning six minutes after the top of the hour right now i'm bill martinez and he's jeffrey simmons md i might say and we're gonna talk about his new book openheimer's demon nuclear terror and the race to save a city uh dr simmons good to have you with us how are you. Sir I'm great. It's nice to be here. Thank you. Well, Oppenheimer's Demon is a thriller with a purpose, as you say, to show how an American city would likely respond to a catastrophic threat and where that response would tend to break down. In your book, you covered a multiple amount of scenarios, right?

55:11 Well, mostly just the scenario of a nuclear disaster. missile hitting a big city and how the city would react and how they'd solve it. I mean, it's a thriller story with a side thing of how the city would respond, which would be awful. That's one of the major points of the book and a couple of major points between the characters, but how they find out what's going on. I mean, in the beginning, they barely know something's up, but they don't know what it is. And the city EOC, which most people don't know what an EOC even is, Emergency Operations Center, but every city has one. And so most people don't know that there's one there or who's even there. So that teaches people and shows them that operation, plus the main character is there, and at least for a while. And as this thing builds, of course, the responsibility for this problem goes to the state and then goes to the feds and goes to the president. Still working with the EOC, but... And so things are getting worse and worse, and people are panicking in the city because the word slips out that there may be a nuclear bomb going off. I use Chicago. There's two sites.

56:19 I won't tell you what the other one is. But I use Chicago as one of them. And people start panicking. And gridlock, road rage, people starving, people don't have money. Awful, awful things happen. And it's pretty predictable that would happen if we had a 911 call. the 9-11, with a nuclear missile of sorts. And it could happen. There's people out there who want to kill us. And the missiles have gotten smaller. And they've gotten a bang for the punch. And yeah, we're kind of built for protection. And I'm not a military person. I'm a preparedness person. But we're kind of built to protect us military-wise. And I can't really address how well that is. But the experts say, you know, we're pretty good on that. If you go back with President Obama in 2010, he was quoted as saying, I can only paraphrase it, but thank goodness, the threat of nuclear war is less likely, but the threat of nuclear terrorism is more likely, even though it was a low probability. Then fast forward to a UN comment just four or five months ago, May of this year. It's an article that talks about the same thing, and they're saying the nuclear terrorism threat is a bigger risk than it was years ago. Mind you, I want to add in low probability, but still. And a dirty bomb is probably more likely than an exploding bomb. A dirty bomb is just loaded with, dirty in a sense, with radioactive material,

57:50 makes everything radioactive, scares the daylights out of everybody, is not much of a bink bang, but it spreads this like bacterial shrapnel, you know, disease shrapnel, They can cause a lot of problems. And how do you wash down a skyscraper afterwards or take care of thousands of people, maybe tens of thousands of people who've been exposed? And it can cause radiation disease and a whole host of bad things. But maybe even the panic that follows is even worse. I have an op-ed coming out of the Washington Examiner just in a couple, three days that talks about exactly what they haven't done to help people react.

58:30 I mean, they know it's going to happen. It's not a debate that there's not going to be panic and gridlock and all the bad stuff. But what can they do about it? They kind of throw up their hands and say, oh, it's not feasible. Well, it is feasible. But I mean, it's going to happen anyway. But I suggest some things in the op-ed and I suggest things in my talks. But it has to do with how do you deal with panic? Well, if you're prepared. Exactly. I was going to say that's absolutely key is preparedness, right? Yeah. If you're prepared, it helps. If you rehearse this, especially if you have a family with little kids, but if you rehearse this, it becomes sort of like a knee-jerk, like the basketball player at the end of the game when it's a close game throw. it with instinct, without any other thought, and it goes through and they win by one point. Well, if you've rehearsed it enough, then it becomes a little more instinctive. The other thing is if you have enough materials at home to help you.

