Thank you so much for coming on to talk about you know, the latest here regarding Trump's announcement that he's taking troops out of Germany and NATO is like, whoa, what's going on here? I mean, first he comes to NATO says we're not paying enough. And you know this, this war with Iran is really creating a divide between NATO and the United States, Is it not?

0:51 Well, I think it is, but it's taking us I think where Trump always wanted to go, even in his first administration. I think it's valuable for the for the listeners and viewers to know that our defense of Europe since World War Two has at actually allowed socialism in those countries to flourish. But they would be spending on their own defense. They have exactly socialism socialist programs and taking over various elements of their of their economies so that their their health systems are afforded by our being their defender in the feeding, so to speak. So I think it's time that the band Aid get ripped off with NATO, right that they they should be able to, you know, as much as governed themselves, also defend themselves.

1:46 Right. You know, it's interesting because some of that dynamic can be relevant here in the United States because of certain things we do in this country. We've lost sight of our priorities. You know, we're spending an incredible amount of money on illegal immigration, uh, these DEI projects, and you know, these other goofy things that we're involved in. And meanwhile, our debt keeps, you know, growing by you know, by trillions. We're thirty nine trillion in counting, and and then Social Security is about to be bankrupt. Yes, and I would take this, I would take that a step further too. I think that you know that the reason we have such a problem is that all the wealth of the states are put into a central treasury and then redistributed, not based on the virtues of whatever state policy there is, whether that's California, Illinois, or Missouri. Right, it's just thrown out of Washington, d C. In a redistributionist scheme that you're right, affords illegal aliens their place in our society.

2:52 They then we have a Then we have a subset of NGOs that come in and absorb that money. And then you know which really benefits the Democratic Party because it's created a machinery that ensures their reelection. Let's put it that way. Yes, it is, it is an you can say it's a it's a scheme on an industrial scale. Yes. That money goes out of the central Treasury through the administrative state, which the Democrat Party owns, right, all those agencies. Then it goes to all the recipients of dependency dollars from taxpayers to dependents, and then goes from them back to the Democrat Party. So it's how they profit bill.

3:37 In our world, if you own a business, you have to make a product people want to buy. In the Democrat world, they have to take money from those people and give it to those who haven't earned it so they can stay in power. The fix is in. The fix is in Richard, That's what it is, and it's disgusting the remedy is a return to federalism. Tell me if you agree where every state individually has to take care of their own dependence. Right, If California had to pay itself for every dependent illegal alien in their state, they have different policy than being a sanctuary state. Right, And the persons who pay taxes would be in an uproar.

4:19 Yeah, and it would probably be a death nail for socialism, Yes. It would absolutely be that. So again, the same thing that's happening in Europe. I mean, you look at what's happening in Europe right just to your point, and here we are, Yeah, yeah, because now you can you only have so much money and you have to prioritize and make sure that is actually working for you because you know, as you and I have been discussing in the recent months, is that you know you've got this this waste within you know, Blue states because the policies that they promote and then they're going to go to the red states. We're about fifty to fifty twenty five states or blue twenty five are red, and they're going to come to red states and say we're out of money, we need we need you to pay for our inefficiencies, and this is what Europe is doing.

5:04 They're they're looking to the United States to cover their socialism. Yes, exactly, that's it. I hadn't thought about on that sort of scale, but it's very true. It has been for fifty years. I mean, it's even longer since World War Two. So so what are you and I the only geniuses on the planet that have figured this out or what? Well? I think I think there's a I think there there has to be ending this holier than now idea that the Democrats are always better because they're trying to take care of people. They're not. They're trying to set up a circular process where they stay in power because they get all the money back in their clawfers.

5:46 And so. I think it needs that we need to federalize the system and stop redistributing out of Washington, DC. You know, it's amazing because. Kentucky and profit by their virtue. You know what you're saying here, Richard, is the same thing. You know, the Democrats have just refined this process, the systemic program that they've been able to develop. And you go back to even let's just say, you know, the mid sixties when LBJ. Said, Okay, we want to secure a voting block here having to be Black America, right, So they create they create a solution for a problem that didn't exist. That really, I mean, And it's so incredible to me because here we were, for all these years trying to get blacks out of slavery and telling them they're free. And what does Johnson do. He comes up with a program to modernize slavery and enslave the black people back again.

And what happened was that Michael Harrington, one of his chief advisors, was a socialist, and he said, you have a whole block of dependent of people here that can be as reliable a vote as the un and you can pay them to stay that way. At the time, and this is what not many people know Bill. At the time, African American salaries were rising in tandem equal to every other race in America. After that happened when the Democrat Party Great Society Solution destroyed the African American family, it went like this, Yeah, everybody else prospered, and the African American wage earner went through the floor because they stayed at home.

