Hey, thanks for having me on. Well, you know, as I mentioned to you, I flew in from Florida. Here in California, my home state, born and raised, been in Florida for the last now fifteen years, and you know, I'm seeing the shock of the gas pump myself. One of my dear friends told me the other day that he found himself at a gas station.

0:50 Is desperate. He was on zero. He had to get gas and he paid eight fifty a gallon of gas. You know, it's bad enough in Florida. I mean, it wasn't that long ago we were paying two fifths and now it's a little over four dollars. So you know, the senior citizens, they are getting a little bit cranky, but you know, nonetheless, we figure, well we'll wait it out here because it might be worth the investment to make sure that Iran doesn't have a nuclear bomb, right. Yeah, Well, you know, it's like, you know, I think the other day I filled up at almost seven dollars a gallon down down here in Orange County, And so it's it's absolutely bonkers that that that the prices are where it is. And and I think that you know, on on one hand, again, yes, when you're talking about like national security and all that kind of stuff, you know, Trump has to make decisions that he that he's got to make and and all of that. Unfortunately, I think that we're going to have to be prepared as we're heading into the as we're heading into the midterms, on how do we overcome these objections where people are literally struggling because when when you think about these gas prices are are impacting not not more it's more than just you know how much it cost to fill up your car, but it's also impacting food prices and product prices and all that as we're heading into midterms. To me, that's it's a little bit concerning on how are the Republicans going to overcome that that line of argument when people are looking at their bank accounts and like, I don't have enough money to keep buying all these things.

2:15 Yeah, no doubt about it. Well, it's still an affordability issue, which amazes me because the aff ability issue became an issue because of what Biden and the policies of the left gave us, and Trump has been trying to dig us out. And of course with the big beautiful bill, people are realizing now with the tax season, their returns are higher than expected, you know, no tax on tips. You know, some of these things are offsetting the headwinds of these increase in costs that we're dealing with. But I think the American people when they're and they seem to be understanding this, Jeff, which is good because the latest poll is showing, this is from Harvard Harris, that the less negative narrative isn't working. Seventy four percent of Americans, including sixty percent of self identified Democrats, believe we are winning the war. So shocks, you know, for Hakim Jefferies and Chuck Schumer, Right.

3:09 Yeah, no, yeah, for sure. Well, you know, and I think I think specifically with you know, interestingly interestingly enough, I think I think with this war in Iran, you know, both both Democrats and Republicans have kind of have kind of coalesced around around it for whatever reason. Again, it's it's still starkly divided. There's a certain percentage of Republicans that are opposed to it, there's a certain percentage of Democrats that are opposed to it. But also the same goes on you know, that are pro, that are pro and and that That's been the interesting thing about everything and related in relation to the Middle East, especially over the last couple of years, is that I feel like everything used to always be Democrat versus Republican in almost every decision, and then, for whatever reason, you know, after October seventh, with what happened with Israel, you began to see this splintering of both the Democrat Party and the Republican Party into where now, whether you're talking about Israel, whether you're talking about Iran, whether you're talking about all these kind of like foreign policy issues specifically, it seems to be dividing not based upon Democrat or Republican, but actually splitting both parties, which has been a really interesting dynamic to me.

4:10 Well, the rhetoric out there, and if you're not an informed voter, you know, we say on our show all the time, own your own knowledge, don't just take our word. You know, here Bill and Jeff are having a conversation there. You know, we're sending information out to you, things that we've researched and discovered. But I say, don't take my word for it as gospel. You need to own your own knowledge, be a responsible voter and understand what's going on. And it seems that more and more, especially the young people, Jeff, they they're tired of all the bs and you know, and what they want is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but and this has been our commitment of this radio show from day one. Yeah, and it's it's important that you know, you know that that's my whole mission with with with Pickaxes is to allow differing opinions to come in and let's discuss and debate. And I keep trying to reinforce this idea on my show on social and all of that.

5:00 Of you. When you take an information, don't just look at it from does this help my team, does this help my party? Does this help you know? My position? Take a look at it from the perspective of is there truth even is there a grain of truth somewhere in there on some argument that argument that's being made, and then say, do I need to reevaluate does it reinforce my position? Is there an argument that doesn't overcome my objections? And let's look at things intellectually, you know, honestly when you think about it, I think that that's something that's really been lacking as of late. The tribalism, I think has been very concerning to me and to where you know, what you're seeing as you're seeing a lot of the lot of this younger crowd, like what you said, where you know, they don't trust that anything that comes from the government. I don't trust anything that comes out of the government. You know, on every which agency you can possibly think of. They've lost our trust.

5:51 They need to earn it back. And I think that that's where when we're looking at things, we're like, Okay, so you're telling us that you released all the Epstein files, but did you really you're telling it that Epstein killed himself, but did he really? You're telling this this about nine to eleven, And then that then leads to mistrust when it comes to the arguments being made about our foreign policy and what's going in on our ranch. Should we be invading Cuba and overthrowing the government in Cuba? Should we be dealing with all these things when our government has lost the trust of a certain segment of the American people. Yeah, well, you're exactly right. And this is what we have positive on you know, our show as well, Jeff, just like you, is that you've got to pursue the truth no matter what it is. And we've lost faith.

