It's like, oh, Mike, I know you got a job to do, bless your heart, but maybe you could think just a little bit with some of these questions that they're asking him, right, yeah, well.

0:45 They seem to be a week behind, you know, yeah, so very thankfully Trump is Trump and his cabinet are working miracles. If you ask me, well, I Ran is desperate. Clearly, their leadership is in shambles. The media is hearing from somebody that they claim is leadership. Obviously it's not lining up with the leadership that Trump's talking with. And you know, and Trump is the kind of person, you know, CEO mindset that knows how to speak with authority and to authority. So I doubt that he is making the decision he's making and not having somebody of consequence that he's connecting with.

1:31 Do you yes, I think you're exactly right. It's never in Trump's interest to speak falsely or to give false hope, because then the media would jump all over him. The key thing, you know, I'm sure like me, Bill, you've had a lot of experience in business. Business is all about credibility, right. You have to believe. You have to sell a product you believe in. You have to credibly present the product. You can lie about it, you can't sham it, you know, you have to be very upfront. And I think that's his training, and I think that's what Trump does. I think his whole cabinet reflects that. They do not go out and obfuscate, like you know, the Obama administration was great at that by an administration great at that. So I'm very hopeful.

And I like the way he's playing it out in the way his team and raising Caine and you know, the War Department and that, I mean, this is like, you know, this is the America we always thought could be. You've got brilliant people, you've got the military industrial complex, you know, on a mission and being very precise and very strategic, not being knee jerk reacting, but observing. Yes, they've got pinpoint munitions going in with incredible accuracy and effectiveness. And then they watch the response the media, and this is where people need to be discerning. The media that do not know about military, they don't know about war, and their opining is so sophomoric, it's like, don't even listen to them, because they really don't have a clue.

3:13 Trump is playing this out in a way that is leveraging all all the assets that we have there in the theater, right, And then you watch Iran and you watch their response, and here they are, they're like pretty much a paper tiger. I mean, they're firing bombs all over the place, trying to gauge the entire Middle East. And you know people that were you know, maybe soft allies kind of, I mean they're going, wait a minute, now, you're ticking us off because you're hitting our infrastructure, you're killing our people, and you know we're going to side with Israel. Well, how do you like those those apples, right. Yeah, and it you know, and it's they're misfiring on all fronts. When Irana is attacking surrounding neighbors like the UAE right or Oman. When they're doing that, can you imagine what they would do with a nuclear weapon if they.

Also, then they fired off a couple of missiles showing they have a twenty five hundred mile range trying to go after Alberto Garcia, the island in the Indian Ocean, in the center of the Indian Ocean. Well, that's proving they can hit London. Yes, So the British are necessarily a little alarmed, as. They should be, along with the other other NATO nations, European nations. They've kind of been sitting there, oh you know, and Macron, Oh maybe I'm just going to sit this one out. Oh really No, here's the thing, Bill, and it goes to the book. But by the chance of war, it really does. And that is unless we form a collective group of free nations, nations based on the rights of humanity, right, unless we form a collection of states economically militarily that goes after states like Iran, who's who are bent on world domination and believe they can kill anyone on their way.

5:08 You can't have people on the sidelines saying, you know, well, maybe we'll wait for the next tyrant to come along who has a nuclear missile. Right, all right, right, because that is too late. It's too late, you know. And to your point here, I mean, here, what did Trump do? I mean, let's forget about the UN They're worthless. So he sets up his board of peace, to your point, and maybe he changes it later on becoming the board of war, possibly, you know, to say, yeah, can you hear me, Now, we're serious about this. Yes, we want to think about peace, but maybe it's the board of peace and war, you know, why not. And he's doing I'm going to be writing an article about this bill. He's doing what he is showing the world the tyrants of the world. Tyranny is built on oppressing and harvesting the wealth of your own people, right, It's about imprisoning them and taking everything you can from them for yourself. So you see that in China and Cuba, it was in Venezuela. This is tyranny, and tyranny when it extends out of its own nation. That's what Iran was proclaiming. And when they're lobbing missiles all over, they're attempting to attack neighbors. Let me just get rid of this bill. They're attacking in a predatory manner, trying to enrich themselves on other nations' wealth. That's what that is, and it's been throughout the history of humanity.