59:24 If you don't have food, if you don't have water, well, you're going to panic. If you don't know what you're supposed to do, haven't even read about it, you're probably going to panic. And they've studied this, and studies show about 31% of people are prepared. But when you look a little closer, they're not prepared all that well. I mean, if you live in Florida, you probably are decently prepared for a hurricane. And if you live on the West Coast, maybe an earthquake or first forest fires. And these things overlap, but they're not exactly the same. Preparation for a flood is not the same as a blizzard. You know, earthquake is not quite the same as a forest fire. So, but having things, preparedness involves, I've got a list, your food, water, security, shelter, sanitation, and first aid. When it comes to food, you have to have non-perishable food. You don't have stuff that's going to spoil in a few days. And you also have to check the expiration dates on these things. If you have stuff for a long period of time, I have stuff that are 25 years old that, you know, it says it goes 25 years. Well, it's getting tossed. But it's 13 years. Well, it's probably okay. It should be okay.

1:00:32 I hope that people do it, know what they're doing. But yeah, so I have a little bit of each, but cans of stuff, you know, not frozen because power may go. Rice, you know, beans and sacks, things like that, flour maybe. But if you go to ready.gov, that's one of the sites I recommend all the time. That's a FEMA site. And you can find out how you should prepare, what you should do. And you can even select your You know, you're catastrophe du jour. I want to read about blizzards today. Also, you get my book. I've got a couple of books. One's called Common Sense and Disaster Preparedness. And it's a couple of years old. The only thing that's changed is the tourniquet. Now we don't loosen it and tighten it, loosen, tighten. That's old news. We know we can keep the arm alive longer than we used to.

1:01:19 So you'd rather keep the person alive and not bleed out than try to save the arm or the leg. So you leave it on, but look up tourniquet. Anyway, that tells you a lot about what to do and you can put in your back pocket. If power is gone, you're not going to be able to get on ready.gov to find out what you should do. In fact, it's a little bit late at that point. But anyway, food is essential. Do you have certain food problems? You know, can you not eat usual stuff? Well, you better make sure you got the right stuff. And maybe if, you know, lactose is a relatively easy thing, you know, but diabetic people, Well, you better be prepared for that in advance. And there's plenty of people who have that problem. Dialysis, people need to make sure there's a dialysis unit up the road 100 or 200 miles. You know that roads are going to be packed no matter how prepared people are. And so the cities have not really planned on how to get people out. They have exit ways with forest fires on the West Coast. They have exit ways with tsunamis.

1:02:18 But nobody's talking about how are we going to get all these people out of town? They say, well, The police will direct traffic. Well, the police may not show up for work or the police may not be able to get to where they're supposed to go. With good luck, they may not be able to get through. You know, maybe helicopters can take them if there are any. But so police, firemen, ambulances probably won't be able to get through. So plan on that. So you should have a first aid kit. And I recommend people have antibiotics. Get that from your doctor or the certain organizations will give them to you now over line and talk on. telehealth and about it and they'll give you as a what if and they give you directions what to do because an infection could kill you and if you're in a decimated place like Hiroshima you're not going to get any help so if you're outside the range where you can stay and that would be roughly seven miles but it's highly variable based on the kiloton of the weapon and also winds but if you think you're at least seven miles away from downtown which got bombed or that air force base You're probably safe, but stay 24 hours or 48 hours.

If not, you better get your hands on his book, especially because this is commonsensical. And, you know, for our generation, Dr. Simmons, we grew up diving under deaths, right? When there was the threat of a nuclear bomb, you know, coming from Russia and all that. And thank God we got on the other side of it. And here today, even though you have Donald Trump saying insistently that Iran will not get a nuclear bomb, well, it may not be Iran, but it could be these terrorists that would go and go to a neighboring nation that has nuclear weaponry and be able to capture it. and become an imminent threat, right?