6:35 You know, we were saying for the longest time, all the three letter agencies within our government are compromised. And look what's happening. Of course, we find out Donald Trump gets re elected, We're starting to find out all this stuff that you know, it's just business as usual that's been going on. I mean, look at how long has it been since the jfk assassination. We still don't know the truth of that, right yep. So it's like, you know, there's such a serious mess within the government and here we are thirty nine trillion dollars in debt and growing. And as I've talked with you know, several financial econ experts and say, tell me how much of that thirty nine trillion is not tied to vote getting and they said, probably every single bit of it. So if that tells you it's all about getting votes, then we've lost sight of what the clear mission is. The clear mission and that I said, and you're saying tribalism, I say, partisan politics, this Republican versus Democrat stuff. It can't be that. It's got to be you either are for America or you're against America. You either for the constitution or against the constitution.

7:37 Forget about the party representation. I mean, I want you, I want your diverse viewpoint because, like the old saying says, if two people in the room have the same ideas, one of us is redundant, none necessary. Right, Yeah, Well, you know, and I think that that you know, for me, there's two different angles that I look at this specifically, is that I don't see things happening this in the country now, especially when we're talking politics federal government decisions as Democrat versus Republican, because both parties are kind of in cahoots with with with each other. And I've seen the other side of politics. You know, they're you know there you you know, both sides need a boogeyman to campaign against to raise money and stay in control and all that kind of stuff. So there's that components. But but but then on on the on the on the on the flip side, it's like, I think I've got to I've got a really big concern within the Republican Party. Uh specifically where when Trump ran this last time around in in in twenty four, Uh, it was this big tent party mentality. I mean, you brought in Rfk Junior, You're bring in Elon Musk, you bring in Tulci Gabbert, and it was like, let's go big ten to let's you know, we take the votes away from from the Democrats because we're pulling in these these sane Democrats that we don't agree on everything, but we agree on certain positions and and that that's a good thing. Let's unify around what we agree on. But then you know, post Trump actually getting into the into the office, there's a certain segment of some of the most influential, you know, maga conservative influencers that it's like there's this purity test and you're not allowed to have an opposing opinion, You're not allowed to debate these issues

13:49 Hey we're back. When you have Bill Martinez here with Jeff Dornick and Jeff, let's go on and now want to pick up where we left off, because say, you know, this is really key. But that's like in anything when you bring a group together. You know, it's like Trump, bless his heart in a sense, he's he's like, you know, hurting cats here and he's got to pull these guy people together. And again that's the job of a CEO. As you know, you're always banging the mission drum. Okay, keep sight of this. Don't get distracted by all these shiny things that are running about or what haking, Jeffries is doing, and some of these other podcasters for the sake of clickbait and what have you. You know, you got to stay on mission, right. Yeah, well, you definitely have to stay on mission. But I think also that that you know, a lot of a lot of those a lot of those show hosts that a lot of people accuse of just posting clickbait, which I think a lot of them are, you know, but but they do represent a certain segment of the population that also do hold those viewpoints. And and and I think that one of the concerns that I have, especially we're heading into midterms where it's so important that we are able to hold on to both chambers of Congress or else Trump's not going to get anything done.

14:59 But if if we don't bring you know, go back to this big tent mentality within the Republican Party, then like, are are we going to even have an opportunity to win the mid terms? Because if you're just going to say, well, you know, clearly, you know, Tucker Carlson and his viewpoints are not welcome in the Republican Party, that's going to take out a certain segment of of of the voters that that would normally vote for Trump. And I think that that, to me is one of the concerns with the Republican Party seemingly opting this loyalty test to Trump and this in this purity test ideologically that you you have to agree with every single thing that he does within the Republican Party that you know you're going to weed out a certain segment of potential voters in a very tight race that could directly impact the future of our country. Because you know, we're heading up into these mid terms. In all reality, there's been very little accomplished legislatively by by the Trump administration. Every single thing that Trump has done from an executive order standpoint can be undone by the next president with just a stroke of the pen. And so as we're heading up to these midterms and you think about it, if we lose, then that's going to be a first sure thing. Nothing is going to actually be accomplished long term. We'll have short term games, but nothing long term, because we have to do this legislatively, and if we don't win here or pass some massive legislation between now and the midterms, then we're kind of out of luck. When you think about it, well, exactly.

16:22 And of course there's been some inhibitors, and you know, I give Mike Johnson some credit because he's trying to, you know, juggle all the balls here through. And I'm disappointed in because I'm you know, the heck with this filibuster thing. You know, they try to you know, protected like a sacred cow. Well, Harry Reid already disassembled the filibus. That's how we got three you know Supreme Court conservative Supreme Court justices on the court, and so you know, it's it's just delaying and interfering with the agenda, and they're going to end up finding themselves in the same position they were when we were going against Obamacare. Remember are we going to repeal and replace it? I know people want to blame McCain, but there were other Republicans that didn't vote, you know as well, but he was the last vote and he didn't a smart Alex stort of way. So I lost a lot of respect for McCain when he did that, because he had championed the cause himself, saying, hey, we needed to repeal and replace it.

17:16 And here he comes. He's got the moment, it's all in him. He can champion the cause, and what does he do? Yeah, well, and again it comes down to this idea that neither party truly wants it, especially the Republicans, don't actually want to fix problems. They want to put enough of a band aid on it in order to go back to their constituents and say vote for me again, because I'm fighting against the boogeyman, I'm fighting against the left, I'm fighting against the Democrats. But in all reality, they don't actually want to fix the problems. And I think the perfect evidence of this is when Trump first ran back in twenty fifteen, the outrage among the established Republican class just utterly tried to destroy the guy. Why because he came down the escalator. Where As before and all the Republicans debates they come out with their sixty eight point plan to fix the illegal immigration. It was so uber complicated, and I think it was intentional by design, so that way they could say, look, it's gonna take a long time to fix this.