7:34 Yeah, well, and look at their population growth Richard, Yeah, I mean Planned Parenthood. I mean they devastated. You get the government devastating Black America. You get Planned Parenthood coming and killing their babies. And look where they are right now. I mean, you know Bob Woodson who's done an incredible study on this and shows it, you know, in dark empirical data, and it's amazing that you know, people like Jesse Jackson and these other race hustlers came in and you know, and of course the Poverty Law Center as well. And of course that's why the Poverty Law Center got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, because they're freaking out going, hey, we're losing our reason to exist.

8:15 So we don't read something in the country, right, let's finance it really bad stuff. And you're right, but they've made a they've made careers out of their position in the Democrat Party to get the windfall of funds that go to them because they take up the cause of plant literally plantationing. Yes, the African African American community throughout the country. And why should we be surprised because look at even when you know blacks were enslaved, they were enslaved initially by other blacks. I'll tell I'll tell you what. Let's go to break. What we're talking about is how this this systemic program has taken full advantage of you know, of the American people and our our treasury, and you know, and and also the peapeople who have been subject to it. It's like Jews voting for the Nazis. Yeah, you know, we voting for the persons who the party that from the beginning of the country was the enslavement party, the party that was the Jim pro Party then became the party that destroyed the African American family. Right, it's it's remarkable in our history.

It's but it's how the Democra Party has built itself and all the parties throughout Europe that are socialists in their nature, the more people they can bring in and in Europe it's all the europe populations and make dependent. The more they have a living army there they can call on at any time to go march. In our case it's bing lemin Antifa. Sure, go down and burn down a city, and that sure helps the African Americans, does not. Right, exactly well, and look at now the latest group that's in their net are the Somalis. You know, with a base of some eighty thousand, right, they own questions, they own the state.

All the office holder and most of America, I believe, you know, looks and sees elan O. Yeah, she didn't even she didn't know the World war that we freed Europe with. And then but that but this is the case. So we free Europe from World War two, right, and socialism.

We pay for it. Yeah, yeah, it's it's insane. I gotta tell you right now, I'm in California, and I'm amazed. And Nick Shirley comes in exposes fraud, and the government says, oh, no, we can't have that. We've got to create a law that outlaws anybody, you know, revealing all this fraud that's going on in our state. And so just like David de Leighton, who you know, he finally got his case settled after ten years settled, they just let it go.

17:51 I mean they got tired of just you know, this guy's legal bills were in excess of a half million dollars. He went to jail playing parenthood. Who did the illegal activity of selling baby barts. Nobody went to jail, and America is still giving them money. Well, here's the problem with it. The Democrats control the governmental institutions in those blue states. Yes, with that, they have a treasury for lawsuits that's without a bottom. You can look at it as how they attacked Trump with lawfare. The only reason he survived is because he has the amount of wealth he has to defend himself. Right, all Americans like you and I, if you're attacked by the government, it's over. I mean, as you said, ten years, it'll bankrupt you and it'll get you a prison term.

18:46 And yeah, look look at all the jan six Americans. What happened to them? They didn't have the wherewithal and their in solitary confinement. And you know, just to go down in history is one of the greatest injustices ever. Yeah, and who's going to pay for that? Just like the same people that got away. They're not same people, but the same idea of these people that got away with killing over a million Americans with COVID. Right, there's no consequences lied through their teeth, through their mask, one two or three of them whatever. Right, no, very seriously in it. It had And that's another problem where you have a press that runs cover for bad actors. I mean, look at I mean, just take James Colby Yah. This guy is a horrible character in American history, and he is covered by the East made of hero. Yeah, they buy his books, they'll give him interviews, they'll have them give talks at Harvard. It's it's really the left. I don't think Bill really knows who they are. And that's the point of the second volume of the DNA of Democracy series that they really don't know by definition who they are anymore.

They want the disassembly of the American Dream and this democratic republic. You know, Barack Obama said, hey, look at fundamental change. You know, this is fundamental transformation of this country. And he ushered it into play and had eight years of you know, capturing our healthcare system, which is so bad. We knew was bad to begin with, and now it's even worse because. We're system any education system very much that he during his presidency, the government itself took over the financing of higher education, right Vladimir Lenin. No less a socialist than Vladimir Lenin said the two lynch pins to socialism being successful is to seize the healthcare industry and seize education.