I always forget to hold it up. I've been through a lot of interviews. At the end of it, I say, whoa, I didn't hold it up. Yeah, right. And it happens in Chicago. And if you don't know Chicago and Grants Park, it's this reflective bean. And make my hand go the other way. And there's the nuclear blast. And there's the skyline of Chicago that way. Not used to like backwards doing your hair or your teeth or something. So yeah, so I can't recommend it. I know the author very well. Water, one gallon per person. A big family, that gets to be quite a load to carry. And if you're going to evacuate, that's a big deal. But one gallon per person is estimated. Kids less, you can probably get away with half a gallon per person. But for people... four gallons a day for two weeks, that's going to take up the whole car and some. So you have to plan ahead on that.

1:10:50 Right. That's what I was going to, I'm glad you brought that up because I was going to ask you earlier when we were talking about these things that are, they're required. I mean, this isn't an option, but you know, you look at portability, how can we move it from, because we may not necessarily be able to stay where we're at. Right. Right. We used to tease trainees, trainees that you get a powder, And when you get there, you fill it up with water. But that doesn't really work. I'm joking. It doesn't really work. Well, you take as much as you can and make sure it's safe. You know, if you got it from a store, it's got a date on it. If you bought it from a stream, you better have strained it or treat it with iodine tablets or something. In fact, take iodine tablets or something, some type of water. There's a variety of things you can use to clean water if you run into it. And that's an option. Security, there's going to be people who want what you have. You've got to think about protecting yourself. Sanitation, toilet stuff, feminine stuff, a whole host of things along that line. You've got to plan ahead with that. First aid kits, real important, but I also say have an antibiotic. Also, if you take prescriptions, a lot of older people take several prescriptions.

1:12:00 They don't know what the name is. They don't know how often they take it. They might not even know why they take it. Write it down, put it in your wallet. Carry a pill box with at least three days so if you get caught out of your home, with a catastrophe, at least you have three days to find somebody. Pharmacies are going to be ransacked, grocery stores are going to be ransacked. When it comes to evacuation, people know where your family is, how to contact them. In fact, you know, like through Facebook, through Red Cross, having a distant family member that you all call and connect that way. Important papers, have them in an iCloud or ready to go. If you live near forest fires, You need to have a pack that you can run with really quick. I mean, you may have to leave in your pajamas, but maybe you can pick up your important papers on the way out the door. So you have to plan ahead for that. Prices, items, think about that.

1:12:54 There's a whole ton of things to learn. I mean, I can't tell you. I teach this over nine units, 27 to 30 hours worth. And so if you look up CERTs, I recommend people join CERTs. That's CERT, Citizen Emergency Response Team, C-E-R-T-S-E-R-T. Almost every big city has them. I recommend in my op-ed that this becomes mandatory in schools. Because if you're just looking for volunteers, you're not getting enough people. And it kind of, you know, they forget. They don't come back. Five years later, the training kind of drifts away. Things may have changed. But if you're teaching in schools, kids can get really excited about this. I've taught kids before. And they've tried this several times. But without it being mandatory in school, it just doesn't get out like it should. So that's one thing. Civil defense.

1:13:39 You see something, say something. Well, see what and tell who? And how do you tell them? How do you reach them? Who do you call? And the police are pretty busy. And if you just say you saw something, well, you better have something really good to tell them. But anyway, there's a lot to learn. I'm kind of going through it rather quickly. But it gives you perhaps an idea. And the book deals with this big time stress, big time stress. Yeah. Well, and as you say, when people are stressed, you know, they lose their personalities, you know, so to speak. And everything becomes very, very dangerous. But this is, like you said, why preparation is so important. Getting involved with a search program.

1:14:24 I mean, you know, I think that right now, this is a clear warning for a clear and present danger that, you know, I believe is eminent, especially in light of what this country has gone through in terms of illegal immigration. We don't even know how many millions of illegals are in this country and what they're up to. Right now, they seem to be quiet only because we have some law enforcement that's keeping an eye on them. And that's one of the things that we find, Dr. Simmons, is that when law enforcement is being exercised, the bad guys will go underground for a while until it's opportune. And all we need to... Something triggers it, some critical thing happens and all of a sudden they come out of the woodwork. And in some cases, what I'm hearing from some people, they say, look, it's not even a matter of days or hours. It could be minutes. You've got choices to make in a matter of minutes that could be life-saving, right?