6:39 That is how humanity is operated. That was the tyranny of kings and pharaohs and of conquerors trying to take wealth from neighbors. And this is what we're dealing with. We're dealing with it in China with the Belt Road initiatives, and we're dealing with it with aggressive Islam. As you know, we can take over any other country we ever, right, because we're a superior religion, right. Exactly, Yeah, God God, Yeah, God is with us. We're on a mission from God. Right And uh but you know, and you're exactly you're exactly right on this whole deal, Richard, because uh, you know, and this is why America stuck out, and also why these other nations. Wait a minute, who are these guys? You know, a bunch of farmers, these colonists from England come over here all of a sudden they're claiming, you know, some sort of uh, you know, divine mission that they're on exactly uh, you know, and this really uh, this really upset you know, the the League of Nations, the grander League of Nations, as you say, all these tyrants that have had it their way and go, wait a minute, they can't do that. Otherwise our people are going to you know, start thinking about peace and you know, self reliance and self governance.

7:55 Right, yes, exactly right. The miracle that occurred in Philadelphia in seventeen eighty nine was more than just constitution. Yeah, it's about the rights of humanity and the rights of individuals to their own faith, to their own property right and these are that's it's an incredible revolution that occurred two hundred and fifty years ago. And so now it's coming to be between states and between tyrants and persons, you know, nations built on the Constitution. And meanwhile, you know, the battle continues. As Ronald Reagan said, we're but one generation away, and here we are, I mean, we're basically engaged in another revolution, a soft revolution, that's clear.

And you might even say there's some on the right, on the far right as well, on that lunatic fringe. Right, Oh, I don't equate to that. I there. We have to localize education wide though, because then it's the mothers and fathers of the country, yes, who are influencing what the education is of their own children. It should be a local matter, governed by parents. Well, and it's going to be interesting how this plays out, and it's already starting, you know, to become reality. Just like everything else red and blue, the blue states are confining.

Well, and the thing is is, like you said, this is why the midterms are so critical and people need to wake up because what's happening even you know, these people in the Blue states, is like, wait a minute. You know you're Margaret that you're realized, you know, you're running out of everybody's money here, and you can go back to the federal government and say, hey, like you've been doing. You know, Mamdannie's kissing up to Trump. He's trying to you know, hokel. I mean, she she cracked me up the other day. I couldn't believe it. Oh, you guys need to come back and participate in these great socialist ideas that we have.

I mean, the best way to take care of people is to let them take care of themselves, right. And get out of the way. And socialism is the opposite. They want to They want to take care of everybody and determine everything you do in your life. Yeah. I mean the problem is with our government. There's too much socialism already in it. That's why we're thirty nine trillion dollars in debt and the political corruption is so extensive. Again, I was talking with Grover Norquist, and I said, Grover, tell me of the thirty nine trillion dollars in debt that we are in. How that is not connected to vote getting He said, probably every dollar I said, I'll get.

They've purposefully built an administrative state that doles out money to constituents of the Democrats, and it is how they keep power, right, Yes. And so look what they're demonstrating, you know, whether it's California or New York. I mean the poster children of states and governors and elected officials that they show us. I mean, how do you have confidence in that? I mean, this is why the Save Act is so important for us to you know, for we the people, to get control of their government. I mean, the red States seem to be moving in the right direction. It's just the Blue states that you know, we've got to drag them along, and we've got to you know, we're trying to get them to the Promised Land, and meanwhile they're trying to you know, stay in hell where they're at. You know, I don't even realize it.

21:14 Is to refederalize the system bill and not bail out the blue states. They have to become victims of their own policies, exactly, feel it in their pocketbooks. The problem is all the smart people, like you say, the getting out of town. So what's happening. The margins of socialist victory. Will be higher, not lower, right, because they're forcing all the persons with any intelligence out of their own states. I mean, stay on this trajectory, Richard, What what's the hope for America? Well, the hope that we have a lot more. Did you see the victory map when Trump won. Yes, did you see all the red out there? Oh? Yeah, and these little dots and islands of blue and on the fringes, right on the coasts.

Illinois, when I was a kid growing up, there was one of the top five states in economics, in finance, they had they were a bastion of capitalism and investment. They are now fiftieth in the country. What happened. What happened has been one party rule for decades, Democrats destroying the state. And now the mayor of Chicago, Brandon and Johnson I think his name is now he wants to create a bond that the city doesn't have to pay for thirty years. Right, It's like a balloon bond at the end of thirty years. So they take the money now to bail out all their bad policy and then they don't have to pay for it for thirty years.