Well, and it's not like, you know, the labor unions in the education administering complex, the industrial complex of it all hadn't been going on already for decades, because at the turn of the nineteenth century twentieth century, they went hull hog after it. Well, what occurred was Woodrow Wilson, who was a socialist and was president of Princeton. He famously said during the revolution in Russia, well, the Russians have it wrong. They're doing this by revolution. We can do it in America and get to the same end by evolution if we do it in little increments here and there. And so you had FDR who invaded the economy, and it's been you know, the government has had a board seat in every major boardroom in America since and that you had LBJ taking over education and redistributing wealth. Then you had Obama sealing the deal in healthcare and education. So this is it's been a game plan for a century.

22:08 And here we are on the verge of celebrating our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, and you know, arguably you could say it could be our last. Well I wouldn't say, I would say everybody, No, it sounds dire. I know it sounds extreme. Wake up Democrats more than anybody, right, because we're a hybrid country and we're fighting each other. And the bad point is where we have a problem is the Democrats now that they can't win at the election booth, rig elections. Failing that, they are turning to violence. Yes, whether it's against ice or whether it's assassination attempts. And about the federal debt bill. My great worry is they literally don't care if the economy crashes because it works in their favor. Right, then they can take over everything, as they did with fdu Are during the depression. It gives them a reason to control more.

23:05 Well, maybe that's why we got then we got Maduro here, because America will become Venezuela and we'll already have somebody to lead the country. You know, he's got all this experience. Oh, I think Michelle Obama's you know, she's she's straining at the bit to control this country. Yeah, quite possibly. That's probably why she refused to take the nomination and become, you know, the first woman black president, you know, for the Democratic Party. I think I have my own theory. I think she was ready to go. But Pelosi kneecaptor and Biden kneecapped. They the Obamas were waiting for the convention, and they were saying, look, don't anybody do anything. Wait for the convention, because they were going to bring her on as a surprise, and every vote by acclamation it asked to be Michelle.

I'm good? How are you at? Bill? Hey, I'm doing terrific. I'm excited to share with you this idea that I believe God revealed to me. You know, when God gives you revelation, it's like you can't help but share it with others. And there was a question that came up here recently, and this pastor had talked about God withholding grace, you know, from us, And I don't think it's that God wishold grace as much as it is because we're free will agents again, and sometimes it's hard for us to understand. You know, Adam and Eve were free They were designed to be free will agents because you can't have true love if you don't have the free will to make a choice for love, right, And so God created us to have that freedom. And so what Adam and Eve decided to do was to make a bad choice. And that's a manifestation of love.

29:32 Is you have the choice good or bad. You can have a choice and you make But if you make the wrong choice, then you can compromise your covenant with God and fall out of grace. It's not that God decides to deprive you of it. It's just that in our own honorariness, in our own arrogance, we move out from under submission the covenant. And so submission is being under the protection of So when you're under the protection of God, God like gravity, you do what God says about gravity. You don't violate it. Gravity is a good thing. If you violate gravity, you fall off the roof and you get bruised up and break some legs and hurt yourself. That's not a good thing. But God, in his manifested love, allows us to make that choice. And so this was something that God had revealed to me, and I thought, wow, this makes so much sense because when you think of God, he's the same yesterday and forever right. He doesn't change, he doesn't lie, So everything is set. It's all It's a system that God has established for our good, that when we operate in those boundaries, it goes well for us.

30:39 He says, that will receive the full blessing of the covenant relationship that He designed for us to have. We go out from beneath that because we think we have a better way. Like Adam and Eve, though they were influenced by the devil himself, thought okay, well maybe this is a better way, a wrong choice, but that's you know, when it comes to true love. That's true love that allows you to make the choice. And then we learn in that in the choices that we make, we learn about God's love. We learn about this and then we realize what it says in the New Testament that those who know God experientially by making bad choices do mighty exploits.

31:20 So what do you think. I think the principle that you're speaking about lines up with what Jesus said. The truths us set you free, right, and the truth is aligning with reality. Is God's set it up right. And so when we follow God's way, it sets us free to experience the type of life that he wanted us to experience. Exactly if we step out of truth, which is God's ways, then we have consequences and relationships break up, just as from God grows et cetera.

32:02 Yeah, because God, he designed us to be in communion with him, Right, and you imagine when we're communing with God, Hey, all is well, right, regardless in the midst about how crazy and wacky the world may be, but we're communing with God. And this is how you come to that point. Like Paul said, I've learned to become content no matter the condition. Right. Yeah, I know that the greatest freedom that a human has is the freedom to be the noble, other, centered, loving, gracious, made in the image of God person that He designed us to be. But we know that because of that rebellious choice, Aboudam and even all of us, the sin nature that we are born with, we.