1:15:24 Yeah. And also, what's the downside? This is a terrible thing that could happen. And this is something you can do a little bit about, not a lot. It depends on where you are. I mean, if Hiroshima, you're ground zero, you're incinerated, but it's over, I guess, in a flash, literally. But if you're at seven miles out or 10 miles out, you might really be benefit from knowing this. Also, if you're downstream from a big city, a lot of people say, well, I live outside the big city. Well, they're all going to be flooding out of the big city and they're going to go through your grocery store and your pharmacy and robbing your guys out there. And the motels will be swamped. And you're going to, you know, are you going to put up a barrier? Are you going to try to help or something in between? So planning ahead is virtually no downside. I mean, a few pennies and some people that's important, but in most instances, it's not that much. And if you buy stuff kind of slowly, food, you know, the water can come out of your tap and just get a container, but just make sure you've changed it up intermittently. Lots of tricks and ways to save money. I mean, it's the fancy people who have the Geiger counters and the, and all kinds of other nutty things, which who knows, but I hope we don't need that level. But yeah, plan ahead. And if I'm not right, you may have a tornado or you may have a forest fire or something along that line. And all this preparation will help you with that. Don't wait to the last minute. Don't plan on somebody else doing it for you. If it's like Chicago with a nuclear attack, the police won't show up. Or if they do show up,

1:16:54 they may not be able to get to their posts, which I mentioned. Firemen may not be able to get to the homes if they show up for work. Hospital workers may not show up or cannot show up, and hospital workers at the hospital may flee, so your medical care may be really limited. And after Hiroshima, it was awful, if you read some of the survivor stories. And I have that in my book, and that plays a role somewhat in the book, too. I'm trying to get a message out. I mean, I wrote the book just kind of for the fun of it, but as I wrote it, it became like, wait, there's some important stuff here. I think the government... In every city government, federal government can do more. And one thing I really mentioned is teaching certs in schools. I knew a lady many years ago, Haley, and I can't remember her last name. Nice looking, nice acting, very pleasant talking, all the good stuff. In her 40s, mom of two. And she was really excited about something called teen certs. And all of a sudden she died out of nowhere. I mean, I wasn't close with her.

1:17:51 She lived thousands of miles away and I could never get more information. But like the program died. It was a wonderful program, I thought. And so, but it's, I know, starting that and waiting for volunteers, well, that's not as good as having a mandatory in school. And like you said, we used to get under the desk. I did that. A lot of help that would be in a nuclear war, but we used to get under the desk. And so let's get a little fancier and a little more modern now and teach the, and kids really like it. When I've taught kids, I mean, a lot of them really get turned on about this and want to participate. How to pull people out of rubble without hurting them or yourself i mean in mexico people die trying to save people lots of people die exactly people and so putting out a fire with a fire extinguisher it's pretty easy to do knowing when you can go into a building and when you can't that's important a lot of people go into buildings searching for stuff that have been already damaged and get into trouble uh first day triaging people.

1:18:52 If you have a dozen people down and the amateurs are coming and there's only one coming, you can help the firemen who are coming by pointing out who really needs help right now. And that would be triaging and who can probably wait. And things along that line. And there are a lot of first aid things you can do on the spot, like a tourniquet or pressure on a wound. A lot of things you can do. People can learn easily. And if you practice it, it's more likely. And I think you'll be less panicky. I remember when I took that class, we have to do this. We have to do that. Get away from that window. You know, that type of thing. A lot of people have their babies by windows where the glass, when it breaks, can go right in the crib. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. That's amazing.