22:50 Which when is the taxpayer going to get that landed on them? Right exactly? And your grandkids are going to say, hey, thank you very much, Grandpa. Yeah, thanks for the house I owe a lot of. Money, unbelievable, and to get back. To it, we have to refederalize the system so that they pay for their own errors. And when you juxtapose red states to blue states, the difference in the two regarding it fiscal policy and whether people feel safe in their own homes and in their own cities, the difference in policy will really come through. It'll be very huge contrast.

And in fact, I was thinking, Hey, I need some new stuff here, but you know you're not bearing all kinds of good news here. Well, Christmas is done, my friend and world. Yeah, okay, yeah, after all, we're in the Lenten season. We might as well start dealing with the harsh truth of it all. You know, after all, we're refraining and depriving ourselves and hopefully seeking God as we prepare for you know, the greatest holiday ever. You know that God has given us right tell you, I think.

28:58 We need a resurrection of the faith of the Americans, because the more that we study it, the more that we find people take things for granted. We're very casual about our relationship with God, if there is a relationship with God. And what we're finding is that when we look at the foundation of all of that which will be our worldview, our philosophy of life, that we didn't lose ground necessarily too much in the last three years a little bit. But maybe that's you know, stabling out a little bit. And hopefully now, as you say, it's that precious season of the year, now's the time let's start growing, Let's get serious, let's show that we mean it and get busy with God.

And maybe that's what we're looking at here, George, is we're may be looking at more of the remnant. I mean, you and I talked last time about weeks and terrors, no doubt about it. But you know that this is the season that we're in. But the culture. You look at the culture right now, and that's the thing. You know, people ask me, why are we such chaos? Now? Why do you think you can't turn your back on God? I mean, God's real clear. I mean you look back in the Old Testament, says time and again this is what you get with God, Here's what you get without God. And every time he says what you get without God, it all paints this picture of this chaotic world that happens time and time again. You think, sooner or later we'd figure this out, right.

30:31 You would pray that's the case. You know. One of the things that intrigues me is here we are. America's in a war right now, and we've got tens and tens of millions of people who are fighting the idea that we're in war. It's like, no, I, for the duration of my life, I never want to be in a war. Hey, here's a newsflash for you. Every day of your life, you're in a war exactly. The problem is, it's to many people it's a secret war. They don't know what's going on, they don't want to take a side, they're not ready to fight, and so consequently they're losing the war. They're getting ambushed by the evil one. And what we've got to do is wake up understand. Okay, whether you like it or not, there's a spiritual war for your mind, your heart, your soul.

31:12 It's taking place every moment of every day, and you've got to. Choose a side. God uses a remnant, as you say, all throughout the scriptures, what you find is that when God transforms the culture, he does it with a small group of people. He doesn't need a majority, he doesn't need the most powerful weapons on earth. He is the most powerful weapon anywhere, and nobody's going to defeat him. We already know that he's won the war. We can cheat and get on the winning side. It's like we've looked at the last page. We know, oh my. Goodness, we can win if we just agree to be on part of God's in God's army and be part of that winning side. We know how it ends, but what we don't know is how each of us individually is going to choose. You've got to make a choice.

32:01 If you just leave it to default, you will. Lose without doubt. Declare that you are against Satan. You're against sin, you hate evil, you love God. You want his power and authority. You're willing to live according to his rules and principles because it's best for you anyway. It's a win win, win win. But we've got to make that choice. Well, George, you know I go back to I always tell everybody when you have any doubt, just go to the beginning when you go to Genesis and you see where war was declared upon humanity when Satan approached Eve and said, did God really say he introduced an alternate worldview at that point. Up until then, Adam and Eve didn't have an alternate worldview, did they?

32:44 No? And you know, you bring up such an important thing for our culture today, which. Is the concept of truth. Yes, when we look at our data and what people believe about truth. Part of losing the war is when you say, nobody can tell me truth but me. I am the truth for my life, and nothing could be farther from the truth. Because the truth is God. He is the very embodiment of truth. And He loves you and me and everybody that will ever meet so much that he gave us the truth. He codified it in the pages of the Bible. So if we forget it, if we don't understand it, if we want to show it to somebody, I mean, all we have to do is open up the Bible, read the story. He makes it very clear for us, and ultimately then we are to become the embodiment of that same kind of truth. We won't do it as perfectly as he does. But we can know what it should be like, what it should feel like, what it should be doing, and how we can share that with others.