32:52 Don't normally live like that. So we really need to align with God to get his presence inside of us, so then we can live up to living His way. The Ten Commandments set us free. If we didn't follow the Ten Commandments, we would be trapped by not just the sin, the separations from God, but the consequences of ruining relationships with one another, murder, stealing, lying the lack of civility, right, families wouldn't stick together. So God's ways lead to shalom, that comprehensive peace of thriving in God's way. So you know, and also you know, you started this whole thing by saying God is gracious and that he gives us the freedom to love him and obey or not love him and not obey. Right, And it's really not love if you twist someone's arm and say you will do everything I say and you will love me.

33:47 You know that's that's not love. You mean you mean tell me that's not the perfect marriage, Jeff. I think it didn't work in years for the first thirty years. Same here. Anyway, God will give people what they deeply want and ask. And if they want independence from him and they want to be their own God and they want to make the rules, then they're going to end up with the consequences that which is separation from love, separation from truth, separation from God, and it could end up in eternity, separated from God. He doesn't force or send people to hell. People choose hell when they say no to God. And you know, all of us are trusting that the people who do not know God around us were praying that they would come by God's spirit to know Him before they pass away. But God isn't going to force people away from him. He gives them what they want. And I pray that more people would realize, man, without God, my life is messed up.

34:53 I'm not a good God. I'm not a good boss. I'm not a good owner of my life. I want God as the owner of my life, benevolent and kind than me. And that's what I've been learning. God is so much cooler, so much nicer, so much more creative and loving and benefit, you know, benevolent than me. Why would I try to hold on to certain parts of my life and not let God control them. Let God be the owner of your life. Surrender exactly because you know, we hear often this these days, that what we need is love and throughout our life, Jeff, that was it, you know, Beatles songs and other songs of artists and everything. You know, the theme always came back, you know about love and you know and this is this is the manifestation of true love that God, God gives us an example of is that he gives us the freedom to to make that choice, to choose to love him and to come into communion with him. He's not going to force you to do it. And just like you said, and and we we can learn from that ourselves in our relationships with others. We don't force thembody into our political you know, persuasion or whatever it is.

It's like God shoots the arrow of justice and punishment at himself for what we humans have done. And if that isn't the ultimate of a gracious God, I don't know what is. God takes the punishment for us, gives us the promise that he will never flood and wipe out the earth again. And your path back to me is that I will take the punishment. I will launch the arrow of justice at myself and sacrifice my son on the cross. So think of the rainbow that way next time you see it.

We just take it in and it just you know, we don't even realize how much we stink because the stuff that God has given us is not blowing out to others. And this is the benefit. You know, we want to be alive and God creates us to be alive when we are a giving agent, when we're an agent to the rest of the community. I mean, you know the things that you just talked about, you know, focus on the family.

But also I think that's a lot of blessings that are going out there right both way. Yes, it is right, you know, I just think about all the families who said, yes, God, you can use my family. Because everybody's not called to foster. Going to make that clear bill, but everybody's called to do something. If you can cook, if you can clean, if you can rake leaves in the yard if you can come and cut the grass so dad can have date morning daytime with his wife. They're going to go out and have coffee, but your you and your kids are gonna come over and cut the grass. Whoo yeah, more time, more time. But what if you're doing the whole helping do the homework for the kids who were in foster care.

47:47 Maybe you're sitting down reading with them. Every Tuesday evening, you come and you let them read aloud and you read with them, and it helps that child grow. But that's time that that couple who's opened their heart, open their home can have time for themselves. Because the marriage makes a difference. We want to continue to support that marriage, support that family so that they can support the kids. Yeah, because here they are, I mean, they're taking on a load here so to speak, right, and so we need to help them carry that load. And you mentioned all these things, which is you know, I'm thinking our audience is probably think, you know, I hadn't even thought about that. And even you know, can you give five minutes a prayer? Can you include them on your prayer list?

48:29 I mean, and you'd be surprised, you know how that is going to bless you. But this is all part of the engagement element of what Focus does and is committed to with foster homes, right. It is it is that engagement piece is so important. Christ engages us and then we take what he gives us and we share it with someone else. And that's the next piece to that is support. And so Friday evenings, you guys go ahead and go out, and I've got the kids, I've got the kitchen, and so there's there's four of us that are going to be in your home. Take but you know us because we're in community, we're in relationship, and that keeps that family motivated continuing to encourage them and support them to do the heavy lift of caring for vulnerable children.