1:19:33 You know, Dr. Simmons, my takeaway from our conversation, again, is you reinforce the idea of self-responsibility, right? Exactly. But the city and the county, say, can help this. Yeah, they can help. But really, you have to be proactive about your own safety. Dr. Jeffrey Simmons has been our guest. He's a nationally recognized disaster preparedness expert, community emergency response team, trainer of trainers, and former member of the Board of Governors The American Academy of Disaster Medicine and previous member of FEMA Advisory Council 10 is also author of Common Sense and Disaster Preparedness that we mentioned earlier. I'm doing well because we spent a lot of time before we did the show talking about famous issues of ancient Rome, Augustine, and who turned the Republic into an empire and all this stuff. But we won't talk about that now. We'll talk about more important things like Billy Graham and Shaun the Sheep. I want to talk about Billy Graham before we do. This past week, we had the anniversary of The Passion. 25th anniversary. It's hard to think, 25 years ago, right? That Mel Gibson releases this iconic film that nobody wanted to touch with a 10-foot pole. And here it is.

1:25:35 It's become the standard. You know, I've been in this industry 80 years. And we worked through The Passion because... A long time ago, Billy Graham objected to Jesus and Nazareth, the TV program, which some people think is the best, that was done by Vincenzo Lubella, who became a good friend of mine. And it took me months going to the. Vatican, as a matter of fact, to get them to put in a resurrection because— Bill Bright, who was a close friend of mine, said was going to boycott and CBS was going to drop it. And then Mel did it and we looked at it and he didn't even have that short little resurrection that he had at the end.

1:26:21 So it took us about six months to get that in. And actually, the distribution beforehand, he knew what he was doing because he went with a guy that used to be one of the heads of distribution at Disney, who lives in Chicago, who's a wonderful guy who didn't succeed distributing other films, but he did a great job of distributing The Passion of the Christ. And the interesting thing of The Passion of the Christ is I taught the person who helped market it. How to do that. And then I would go to some Christian event like the NRB or something. And somebody said, Oh, I marketed the passion of Christ. I said, you know, he had over a thousand people working and the guy who said, Oh, I marketed it was just marketing a little half of Alabama. So, um, The misinformation on The Passion of the Christ is great.

1:27:11 It's a great movie. Now, I've got to tell you that my wife, who died four years ago, was a chemotherapy. She couldn't watch it. I tried three times to get her to watch it. I tried here when he screened it for me. I tried it at the NRB. She could not watch Passive because it's very violent. So we gave it originally a minus two. I think we've adjusted that. But for a lot of children and women, et cetera, it is way too violent. That doesn't mean we don't like it. It just means that you should be cautious for those people who are in those stages of development or those people who are sensitive to violence.

Well, the thing is, is that, you know, whether we're talking, certainly the scourging scene and the crucifixion, the whole process, and it's probably the closest you could possibly have depicted what happened with the crucifixion. You know, today we see, this is one of the things I say constantly is that we look at the cross and Jesus on the cross and it's pretty cleaned up version. And I think what Mel showed was, was, you know, Jesus as the Bible described him as being near irreconcilable. You know, you're bringing up another important issue because until Constantine around 400 saw the, as he was at the Rubicon and of course, He was outnumbered in his troops and he saw God choosing him the cross in the sky.

1:28:42 After that, churches used the cross. Before that, do you know what they had in most churches? If you go to Capernaum or you go to Ravenna or you go to any of the early churches, the mosaics, beautiful mosaics, you know what they always portrayed? No, what did they portray? The resurrection. The risen Jesus. Yep. Okay. Because the gospel does not stop at the cross. Right. It starts with the resurrection. So that's why Bill Bright was so concerned about the resurrection. If you're, you know, there's some divisions in Christianity who stop at the cross. And when you stop at the cross, you get to be very depressed. And the good news is what, through Rome, right side up, and Constantine understood the good news, although he did a lot of bad things in his life, and he refused to get baptized until just before he died.