33:48 Truth is critical and unless we understand that we are being manipulated, we are being lied to. And you know, some people say, well, I don't think Satan's in fact, most Americans says, hey, and is real. You know, he's a symbol of evil and whatnot. But I don't have to worry about his direct influence on me. You fell for the first law exactly. Yeah, gotcha. Yeah, that's true. And the thing is is that we sit there and we want to kick at the goads and refuse history and empirical evidence as to what happens when you deny the truth. God is the truth. And this is where we are in this culture today.

34:30 It's either you're either are pro God or your anti God. I mean that that's the divide, isn't it. I mean, I mean we use you don't have to parse it out into politics and say, well, you're a Republican, you're a Democratic. No, you either are for God or you're against God. Yeah, And it cracks me up, you know, because this week We've been working with a bunch of people who are really wrestling with that issue. So how do I know he exists? All right, here's test number one. Can you open your eyes, you know, and just look around you, you know, go back there and read Romans one and Romans two and understand that you're not the first person to wrestle with this, and don't feel bad about that. But the answer is so clear, it's right in front of you, no matter where you look. God created everything.

35:14 God created you. He created you to love what he made for you. But he created you for his purposes. Get a clue about what's going on, because it'll make life go so much better. Well, I like how sant Augustine worked out the formula. He said, First, it starts with faith. You know, you've got you've got to have faith, you know, as the song says, and that's where that's where it starts. And because faith will lead to belief and then belief evolves into understanding. Right, So it's that process that you go through. And it's okay that you question it. I think that's a healthy that's a healthy thing, and it's a blessing that you're asking that question. And guess what. There are a lot of people, you know, religious people that you would think, oh my God, they're just undoubtedly they're sayings like Mother Teresa, for example, and what she dealt with all her life is you know, George, I mean, you know she was she dealt with some dark stuff and constantly, you know, she was just so committed to God that anything that wasn't God it just bothered her and it put her in a dark space and caused her to question her faith.

36:20 You know, I've been privileged bell over the course of my career to interact with a lot of the great spiritual leaders in America, and I try to learn something from every one of them when I'm with them. You know, it's a little embarrassing how little I know, but you know, it's great to be in their presence and to be able to ask some questions about So, what have you learned, what are you struggling with? How do you handle these things? I got to tell you, so many of the great faith leaders in our country when you get to ask them these questions to oh my goodness, I've gone through my dark periods where you know, stuff happens to me. Yes, it's a war and I start to question, where are you God? Yes, we're human, you know about ultimate lea.

37:00 God again reveals himself and he brings me back to his word. He brings me back to his practices, his love and Billy, you know, I mean my primary focus is discipleship. Are people becoming disciples? Right? And so many people say, eh, yeah, I go to church. He's say no, no, no, no, no, that's not the issue, you know. I mean, let's look at what Jesus said it takes to be a disciple. And I would maintain that there are six times in the scriptures when God said this is what makes you a disciple, and one of those is back in Luke fourteen twenty six, where basically he said, look, you want to be a disciple of mine, You cannot be a disciple unless God comes first in your life. Get your eyes off yourself, get your eyes onto him. Understand who he is, what he's about, what he expects of you, what he's given to you to fight the war, Your gifts, your calling, your relationships, you know, your circumstances. All of this is not by chance, you know, I.

42:06 Hey, we're back with Bill Martinez. Here with doctor George Barnett, the director of Research at Arizona Christian University's Cultural Research Center, author of Raising Spiritual Genkins. You know, George, you touched on something. It's so important here and for people to understand discipleship. We take that for granted. We don't realize what that does in terms of igniting your walk with God, your relationship with others. Because for all that God is giving you, and this is all what makes up a biblical worldview. You have this responsibility to not contain it. You've got to share it because otherwise, if it just stays within you, it's going to rot and start to stink.