18:11 And Trump comes down. He literally goes, we're gonna build a wall and we're gonna deport the illegals. It's a pretty basic thing. And they're like, well, if he actually does that, then we don't we lose that thing that we've been using to raise millions and millions and millions of dollars. We can't let that happen. And I think that what we're seeing now is that you have the legislative branch where they're trying to figure out how do we maneuver things in a way to where we can go back to our constituents and say, hey, we're fighting for you, are fighting against the Democrats, but not quite enough to actually fix the problems. And that's my concern with with what we're dealing with right now is you know, I think I think Trump's doing what he can with executive orders, which is perfectly fine. I disagree with some, I agree with some, but I'm really disappointed in the Republicans not really putting forth actual solutions to problems legislatively. It's kind of band aids at best.

19:04 Right, Well, you're exactly right. I mean, it's interesting because look at what happened last week, what we found out about the Southern Poverty Law Center, Right, it's the same scenario. They don't want to fix the problem because their reason to exist for the SBLC is racism. They knew racism was starting to fade, so they had to create. Oh, let's come up with something else. Oh, white supremacy. So you know, it's the same thing. It's how the wheels on the bus go round and round, so that you create, you know, a problem that's not there that you can fundraise off and get re elected. And you know, and the scenario goes, I mean, look look at all these Jeff, since you and I've been around, since we've been born, and we see it, and we go, has it gotten better in any in any sector? Can we look at it and say the trillions of dollars taxpayer dollars have been invested in all these areas, whether it's healthcare, whether it's national security or immigration, you know, go on down the list. Has it gotten better? No, it's gotten worse.

20:07 So what is wrong with this picture? And now you get a guy who's a true CEO, understands how to run business, how to fix problems. And what do we got? You know, we got all this interference and people, as I say, putting stick in the spokes of his wheels as he's trying to roll the country into a better place. Yeah, and and I think that we also have to look at the fact of yes, there's there's there's elected officials that that are putting their their you know, stick in the in the in the spokes and kind of kind of trying to derail it. But there's also people directly within within his administration where this is happening too, because you know, like when when RFK Junior was running for president, I actually got behind him and I was working.

20:47 I was working to you know, promote and working kind of in conjunction with their campaign and all that kind of stuff. And then you know, I was I was working really hard to kind of bring the Kennedy and the Trump campaigns together and join forces and all that kind of stuff. But what What's what's been really interesting? And I remember how a conversation with somebody very close to him about you know, like should we try to combine with Trump and all that, and it was like the thing is is that there's there's people within the Trump administration that don't want to see you succeed. And we're and we're actually seeing that play out right now where we were. We know that there's people that are severely limiting what RFK Junior can do. When he when he was running before it was the m RNA. You know, shots should never be allowed, but for whatever reason within the within the Trump administration, somebody clearly wants m R and A shots pushed forward. Do they have ties with Big Pharma? Are they getting paid off? Is look a look at Sussee Wiles. Where do you think she came from?

21:38 Exactly exactly what? And I think it was like day number two of Trump in office. Remember he was in the Oval Office with with Sam Altman and Larry Ellison announcing Stargate, which was mr which was trying to use m rn A technology with artificial intelligence and order in order to not cure cancer but combat cancer. And and it was and it was really interesting because you look at that and you're like, and again this is where I a little bit of my tinfoil you know, hat on. But Larry Ellison was started by an investment from the CIA's investment firm to start to start Oracle. And a lot of people don't realize this, but Stargate was actually the name of a CIA program back twenty to thirty years ago that that was about remote remote viewing, which is interesting because now it seems like they're using technology and artificial intelligence to do quote unquote remote viewing using m RNA and AI inside the human body. So that that was really interesting to me. But clearly somebody in the administration is not buying into the MAHA agenda and wanting true medical freedom and you know, you know, getting the truth out there about vaccines and m RNA technology.

22:43 Clearly somebody is in cahoots. You know, probably you know somebody that starts with you know, her first name starts with an S. But there's definitely somebody in the Trump administration that's severely limiting I would argue probably all of the department heads because I've been I've been disappointed in the lack of action from from a lot of I agree, but they probably also have their hands tied behind their backs. Right Yeah, And like you said, I mean, how would you like that job? Thousands of people that you're trying to manage, and they all have you know, their secret you know, decoder rings, and you know their alternate agendas and all you're there. I mean, here's a guy who's not beholden to you know, all these lobbyists and all these other interests. He's just trying to do. I believe Donald Trump, in my heart of hearts. I believe he's just trying to do right for the American people, but it's tough getting everybody else in the same you know, on the same track.

And it's you know, and I think there's another there's another you know, bit of evidence too, where it's like you look at you look at the DJ you look at the FBI cash hotel, like I've had I've had cash on my show back before. Obviously he got in the administration, you know, talking a big game about government gangsters and the FBI, and he talked to numerous times about the f scene files and all this kind of stuff. And then that now he gets into office and you know, kind of starts sliding us, Oh, there's no black book, even though he told Glenn Beck, Glenn Beck, it's literally on the desk of the FBI director, you know. And and then you know the gas lightest about the you know Epstein, you know, allegedly killing himself and all and all of this, and you're and you're like, Okay, clearly there's there's an there's an agenda here. And you know, if you go back, there was a there's a really interesting interview with Judge Napolitano where he was where he was talking about the end of his Trump's first term.