1:29:35 So this is a big issue, and you don't want to. Talk about it. Well, no, I do, and I love this opportunity because you and I, every once in a while, we'll touch on this, and I think it's significant for our audience, especially with your background and understanding. It's always a joy to be able to get into some of these spiritual issues because for me, the significance of the cross is You don't realize what you're repenting for if you don't have a view of the cross, of all that Jesus did for us. And then to me, because that was one of the things when I had the blessing of working on the Billy Graham crusade in Los Angeles, it was actually Orange County in 1985. We had a lot of people come forward, but even still with that crusade, the challenge they had was, could they stay? could they stay committed? And one of the things that we're realizing and a lot of commentators today are saying is that, you know, it's kind of a light repentance. It's not really a true repentance because when you repent and you understand, you know, how vile our sin is and what we've done to our father in heaven and that it took Jesus and what happened on the cross to satisfy that sin and And until you're able to get that context together, I believe anyway, is that you can't quite get the full impact of why you're repenting.

1:31:06 Well, of course, you know, we don't want to drift into Donatism. No. And Donatism was refuted by Augustine in North Africa. And they took, you know, a much more pietistic view. And they said anybody who compromised with the Roman Empire And actually, we have a church here that I used to go to that now they won't let people take communion because they're not sure that they're completely saved. Well, Jesus gave the Eucharist to Judas. I mean, no man can know the heart. As Augustine said, it's not up to us to be examining people's hearts. It's up to God. It's only God. Tim Keller just had a great sermon that he was talking about. Only God changes the heart. And the change in the heart comes through the power.

1:31:52 Of the Holy Spirit. It's always the power of the Holy Spirit. And that always comes through the resurrection. If Jesus wasn't resurrected, this would all mean nothing. Oh, absolutely. Yeah, you got it. Yeah. Yeah, you have that great book, The Resurrection Factor. You know, that's what it was all about, you know, is that, hey, if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, then our faith is useless. You know, it's empty. Anyway, go ahead. You know, I see a lot of people today uh, the church was always good news until about the 1970s. And, uh, when the late great planet earth and everything hit, uh, it became bad news.

1:32:34 Uh, it went into a bad news form. Well, the, the news media is bad news. You know, the rule, cause I've had been head of a department at Berkeley, head of a department of city. The rule is if it bleeds, it leads. So you want to tell them the earth, the, uh, you know, hurricane is coming and he's going to destroy all of Florida. And then you tune into the news to find out how, where's the earth, the hurricane, when is it going to get here? What is it going to do? And then you get a little trickle of water because the bad news gets you hooked. It's news porn, but the gospel is good news. If you read any of the great books about it and what it did is it saved people for 400 years of Everything. The Romans were killing the babies. The Christians rescued the babies. The Romans were killing the elderly.

I walked through... you know, some of our Christian conventions, and it's bad news throughout the thing. The world is terrible. It's awful. They have no recollection that Jesus has triumphed. I'm so glad that you reminded us of the early signs of Christianity and the resurrection. And of course, Mel Gibson, that's his next movie coming up, what, next spring? Yeah. Yeah. And you knew Billy, but I knew Billy. I knew him from a distance, but I'll tell you, he exuded humility, Ted, like. No one I've ever been around. He told me if I didn't come to his funeral, he wouldn't come to mine. So I was at NRB. I got Dick Bott to give me a flight to Charlotte to go to the funeral. And I realized how foolish I was because he wasn't going to come to my funeral.

Yeah, you don't know that any more than, you know, and I was saying with somebody else, you know, when God told Moses that he would not be able to enter the promised land. You know, the Passion of the Christ, we talked about it last week. Fathom event this past week. And, you know, a little bit of buzz. They kind of reformatted it, you know, took advantage of some, you know, advanced technology after all 25 years later. I don't know how much bloodier you can make the scourging scene than what it is.