49:34 You know, Sharon, I love people who have the gift of organization. Right. They'll come into a house and you're going, hey, this is all cool. I don't have a problem with this. And they come in and they bring order to the you didn't even know you had chaos, right, and they come in and in five minutes, everything is in order. It's a place here, it is. You know, it takes a little bit of adjustment because you're kind of used to the chaos. But all of a sudden you find you go, oh my goodness, this there's order all because a neighbor or somebody in the support group who is gifted with this. Oh my goodness, they're they're they're worth their weight in gold, aren't they? They sure are. You know, there's some people who are ready for spring cleaning. I know that it's here in the month of May. Boy, come over and help me get the bat the clothes ready to go to goodwill or the thrift store, or to donate to the clothing closet closet at church. Help come in and thin out my closet. Boy, What a wonderful support that would be.

50:31 And then wait, there's some garages that might need some reordering. Talk about being organized. Help dad reorganize that that garage so that he knows where all his tools are and everything straight. And so Mom's not saying where is that, where's this? Where's that? It's right there in the garage. It's hanging up. Come help dad. He needs a little support too. You know, it's interesting you bring up a spring cleaning because I just, you know, saw it is just a general term until I realize that it's scriptural. You know, God calls us to you know, take this period of time and to do some spring cleaning, to you know, review where we are, the chaos, you know that maybe has crept in, and to go in and deal with this and that we're always you know, so much better.

51:20 And there seems it's amazing how a load you know I mentioned a load, how that is lifted off of us after a you know, a time of spring cleaning, right? It is? It is? It is, Bill boy. You know. Encouragement, I can't. There are some people who have the gift of encouragement. They when they sit with you and they just remind you that God's all over you, that that God sees you, that God hears you, that they are there to support you with words. There sometimes they're just there to hear, to support you with a cup of coffee, to let you listen to you and then as they listen to you, remember to lift those things before the Lord in prayer. Sup boy, I can't tell you how engagement connecting with a family, wrapping those supportive services around a family, and then encouraging someone. We all need encouragement, some of us. Boy in the when it's late evening, you know, nine ten o'clock, the kids, have you finally got them in bed? You're finally There's some single foster parents out there. They need to hear another adult voice who says, you know what God sees you.

52:33 You're not forgotten, because it's so easy to be isolated. But God says we are connected and we are interconnected with Him. And so the body of Christ is that hospitality station. That the Body of Christ is that first aid station. So give some support, to give some encouragement to those single foster parents as well, because they don't have a maid in the home. They need that extra boost to keep on doing and keep on going in Christ Jesus exactly. And doctor fort I think that again, unless you've been engaged with foster care, you really have little idea of what these adults deal with the children, how they've been bruised and beat up and wounded by their circumstances. And then these families, like you said, it's not just the mom and Dad, it's the kids, it's the entire family come in and say hey, look at you know, yeah, we want to help, We want to contribute. And as you say, the blessing is available for those neighbors who are nearby that say hey, look at we can be a helping hand. We can all participate in this because you don't you don't know the individual stories necessarily, because even the parents themselves are discovering as the child come in.

53:49 We have enough, We have enough challenge in some cases trying to discover the challenges our own kids are going through much less these kids who come in with various you know, wounds and backgrounds that are unimaginable. Especially, you know, that's really that's really serious stuff. John. Is that ever going to be resolved or is it just you know, because you know, people like Obama who has been untouchable, they don't want to confront. But there's just so much smoke here around all the interference, you know, the violation of the you know, the traditional transformation of power that the Democrats like to talk about, but they totally obliterated this, you know, when Donald Trump took you know, took office the first time around.

While there is some sliver of hope that a really good prosecutor can really get to this rushing collusion thing within the statute of limitations, and I've talked about that it all depends on hooking things up to John Brennan's testimony in twenty twenty three. But if you put that sort of it's a long shot, but not an absurd long shot. I think it's doable. But if you go beyond that, you have to rest with the nostrum that we have some very good criminals here. As they say, you know, it takes a thief to catch a thief. Well, you know, in this case, people in the FBI are very good at seeing how good criminals evade things, evade responsibility, and they're very good at it themselves. They are armed with all sorts of privileges. They are armed with the ability to control information, control their files and so forth, and so on, what not to put in writing, and what to put in writing and cover it. So it's not as though these are like other people who are unskilled when they commit crimes. These guys are very skilled and comy especially and McCabe his assistant, left very few fingerprints, none of their own fingerprints, right, and you have to infer from fingerprints of others that they also knew. So it's it's it's the problem is when you have someone

59:29 in that position, they're going to get away with a lot, right. Well, Don Dan Mangino said that, you know, they he found things there at the FBI that he wasn't supposed to find, spent you know, several hours, up to four hours going through some of this document and he just you know, was amazed. I guess maybe not all that surprise, because, like you said, you know the nature of you know, the FBI and the inner workings of the intelligence communit. You know, they know how to play the get out of jail card. Yeah, let's think about this bill here. Trump gets elected in twenty twenty four, takes office in early twenty twenty five, and soon Bongino discovers a trove of information that it was supposed to have been destroyed I think by the FBI.