24:25 He called up Trump and was like, you know, there's one there's one promise that you made that you didn't keep. And Trump's like, yeah, tell me what it is and I'll and I'll get it done. And Napolitano tells him, He's like, you didn't release the Epstein files. You didn't, You didn't, you didn't release that, you didn't or no, excuse me, it's the JFK FILESK files. Yes, he released fifty yeah, and. And but Trump's exact words though, were, if you would have seen what's in the JFK files, you wouldn't have released it either. And I'm just sitting here like, okay, So now they allegedly release all the JFK files and you're and you're like, there's it's kind of an I think burger when you actually think about it, Like, so, what's actually in there that they haven't released that would have kept Trump from releasing it in his first term?

25:08 Like all of these things are like Okay, clearly there's things that are happening and maneuverings that are happening behind the scenes. That are keeping some of these guys from actually doing what they're leading us to believe that they're supposed to do. Yeah and threats, Jeff, Yes and threats. Good to have you with us. So great to be here. Bill, Well, so much about this book, I mean, talk about the time of this. I imagine you probably going, well, thank you God. I mean, we got all this. We've got a National Day of Prayer comings just around the corner, which I love every year. But there's something I think this year that is going to be really special about this as it kind of takes us into the two hundred and fiftieth birthday of our country that only happened because God decided to answer some prayers from some pilgrims that just wouldn't let up for about twelve years.

57:53 Right, That's exactly right, and many people after them too, Bill. The whole history of faithful Christians really crying out to God on behalf of this nation. Yeah. And the thing is is that the faithful Christians must understand that, you know, as the Bible says, the gates of Hell suffer violence. It's not a cakewalk. You know, when you signed up and you said, yes, Lord, hey, you know, welcome to the army of God. Right, that's right, that's exactly right. And there is I mean, there's a reason why God says things. I put on the armor of God because it's not going to be easy. Life on this side isn't easy, but it certainly is exciting.

58:35 And it's really exciting when we see what God is doing in the midst of our nation, of our people, and He works in the midst of the messiness and the difficulty and the trials and the tribulations to really forge something. And what I'm appreciating about this opportunity to talk with you is that maybe we can bring that focus, you know, back into clarity for everybody to say, Hey, this is what it's all about. It's not just you know, having a bigger car or bigger house and all this sort of thing. No, it's about the continuation of the ministry of God through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit.

And I think we need to stop and really look at the moment in which we're living. We were born for this moment, exactly exciting moment. As my daughter said to me recently that she knows a lot of people that live with existential dread because all the things that are going on across the world. And she had read the book when it came out back in December, but she recently listened to the audiobook and she said, Mom, your book gave me hope to know that God has been with this nation from the beginning, shaping it through the difficult times, and bringing forth something that the world has never seen before. Freedom. And so we have been We've been born for this moment and we need to step into it.

God has placed them where they are in this moment of history to do his work to bring about His kingdom in our nation. And yes, there's a battle for it, but there was always a battle for it. He's still actively at work in our nation in their lives. But it was during COVID that it really dawned on me. While we live in a in a legacy of those who went before us, who were faithful, we live in the wake of their blessing and God's blessing on them, and we don't want to lose that, and we don't want our children and grandchildren to lose that blessing of freedom.

No, exactly, And as Ron Reagan said, all it takes is one generation and we and we're very we were very close, I believe, And it's interesting right now again, at this point in time, the things that are happening, the awakening that's taking place, you know, and I keep referring it to as bonfires of revival that's taking place, and of course that's being by A key to revival is repentance. You have got to align, and you've got to meditate and consider, okay, where I am in alignment with God's purpose in God's Word and throughout the history of Christianity, you get those moments where people say, wait a minute, we're missing the mark here. Let's go back to what you know, Like you said in the beginning, this has been the theme of mine for the last couple of years. I keep telling everybody. In the beginning, yes, in the beginning, we go to Genesis, in the beginning of the country. Let's go back, you know, to to Plymouth Rock. Let's go back to you know, George Whitfield and Benjamin Franklin and the rich history that you know made this country. And as you said, even then, there wasn't one hundred percent agreement on.

1:03:43 This, no. And you know, sometimes we look at history, we read the books, we look at the beautiful paintings, and it seems like it was just easy. They just flowed through it, and nothing could be further from the truth. People gave up their lives and their fortunes, and their family and their lands to fight for the freedom that we have. And God was in the midst of that struggle, you know, forging this nation. And we are so blessed, and we need to give thanks for that. We need to remember God at this two hundred and fiftieth birthday. You know, when I wrote the prayers. I wrote the prayers back during COVID. We prayed them in congregational prayer meetings at my church. My pastor and I led them, and then they sat in my computer for about five years until God opened the door for this book to put the history and the prayer together so that others could pray, so that others could know the truth. Because when I researched the history of our nation, the Lord laid it on my heart, pray for the nation out of the history of the nation. And I went back and did the research. I found just what you're saying, God was involved in every moment. We did not learn that in school.