I don't know that I needed that one to be any higher definition than it already was, but you know, I'm sure they weird things happen with movies over time and they apparently have some, you know, magical cinematic pixie dust they can sprinkle on to make it slightly better. So there you go. Well, maybe, maybe Mel needed a little bit of front money to help him out with the next one resurrection that's coming out in spring of next year. Right. Yeah, maybe so. I mean, I don't I don't have any idea what Mel's finances are, but I think he's probably doing OK. But, you know, it seems like money is always in short supply in Hollywood. So everybody making movies always wants more of it. That's just the status quo. Yeah, I think it goes with the L.A. psychology, you know, that, you know, that the former Lakers coach, you know, talked about in his book Showtime. He called it the disease of more. You know, Pat Riley.

1:41:13 Yep. Yep. I think so. And, you know, sometimes I wonder why certain actors do certain commercials. I'm like, are you really that broke? And I guess, you know, most actors would say you never know when you're going to have another job. So you take the one you got. So, yeah, I guess. OK, I guess so. You know, whatever it takes. But anyway, interesting. Still same response for those people that did go. And, you know, we talked about the scourging scene. About 20 minutes. It is tough. But, you know, I don't know how someone who watches that, you know, doesn't reevaluate their life. Well, yeah.

1:41:54 I mean, that's the thing, right? To begin to have an understanding that Jesus willingly endured this punishment on our behalf, it should get your attention. If you're sitting there watching it, right? This is not an abstraction. This is not fiction. This happened and it happened for you and it happened for me and it happened for everyone else. Yeah. Well, Jesus confronted the insanity of the current culture, which you could say is pretty appropriate and operating today. And I mean, who would go to a cross and die for people you don't know? And certainly people that are throwing rocks at you and spitting at you.

1:42:38 Yeah, you know, people who don't know what they're doing by, you know, Jesus' own testimony about them, they were lost. But we also see a man and, you know, someone who's fully man and fully God, but with the heart of a shepherd who comes into Jerusalem and says, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how I've longed to gather you up, right? And to essentially, you know, to take. Care of them. Uh, and, and, uh, we see that, uh, almost to a person, you know, even his own disciples scatter and there's not very much faithfulness shown, but he knew all that.

1:43:19 Right. I mean, that's why he's sweating blood in Gethsemane is he knew what was in the heart of man. He knew what was coming. Um, and he did that for you and for me and for everyone else, as I just said. Yeah. And it's interesting because the father understood this. I mean, he had been dealing with this stiff neck people for how long? And riding a roller coaster ride with them because one minute they're loving him in all expression. And then the next minute they're going south and burning their kids to the God of Molech. Right. It's just, you know, again, but still, even there at that point, as Jesus is coming into Jerusalem and understanding that he's heading toward his crucifixion.

1:44:00 Yes. He cries out with sympathy for the Jews. And in a sense, you know, telling them that God still loves them, that they're still his chosen people, that they have been chosen for an eternal purpose, have they not? No, that's exactly right. And we, you know, God's people, obviously, in the Old Testament and the New Testament are, you know, the nation of Israel, right? And we as Gentiles have been grafted in, right? We have been invited to participate in the blessing that God initially said would go out through Abraham, right?

1:44:43 Exactly. And so we become a part of that as well. And we could talk for a long time about what Scripture has to say about the relationships between the Jews and the Gentiles, but the invitation and that. Door, it's open to everyone. And it's open because of Jesus. Yeah. And what opened it for Abraham was his faith. Exactly. And what opened it for the Gentiles is their faith. Exactly. And not all Jews have faith and not all Gentiles have faith, but you see how God moves infinitely and supernaturally when faith is around, right? We do, and I think it's a good segue. I'm going to take just a little bit of a turn.