1:00:20 But what it does is it goes back to twenty sixteen in twenty seventeen, where they're plotting to take down Trump, and there's documents there that are pretty darn clear about it, and they don't have all of them because some of them are CIA type not available there in the files. But nonetheless, what do you do now you've found it in twenty sixteen, in twenty seventeen, for ins Let me give you one for instance, And this is just an obvious one that nobody's done much with. But when they were forming the Special Council's Group, the Mueller Group, to go after Trump, and there had been a ridiculous special Council set up, which was illegal for various reasons. But nonetheless they were trying to form that team. And the Peter Stroke was an FBI agent at a very high level who was in charge with investigating the original charges of Russian collusion and Russian impact on the election. He'd been through it, and he wrote his paramore, I don't know if I want to join this team on this Russian collusion thing, because there's no there there. He knew already that the whole Steele dossier, the whole Russian collusion thing, was a hoax invented by Hillary. Now he more or less said that in an email. Nonetheless, he ended up joining the team. And I think he only got kicked off when people discovered his emails with his paramour. But nonetheless, that's a good idea. This is a guy that's obviously

1:01:51 a smart guy, smart FBI agent, very capable. I mean, whatever you think about him, he's a capable guy. And he knew there was nothing to this. And he also knew, and they all knew by the way that when the Special Council's investigation had been set up, that it was done so illegally. You could only set up a special Council investigation if you have probable cause of a crime. The regulations say that don't you just willy nilly call a special counsel and go around your Department of Justice unless there's a crime and be a crime that creates a conflict of interest such that you need a special council.

1:02:32 There was no crime because the investigation Comy had been conducting was a counterintelligence operation, an intelligence investigation, which of course was itself just started up. But nonetheless you can do those investigations. Those aren't criminal investigations. I could decide, if I were in the FBI that Bill Martinez might be a Russian spy, and for no reason at all other than maybe he drank stolen vodka. So then I go and I do it investigation. Well, that doesn't mean there's a criminal charge. That doesn't mean anything. So you cannot say that a special council investigation can be predicated on my suspicions that Bill Martinez as a Russian agent.

1:03:18 You have to have something else for a special council it's a criminal investigation as opposed to But nobody understood that at the time. Trump was not sophisticated enough to publicize it, call me knew exactly what he was doing, and give me what. About the other people around Trump? John, They weren't advising him to this end. I mean, you know, with you this is all pretty academic and it all makes sense. But how could Trump, being the president of the United States, not have anybody within his inner circle that could advise him accordingly? That's a real good question. And you will recall that Jeff Sessions, great Jeff Sessions, had stupidly recused himself. And I'm not so sure Jeff Sessions was the brightest bulb in the world. But he's an honest guy, straightforward. And then who do you have behind him? You have Rod Rosenstein, who was complete who was now the acting Attorney General.

1:04:17 He's a Democrat, He's influenced by Democrats. That's his resting home, so to speak. And he clearly was under the influence of McCabe and Komy to the extent that even volunteered to wear a wire and investigate Trump. So who was advising Trump? Now? Then you go to I'm just trying to think who his White House counsel was at the time. Maybe you can refresh me. I just got to think about that one but the fact is he didn't have anybody. If you go back, if you go back to George Bush and some of the things that happened there, George Bush, the second again, Alberto Gonzalez, White House Council did not understand that when Comy started a Special Council investigation there, that that was a phony, that that made no sense, that they did not have a crime there. Comy had started one there without a crime that had been They'd already determined that there was no crime. They understood who did the leak that they're investigating. So my point is incompetence is widespread these people. Everybody that is in these positions.

I mean, you get people who've been in the bureaucracy, and they've been in the Beltway, you know, for such a long time that they understand the nuance, and somebody just coming into the game. You know, it's like they're playing checkers and everybody else's you know, I mean, they're they're you know the other guys. You know, they've got multi levels of chess operations going on because they understand the nuance, they know how to work around the system. And of course it's amazing. It's almost like going back to the days of Hoover. It's like they invented the system. Right, that's right.