1:04:45 We need to relearn history because some of it has been censored. The part about God has been censored. That's the most important part, because that's the part that gives us hope. So when I put this together and I was writing those prayers, when I got to about the fourth or fifth one, probably around the Declaration of Independence, it was an epiphany for me. I thought, God himself is our founder. He does not get the credit for it. And I think that that's why God maybe waited to open the door for the book until this moment, because everybody's looking at our history right now and we want them to know the truth, and we want God to get the credit. If not for God, where would this country be? Said, we wouldn't be, we would not be. Think about it.

I go from the Pilgrims all the way through the founding, the two Great Awakenings, the Emancipation Proclamation, because not everybody was free until then, and then I look at our prosperity and exceptionalism and look forward. But think about let's just talk about that for a minute. The time of the first Greate awakening in the early seventeen hundreds. I'll tell I'll tell you what I'll tell you it. All right, I'm going to turn it over to you. Let's pick up the story. Great, Well, let's talk about that first grade awakening, you know in the seventeen thirties, when God stirred the people like Jonathan Edwards and particularly George Whitfield across America. Well, what had happened in America then? We had gone through a spiritual decline. You know, we were following God, we were earnestly seeking him during the time of the revolution because we needed his help. But then we experienced some prosperity. You know how human nature is. Once we get through the crisis, we sort of step back and we don't seek God necessarily as strongly or as earnestly and God, because we were in covenant with Him from the time of Plymouth Rock. He stirred us to return to Him.

1:11:32 So what was George Whitfield preaching. He was preaching that all that God loved all men, that we needed to be born again, that it was more important to be a Christian than the member of any particular denomination. And as the colonists heard these amazing messages from the Scripture in the power of the Holy Spirit, as he was taking them, they began to turn wholeheartedly to God. Tens of thousands listened to him and could hear him, you know, without any of the media that we out. It's miraculous, and they began to unite as Christians. The Christians came together, and that was what preceded the colonies coming together. So without that first grade awakening, I don't believe that the colonies would have ever united and had the strength to defeat the British army and maybe the greatest in the world at that time. What God did was truly miraculous, and it started with uniting Christians.

1:12:28 Right, and it started from God as revelation to Whitfield and the other evangelists that he sent to America because what they did, they presented a message that brought unity, that really began to put the substance on this American idea. And one of the keys that came out of it was God given freedom. Talk about I mean, you know, we'd throw it around today like you know, it's just another word. But at that point in time, they had come from all this European oppression and this was yeah freedom, well, yeah, from God, not from a government that giveth and take it away from God Almighty himself. I mean, this just brought people together and I mean, you know, it's like game over, right.

1:13:18 That's right. And you know, that message of freedom was based in the freedom that we get in Christ, the spiritual freedom, the freedom that comes from God alone. And the pastors were, as you well know, were influential in preaching that particular message at that time. And what happened. They held up the plumb line of scripture freedom in Christ to what was happening in the world. They related it to their circumstances and they said, wait a minute, we are living under British tyranny at this moment. This is not what God wants for us. So they related the scriptures to culture, and that's how the cry for freedom began to ring out across America, starting with the pulpits.

1:13:58 Right, and the thing is, and throughout our history it is kind of cycled and it diminished a little bit, but for an incredible individual, Charlie Kirk, who revived the concept. But you know that you're doing the right thing when you're under attack. Now, sadly we lost him, you know, to an assassin, but Charlie's legacy continues and the impression that he made and the encouragement on these young people. I mean, these college campuses have been reignited. And I say reignited because at one point they were ignited. They just kind of lost their way a little bit.

1:14:39 Right, Yes, you're absolutely right about that. And Charlie Kirk was an amazing man and God used him powerfully. We have not seen the end of God using Charlie Kirk and his messages. And I pray that it just grows. That movement among young people grows. And what you're talking about is sort of the founding of education. And I think in America. I love this fact which I learned when I was researching history for the prayers. There was so much I didn't know. And one hundred and six of the first one hundred and eight, that's over ninety eight percent colleges in America were founded in the Christian faith. Is a mind blowing statistic and I just think, Oh, my gosh, how far we've fallen. We need to get back to that place. Additionally, as you well know, there was a lot of homeschooling going on in the time of the colonies, and what was their major textbook, the Bible.

1:15:32 They wanted their children to be able to read the Bible. So that first college, Harvard, that was established and continued in sixteen thirty six, that really set the precedent for education in America to be founded and based in Biblical principles, and it created a biblical worldview for those one hundred and fifty years leading up to the time of our revelation rather our revolution. And I think that's a little bit hard for some of us to understand because we don't live in a time when most of our media is coming from a biblical worldview. We live in a time where we have a lot of pushback. Yeah, even the pastors, the senior pastors in the pulpit today, less than fifty percent hold to a biblical worldview, according according to barn And Research, and even youth pastors, youth pastors, you know what's down to ten percent. We put our kids and we go, Okay, we're going to go into the big church and we're going to send the kids to go be you know, to have time in the Bible with youth pastors. That ninety percent of them are disqualified.

1:16:41 That's that's terrifying to me. That's terrifying. This is the world. This is the world we live in, and we need to get real with reality and quit fooling ourselves and understand. You know, I often say in the show, you must own your own knowledge. Okay, you and I are talking about some things. My my prayer is that our audience will take these nuggets. I want to challenge that. Well, God bless you, go ahead and challenge it and let us know. And you know, but own your own knowledge. Find out for yourself just as you were doing as God had drawn you to this idea and this concept, and you're going, I didn't even realize that that's right. That's right, and that's called personal responsibility. Right, and you are absolutely right. In many cases in this nation, we have to some extent abdicated that we cannot trust the schools to fully educate our children, the churches to fully educate our children to know and be in that personal relationship with God. We need to take that on ourselves.