1:45:26 We have a movie in theaters this week called Daniel and the Fiery Furnace, which shows that in different ways. Here we have. Daniel and his three friends, whom we know by their Babylonian names, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Their names were Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, and we know what happens, right? They are taken into the Babylonian captivity, but they remain faithful. And obviously, fiery furnaces and lions and crazy kings can't coax them into betraying the belief that undergirds them and that enables them to stand courageously, you know, in a place that's very, very difficult spiritually. And I think I think it's probably a timely and appropriate story for us now because there's so many pressures on us as believers to capitulate to the world system as it is today. But here's a movie that, again, shows how God is supernaturally at work calling, equipping, and protecting his people to do what he's called.

1:46:37 Them to do. And I believe there's a remnant that is not about their knee that God is especially calling out to. And so it's like, OK, God, so now what do I do? What's my next words? What are my next thoughts? What are my next prayers to have the impact that you want to have right now? Because, you know, what I hear all the time, first of all, is God judging us. I hear that repeatedly. And the second thing is, how can we how can we save? Of course, everything here in America is so America centric. How can we save this country? And I say, well, it's not only the country, it's the world. You know, we are so focused on what's happening here in America. We don't realize, you know, what's happening in Nigeria or what's happening with the deletes in India, what's happening with Christian and Jewish persecution throughout the Middle East, the Uyghurs, you know, North Koreans. I mean, just go.

1:47:30 I mean, this. Yeah. Are you Ukrainians? You know, I mean, just go down the list. Yeah. It's just insane. And you sit there and go. Jesus, if you don't come, I mean, forget about AI and any of these other things that'll come up and destroy the country. I think, you know, humanity is positioning itself to do everything they can to do mass destruction. Well, and that's, it's what we see in Scripture. I mean, there are different ways to interpret the ideas and the images that we see in Revelation, but I think Broadly speaking, Revelation tells us there is a culmination of history where most of humanity will join forces in one final attempt to reject God, right? And that there will be a small, again, that remnant of the faithful who cling to him. and that Israel will come under siege and then the Lord will come again. And again, there are different ways to interpret the specifics of how that all plays out. But we know what the end game is, right? We know how the story ends and we know that what will follow is is Jesus' second coming, and it will be a triumphant one. It will not be meek. It will not be going acquiescently to the cross on our behalf. He will ride from heaven, and we're going to find out, right? I mean, this is going to be a side of Jesus that we haven't seen before.

1:48:59 Well, the first time he came, he was real specific. I'm not here to judge. Exactly. But the second time, heaven helped him. The sword is coming. Yeah, exactly. Well, any other movies on your radar here? Oh, we have Shaun the Sheep, The Beast of Mossy Bottom. So if you've seen the Chicken Run movies or the Wallace and Gromit movies, it's in the same kind of territory there. A little bit of silliness, and we've got some Halloween-themed stuff. 1:49:40 Well, I did get a chance to screen a movie that's coming up next month. I'll just give you a little tease on it. Yeah. An incredible story. It's a faith-forward drama inspired by a true story of the writer, director, and producer. I mean, Beth Caulfield, I mean, she's on both sides of the camera. She's not acting. Generally, Hamblin plays her role, but it's her story, and we're talking about a... The story of a minister, a wife, a mother of nearly grown children whose plans for her next chapter in life take a surprising turn when she learns that she's pregnant at 45. Yeah. So you can only imagine what that did for her, the husband, the kids, you know, the entire family. And it was interesting because it took it through. I mean, she was very vulnerable about what she experienced and how the profession, you know, gave her and, and kept presenting the option of abortion because, you know, 45 and, you know, what happens statistically and, you know, with women who, uh, uh, who.

1:50:47 Have a pregnancy, maternal age, as they call it. Exactly. And it puts at risk both the child and the mother and all the stories and down syndrome and everything. And, and so I thought it was, uh, very vulnerable and interesting that they, uh, they addressed this, but, uh, Keep an eye out for it. It's going to be released October the 16th. Yeah, we'll circle back and talk about it next month. Yeah, and there's a book that she's written on it too that's just brilliant, all ties into the movie as well.