1:12:05 If people don't understand that j Edgar Hoover actually ran a very good bureau. Those people in the FBI, for the most part, and I'd say overwhelmingly, were very straight and very competent. They knew a bad case from a good case. And usually in the Department of Justice, usually at least the deputy Attorney General is an experienced criminal lawyer. Now, in this case, the deputy Attorney General was Rod Rosenstein, who was a Democrat and had a weird personality, was very weak man and was completely buffaloed. So who was there that was there to protect Trump from a terrible investigation?

Mean he was not that he was not in the official capacity, so he would have no ability to read into the file with all this Russian stuff in it, So you have to rely on the thin read of Rod Rosenstein, who was again didn't know. In fact, it took Rosenstein two months before he figured out that he was wrong, that he needed a crime. He made up a crime to give you. The investigation started in May of twenty seventeen. It wasn't until August that he gave a prosecution memo that mentioned the new crime that they had figured out, which was they determined that maybe they could say that Trump obstructed justice by firing Comy, which of course is absurd, but that's the only thing they could make up. But it took him a couple of months to make that up. It took them a while to realize that they had started an investigation without a predicate that it was illegal. But remember this, you have to tell on yourself if you're Rod Rosenstein who watches the Watcher. They have people of integrity in these positions or incompetence. I think Rosestein is sort of honest. He's an honest guy, doesn't want to do anything wrong, but he's a weakling and not necessarily the sharpest knife in the drawer. And that's all that was protecting Trump. All

1:14:16 that was protecting our country. When you think about that, our country is vulnerable to the fact that a weaving spider like Komi can take down a president. This is a president of the United States, the most important country on the planet, the most important position in that important country, and a weaving spider like Komi got in office and was trying to take down the president, and he almost succeeded. He came very very close, and he knew exactly what he was doing and what he thought was. He knew there was no Russian collusion. He knew that was a but he was trying to get Trump to lie or obstruct. That was the whole purpose of the investigation. And that's why they kept trying to get Trump to be deposed, because if they deposed Trump, I mean, Trump has trouble, you know, saying the sun shine, the sun is shining without saying it's the most fabulous sun that's ever shown.

And he got saved from that, by the way, Thank god for Don McGahn, who at the time was his White House counsel. He understood the game and he made sure he went in and cooperated enough with Muller so that Muller had no basis to go to the court and say he had insufficient information needed to depose Trump. So Don mcghn saved him. But it was a diving catch in deep center field. And so this this is so scary that right now we're doing some great things.

We get that because you know, you're right. You look back and what he did, you know, as the FBI director, is so egregious, and it's like we're chasing him over you know, you know, littering the road, you know, versus you know, the bodies of devastation that were left while he was in office.

They were phony. So you can get a lot of people on this, but the time is running out, and now it's twenty twenty five. Brennan testified falsely in maya, twenty twenty three. So if that's hooked into the conspiracy going back six or seven years to hide things and to hide the intelligence estimate that Obama geared up to heighten the Russian collusion, which was a and that was a phony deal Obama and.

He knew it was phony, but he's got immunity. The other folks don't. They have a qualified immunity. By the way, that even if they're wrong. They had to do so with intent. But I think you can.

He qualifies because impeachment is a political act, of course, and what he's doing here is he is demeaning the other another branch of government in a way that's defamatory. You know, they got Richard Nixon for saying I am not a crook, you know, but which is nothing wrong with that. But nonetheless there is now do we have the political will to carry through with this? No? And I don't think the House is going to be a majority Republican anymore.

It's a Military Appreciation month this May and the Library Congress Veterans History Presents and Project, I should say, the Veterans History Project is marking twenty five years of preserving the first hand a council US Veterans. You know, Monica, I love this idea. I love that we're preserving this because you know, a lot of course, you know, our World War Two vets are dwindling. You know, there are a few left behind, and the stories that have yet to be shared are just so incredible. And I love you that you're doing this is such a gift.

Well, being a vet, I'm a little prejudiced myself, so you know, for my fellow brother veterans, you know, we we appreciate you know that you that the Veterans History Project is honoring, you know, these stories of these veterans, you know, whether it's you know, World War Two, Vietnam and on right. Absolutely, and you are a veteran of Vietnam and come from a family of veterans, so you understand how important it is that we reach veterans together as a nation that don't just fulfill that sort of idea that we have in our mind of the World War two veteran, you know, twenty five years ago when the project was started, that's really where the focus was. But you know, we want the stories of all veterans, those who served the US from World War One through the more recent conflicts.