1:17:41 That's our personal responsibility. We've got to take the responsibilities of being a good citizen, of being you know, good husband or wife. That personal responsibility is so important, and God is calling us to that in our own relationship with Him. And you're absolutely right about doing the research. We all need to do our own research well. And as you said, you know, going back again in the beginning, you know, if you were going to be a teacher, you had to demonstrate that you had faith in God. If you were going to be a politician, you want to run for office, one of the keys and you know the first thing was, hey, are you Bible believing? Are you a practicing Christian? You would be disqualified if you were not. Today it doesn't matter, Well today, guess what it does matter? And look what we have.

1:18:28 Well, we are people in need of wisdom, and wisdom comes from God. We all know that His wisdom is perfect. And I often think to myself, we are such a wonderful, big, diverse nation. Who in their right mind, who could could rule without God's help. It's like Solomon said, you know, he couldn't rule without God's help. Neither neither can our leaders. Truthfully, I believe that's why God calls us to pray for them. And in the book we do pray for them in every section of the book. As you know, I have a section prayer. It starts with repentance and corporate repentance. Repentance is a marvelous word. It gives us the opportunity to correct past mistakes and turn and go in the right direction.

1:19:10 Yeah, you're refocusing on the standard. See we lost sense of the standard. If you're not in the Word of God, then you're not tuned up like an instrument. Right, That's That's absolutely correct. And then go into Thanksgiving and in the book, pray for the government, pray for our leaders. The Bible commands us to do that, Pray for our people, for our culture and the church in America. And then I ask each person to listen to what God is saying to them personally. Just like you were called to this platform, Bill, and I was called to write this book. Each person in America is called by God for his purposes, for his glory, and we need to listen in order to hear that from him, and then we need to respond to take action as our forefathers did. They just didn't stay in the churches and pray for freedom. They got out there and fought for freedom.

Great to have you with us, and also great to have Dave Pollock back with us on a different topic altogether, because May is brain tumor Awareness month and we have a message that can make a real difference for you. As I mentioned, David Pollocks known to many as a former NFL player, college analysts, and recently a new author, but after his wife Lindsey's brain cancer diagnosis last year, this issue became deeply personal. Now he's using his voice to encourage others not to put off important screenings and early detection, plus his role as an AFLEC Check for Cancer champ. David, Welcome, Michelle. Good to have you with us. Bill, thank you having me on brother.

1:26:03 Well, your new book, Every Day Counts talks a lot about perseverance, including your wife's battle with brain cancer. You know, talk about your journey here if you would, Well. I think, Bill, you don't. You don't know what you don't know until you experience a lot of different things. And so this last year, when you hear the C word and you get a cancer diagnosis, it changes the way you think, It changes the way you feel. And I didn't know last year that brain to brain cancer awareness was the month of May. Like I would have never known that. Now I know all about it, and so just walking through it with our with my wife and our family. I mean, we had a seventeen and a fifteen year old who's had to also be in on this journey and the surgeries that come with it, you know, redoing yourself, relearning yourself. She's learned how to use her left hand again and learning how to speak again, and that processor and using all the different things. But like it's been fun to watch God move in a storm like hard times, but just fun to watch her be able to do stuff like that, walk again, celebrate again.

1:27:02 A lot of times we take our health for granted because we have good health, right Bill, and we walk and we give new things. And the more we the more that feels normal, the more we go along in life. And then sometimes we get kicked a little bit and we're like, all right, this isn't something I should take for granted. So we've had a lot of grace in the last year well exactly. And you know, when you rely on God in such a way as your famili has had to through this experience, you have learned about God and appreciated God and a whole different measure altogether when you go through this and to see His faithfulness through this journey, that you know that everything's going to be okay, that this too shall pass.

1:27:42 Right absolutely, And I think that that's the fun thing about life when you realize, like we serve a God that is for us. He's not against us, but but we're going to have circumstances that seems like it's very much against us. But those circumstances, man, they don't define us, that they refine us. They make us feel understand, make us understand how grateful we are to have air in our lungs and be able to do all the things. And with my wife, man like Bill, one of the most important thing is like her understanding and finding this early. And that's why we want to share this message. That's why it's important to Affleck, That's why it's important to me. Like she has this ear pain, it's not that big of a deal. We go get images she's got a mass on her brain and we know that, and so we're able to check it and monitor it for the next couple of years and then we saw when it grew right, and so then we were able to come in and understand that we had a battle on our hands.

1:28:33 But it was it wasn't before, you know, we didn't have all the headaches and seizures and all the hard things that came with it. Because we found it early, We're had a real opportunity to fight. And that's why, you know, don't wait. Make time for your cancer screenings. Make time for your checkups. Bill, even you if you're really busy, brother, like, find some time to make time for that because it's so important. We get one body, you know, let's make sure we take care of it well exactly. And David, I'm a survivor of answer prostate cancer, and it caused me to really appreciate the miracle of our body that God has created for us. And if you treat it right and you do the right things by it, it will treat you right as well. And early detection is so key, and I was able to catch mine early.

1:29:19 I monitored very closely, and finally it came down to where I had to make a decision. That's awesome, Bill. Well, that's great, and listen, there's millions of stories. There's thousands of stories across the country of that, right, people finding it early, and the rates, the numbers don't lie. Right, They're going to show you when you find it early, how much of a chance you really really get to fight. So don't wait. Listen. I know we have those aches and pains, and we have those things that makes us feel like we getting old, because we are. We ain't getting no younger. We are we are blessed. We understand that not everybody gets that opportunity. But I'll tell you this, man, because of Athleck and because of all the people that have put in a lot of work for all these years, we get to be.

It's literally about our struggles and how God continues to be faithful and show up, and how those struggles haven't defined us, they've refined us right, and it made us better versions of ourselves. And how it's developed empathy and sympathy and compassion for other people that are struggling and going through different things. So it's just been a great reminder. And this book, this book will challenge you now, Bill, Like, if you don't want to be challenged, Bill, you picked up the wrong book.

But like, if you don't want to be challenging, you don't want to be competitive in your life, and start putting some systems in place to make everyday count and challenge yourself and create a scoreboard, because I think men and women both we operate better when we have that scoreboard and we have something to chase and pursuit. Too much easy, too much easy. In our life, too little hard, and so creating some of those ways to see if we're winning and losing every single day, I think is a good thing. Dave. I was one of nine kids, So what do you think you know you had to fight, Yes, sir, you did exactly. So Hey, no, I was very blessed. We had great parents and a great fas family. We were blessed so so much. And you know, going back to what you're saying, you know, the word of God says he who knows their God will do mighty exploits that knowing God is through the experience, and you experience God through something that you know could have destroyed families.

1:33:17 But what it did, it did just the opposite. It brought you closer together as a family, but also closer to God because you, as you said, God's faithful. Always in every season, in every storm of life, He's faithful. He's there. And if you're not in a storm, I got some really really bad news. One's coming right, like it is coming. For sure for you and for your life. So to watch him work and listen sometimes we feel like we're in control, right and I got this man, everything's smooth now. You probably didn't feel like that, being one of nine dog you probably fod you had something every day that was slapping you in the face. But like you get going in life and it just gets easy and you take your health for granted, you take different things for granted, and then you have something that slaps you outside your head and you're like, okay, this this life is temporal man, Like we're only here for a little bit of time. And to watch him work and do his thing, it's it's really fun to be a part of it.

Bill, and also Mike Huff, the co president Numbers USA. It's been a minute, Mike, good to have you back on. Welcome. Yeah, glad to be here. Well, lots to talk about. First, let's catch up with a Congressman Barrymore, the Republican out of Alabama, introducing the Americans First Immigration Act last week. Tell us about that.

1:39:43 Yeah, A lot of people when they think about immigration and the problems, they focus on illegal immigration, but they don't realize that legal immigration is in itself a huge problem. So, on average, about a million people coming in the country through the legal immigration system. Now, if you look in de side that million, about only about fourteen percent one hundred and forty thousand actually employment based visas. Those are people that are coming for jobs, people we need for our economy. The vast majority are of those employment based people. They're their extended family. They're their siblings or their parents. And then what happens is all those people when they come in, they get to bring in their extended family. So we have this immigration system that was set up by LBJ that's completely outdated, doesn't fit our economy, drives down the wages of Americans. And what this bill is does is pretty simple. It creates a merit based system for people that come in there, people that have education degrees our economy actually needs. It gets rid of this extended family chain migration, so would lower our immigration numbers and it would in return drive up wages for average Americans.

1:40:53 That makes too much sense, that does? I mean this has been a long time coming. I mean how long have they kicking this around? Right? Yeah, it's actually the first. The last time that we had a bill similar to this was the Raise Act that Senator Cotton introduced during the first Trump administration. So just getting the bill introduced and getting Congress to address this problem, to look at legal immigration, realizing that it's broken and that we need to fix it. That that's been a huge step just getting the bill introduced. Well, my cuff, I got to tell you, they're quick to say it's broken, but they're very slow to come up with any solutions. I mean, this is the thing that's so frustrating. It's like, Oh, they'd much rather have it as a talking point and fundraise off of it, especially in election seasons. Right.

1:41:39 Yeah, And I'll give you an example of something that this bill fixes. There's this thing called the Diversity Visa Lottery. So if you're from a country that doesn't get a lot of visas to the United States, you can enter a random lottery. You can win a lottery, and fifty five thousand people year come to the United States because they want a lottery. That's not a good way to pick people to come to the United States. That's not a good way to know that these people were beneficial in our country add to our economy. So what this does, instead of having a random lottery deciding who comes in, we have a merit based system. We're bringing people who are based on education, based on their working skills, based on what they can add to our economy. These are people that are going to pay taxes and not draw from welfare and public benefits and cost money. So I think that's something that you know, the vast majority of Americans would support that.

1:42:25 Well, Mike, you know, like you said, the immigration process has been purposely complex, and you know this has been an act of a party because they have found some benefit to have open borders. And there are so like you say, there's so many elements to this. And at one time the country had a handle on immigration. They were they were managing it in a way that was beneficial. It needed to evolve and update, be updated because of you know, technological advances and all these, like you said, and merit base needed to be highly considered, but that got thrown out the window. So here we are trying to manage open borders, this hostility towards a government entity loose sole job is to get the bad people who've come into the country out of the country, and you know, it just it just muddies up the waters. If you were king, well, what are the three things you would do? Okay?