You might recall that there was sort of a national preoccupation with our World War Two veterans, totally deserved as you know, coming from that family background. But even then Congress was pretient. They understood it was unanimous legislation. Twenty five years ago, we talked about the web in a very different way than they even talked about cybercasting. But even back twenty five years ago, they understood starting with World War Two, we were already behind the ball a little bit. We needed to make sure there was capacity for getting stories from Korean War veterans, from Vietnam veterans, and unfortunately, September eleventh had not it happened yet. So unfortunately, because it hadn't happened, there wasn't this perspective about the more recent conflicts. But since that time, there is this perspective and this idea that it is important that we get the story of veterans, not only who served in all of these conflicts, but from multiple perspectives.

1:28:02 So not just those who served in you know, tip of the speer combat positions and the front lines and deployed, but all veterans, people who serve in country, who served in an era. We need that fullness of story to understand our history together. Yeah, because it's part of the historic chain. You can't have the people out in the field unless they're supported by everybody else that's getting them the supplies, whether it's food, bullets, beans, you know that sort of thing. Right, So veterans like yourself, you understand that because you're a part of this mission and this purpose together. And one of the gifts of the Veterans' History Project is in having that conversation. If you haven't served with a veteran in your life, is finding that connectivity to that historical chain you're talking about. You need the logistics, you need all of that, but also that history is happening all the time, including today, and when you sit down to capture that, you're connecting all of us to how we are each connected to that history and connected to each other through it.

It was just so spectacular and so touching, and I met a Air Force colonel and he had the classic response, Because I think for veterans, you know, it's nice that people appreciate and if they noticed that, and maybe I might be wearing something from the Marine Corps or whatever, and they'll say, I want to thank you for your service, and go, that's very kind. You know, I appreciate the thought. But his response, I thought was really great. He said when people say that to him, he says, you know, I did it for you, and I love that I said, you know, I'm going to steal that because yes, you know we did it. We served for you and for your children and your grandchildren, and it's an absolute honor. And this is the heart of you know. I guess when you look at it, you're look you're considering maybe only one percent of our population actually serves in the military in any capacity.

1:30:11 You're right. So the population difference has gotten to this point where only one percent serve. And that's a number that we focus on. But I want us to focus on a different number because it helps my purpose, which is for all of us to engage in these conversations. And that number is that sixty two percent of Americans. According to a Pew Research surveys several years ago, sixty two percent of those of us in this country are connected in some way to a veteran. And they gave that distinction of immediate family members being siblings, spouses, parents, or adult children. Now you have first cousins, you have aunts and uncles, you have people who are maybe part of what you might call your chosen family, maybe your faith community, a neighborhood association. So if that's sixty two percent, that very small sliver of what is family? Now add all those other people in and I think we're up to eighty percent. Ninety percent, Yes, you.

1:31:11 Know of veteran. So the job now is to bridge that gap through the Veterans History Project. Use this opportunity for seriousness of purpose, to understand each other and understand each other's perspective. You know, in your example, as we were talking about, in a combat situation, you have a supply chain, You have all the linkage of services, and what you brought up is just as important. Behind each soldier is the family supply chain, right, the letters that go home to mom, the cookies that are sent from you know, home out out to a combat zone or wherever. You know, they're serving our country. You know, I like that and I like the idea of expanding it. And we're talking, you know, the connectivity of now we're talking a huge number from one to eighty percent. That is huge. That's great. I love that.

He had a challenging service, as many of our Vietnam military members did, whether in country or not. And getting to hear him and see him and hear him talk about it, it really speaks to the whole purpose of the project, which is we don't just want you know, the generals, or that the people you might find a line or two about in a history textbook.

I mean, this is the level and the mentality that you're seeing of people in the leftist media. They will actually go on camera and say, yeah, I think it's staged.

And it's tough to decide which is worse. But you know, it's even harder for us, I guess, to decide which three to choose. There's so many insane leftists in. The media exactly. Well, the deal is is considering we're in the information age, which we we have been now for the last decade, and you know, podcasting and you know, getting clicks and all that is most important, and the only way you can do that is with an outrageous headline, and especially if you're as irre irrelevant as Joy Reid has become, you know, I mean it seems to me like this is desperation. I mean, here she was, at one point in her career, I believe, overly valued and highly paid, and she ends up shooting herself in the foot and she really created her own delusionment and now the only way that she can, you know, have anybody give her any kind of attention is she comes up with these weird conspiratorial stories. I mean, the next thing I expect to see her is wearing you know, a tinfoil hat.