1:43:27 Well, number one, you're right, we do need to secure our borders. And while Trump has secured them through executive actions and we're seeing nowhere near the numbers. The numbers are down to a mere trickle the southern border. The problem is the minute that you have a new president, come in, a president Gavin Newsom, I know you're out on the West coast, so come in. He can change with a stroke of the pen can undo all of that. And so we need to put in laws fixing asylum other things to fix the borders, and then we need to fix our legal immigration system. Historically, prior to nineteen sixty five, I believe it or not, the immigration numbers were about two hundred and fifty thousand people coming in a year, and then they jumped after nineteen sixty five all the way up to a million a year. Now we are historically high just legal immigration numbers. So I would fix our legal immigration system, lower the numbers, and go to a system like most Western democracies have, which is a merit based system.

1:44:23 Yeah, what do you bring to the dance here? And that you're not going to be a burden? I mean because even when you come in legally, I think we're up to, like you said, about a million immigrants that we allow to come into the country legally, they must have a sworn statement They're not going to be a burden on the people. They've got, you know, family members that are sponsoring in them, you know, and it's got to be frustrating for them who come in. They've stand in line, some have waited for you know, ten years, some even longer to come in, and they've earned their way and their opportunity to become citizens of this great country. And then all of a sudden, you got open borders and people are getting healthcare and all the other stuff along with it. I mean, it's no wonder the people are frustrated. No wonder that they think, you know, fraud.

1:45:09 Who cares about fraud? I mean, there's so much fraud happening in front of everybody's face. You know, why should I have a conscience about, you know, stealing any money from the government. Yeah, we saw that test in real time during the Biden administration. If you have open borders, other countries will use it, they will abuse it. This is the greatest country in the face of the world, and my humble opinion, and there are billions of people all around the world that would love to come to the United States, but we can't have billions of people come to the United states. We have to have a regulated, orderly process, and we have to have a process that benefits Americans. And that's what's so great about represented Barrymore's Bill of Alabama, the Americans First Immigration Act. It puts Americans first. It has an immigration system that benefits our country and our citizens.

And the thing that's tough, it's got to be frustrating for legen, like you know, Bary Moore, is that this is something that has so much common sense wrapped into this bill, and then you've got these antithical forces that have made an industry to be illegal immigration, and you've got this resistance that's taking place. So it's counter you know, good policy, good politics because it's self serving. This here is to serve America and Americans, you know, the citizenry of we the people. Yeah.

1:46:34 And it's a bipartisan problem too. I mean, it's not just the you know this this amnesty and open borders folks, it's Republicans too. It's not just the Democrat Party, even though the Democrat Party in d C has become more in unison for it. There's a bill right now called the Dignity Act actually a Republican Salazara Florida put in, and it's got twenty Republican co sponsors on it. The bill would shut down Trump's deportations, and it would give amnesty to over eleven million illegal immigrants. And finally, unlike this bill, it would increase legal immigration, would increase the flow of people coming in and therefore drive down American wages and make it harder for Americans and first generation immigrants and those who are trying to live the American dream to obtain that.

1:47:20 Well, and even with you know, Representative Salazar's you know calculus on this, and I've tried to talk to her several times because I'm going to it doesn't add up. You know, It's just, you know, the way you're proposed. I mean it sounds nice, I mean typical, you know Beltway kind of language, the Dignity Act. Who doesn't want dignity? I mean the problem is is that when you violate dignity to begin with, you know, then we're supposed to make you whole, you know, to forgive the fact that you've broken the law and you have you know, pillaged our treasury. Yeah, absolutely, so it has amnesty in there for over eleven million illegal immigrants, and like I said, for two years, it would completely shut down the deportation So no matter.

1:48:05 So they claim it doesn't it doesn't affect the people who came in under Biden. That's not accurate because basically it would shut down all enforcement for the next two years the rest of the Trump administration. And this is Republicans doing this. These are twenty Republicans co sponsored legislation to shut down President Trump's deportations. So you know, we have these fights on the hill where you see the Democrats are trying to defund ice and you know, shut down DHS funding for seventy two days. Well, Republicans, it's it's not the majority, but there's a handful and there's twenty on this bill that are a major problem. That are that are part of it, trying to shut down deportations and adding to the lawlessness that we're seeing.

1:48:48 Well exactly, and Mike, I mean, okay, she wanted to defund ice, you know, the the legal and lawful mechanism to help manage what you said you want to do, and that is illegal immigration, and you want to shut them down. And what you do is you unleash lawlessness, and this is exactly what's going on here in our country and for some reason, and of course the mainstream media is culpable in this because they're not reporting on it in a way that would help educate people and help them understand, you know, what does legal immigration look like? What should it look like in America? Yeah, and so our argument is, obviously we would agree, is that illegal immigration should be as closed to as zero.

1:49:33 And then we need to look at the legal immigration system, which is the million coming in this bill. The America First Immigration Act would reduce legal immigration around seven hundred and twenty five thousand. Every bipartisan commission that's ever looked at the legal immigration system recommended lowering those numbers, recommended ending illegal immigration. And so that's what we're pushing for. Whereas the Dignity Act is the exact opposite of that. It gives lawlessness amnesty to illegal immigrants, and it would increase legal immigration. You'd have about one point two million people coming in a year, So it would increase chain migration, increase the problems with the legal immigration system, and further drive down wages. And that's why you see a lot of the large business community others behind it because it is a real cheap labor bill.

It's critical to voter be informed, and there's some checklists that they should look for in considering their candidates. Right, absolutely.