42:47 And what I find is that a lot of Americans, at least that's what I study, have this mistaken notion that they could never really be a disciple because disciples are supposed to be holy, and they misinterpret holiness to mean perfection, that we're supposed to be perfect. I'm never going to be perfect. You know. They're not sometimes willing to believe they're a sinner, but they do make mistakes. Most most Americans admit that, even if they don't admit, Yeah, I'm a center. But holiness isn't about perfection. To be holy means to be set apart. And that's what Jesus did for us. He set us apart as a group of people who recognize our sinfulness, how far short we fall, how much we need him in our corner, vouching for us before the true Holy One God himself, who's set apart more than any of us could ever hope to be. But the thing that encourages me is always to go back and look at the disciples themselves, the apostles, and it's like, oh boy, here's a bunch of losers, you know.

43:52 And then I said, oh, wait a minute, those are my guys. Time. Yeah, I'm one of them. Come on, guys, let me in. And so, you know, if we recognize, okay, we're going from a fall in place to a saved place, and that saving is done by Christ. But I have my responsibilities in this process too. And so you know, Jesus gives us six principles for how to become a disciple. You know, obey his teachings, love other disciples, bear spiritual fruit, put God before everything else, dump your own agenda except God's agenda for your life. And in the process of that, be willing to surrender everything. Those are doable things, not easy things, but the doable things. And when we make that kind of commitment, yeah, we're going to make progress.

44:39 For the kingdom. Interesting in that notation of the six principles, he didn't say don't sin, right, I mean, because your point is in terms of perfection, you know. And this bothered me here a couple of weeks ago, this this, you know, I was reading in my devotions is be perfect because God's perfect. And I'm going, okay, Holy Spirit, why is God calling me to do something that he knows I'm incapable of doing? He says, you missed the point. The point is is that in these moments of imperfection, just like you were saying earlier, what makes a disciple is because you're attuned to Jesus. When you screw up, you get back into tune. You go back to Jesus, and that's what reorients you and sets you in that position of being set aside and keeps you in that spot. Right, it's the fact that you come back. It's like you read about David and you go, man, this guy kills his buddy for his wife, you know, all these things that he did, and then God says he's a man after my own heart. O Evey, Right, It's true.

45:45 You know, I was at a basketball game, high school basketball game the other night, and I was watching the kids on the squad. There a bunch of them that are Christians that we know, and it intrigued me that, you know, they mess up on the court. Coach would pull him off the court, talk to him, put him back in the game. And that's kind of the story of our spiritual life. You know. It's like God loves me. He puts me in the game. It's like, go go George, you know, and I mess up, he pulls me out of the games. Knucklehead, What are you thinking? You know what you're paying attention now, watch this, do this, you can do it. Go It puts me back in the game, you know, and hopefully I do better. But that's it. I mean, our life is going to be a push pull experience where because we are falling creatures, we need the only human who ever lived, Jesus Christ, who also happened to be divine, you know, who will come and speak up for no coach.

46:39 It's okay, he gets it now, you know, He's going to do a better job. Give them another shot, you know, and God probably sighs, Oh my gosh, how many times, George? You know, But okay, you've got an unlimited number of fowls, you know, for the moment. But you know, do better. Yeah, yeah, seventy times seven, right, I love it. But yeah, I just you know, And that's how I see this is that you know, Yes, I mean, we're called we've been set aside and there's some responsibility on this and when we can live with that in mind, with that kind of worldview, that it's so needed right now. And you think, you know, after Charlie Kirk's assassination, you know, there was a lot of encouragement. You know, people, Oh, revival is going to break out, and all these kids are coming back to the church. And there's no doubt a lot of people are coming to churches. There's there's no question because you've got people who are they're a little upset because their favorite pews are not available like they were before Charlie Kirk's assassination. You know, we're such we're so goofy in our humanity, right, I mean, I don't want a lot of people coming to churches. I've got my seat here and and this is it, and this new person took my seat, you know. And the reason I bring that up because I went to this a little bit and I thought, oh my gosh, I'm like, who is it in the Big Bang theory? Oh gosh.

47:58 I don't know why his name always is keepes me, but anyway, he always has his favorite seat in the chair. Nobody, nobody can get in his share. And I came home. I told my wife, I go, oh my god, I'm him. I yeah, I've looked in the mirror and I've seen the enemy. Yeah it be me. Yeah exactly. Yeah, It's just it's insane. But anyway, and. Part of what we're seeing in the research, you know, because we were looking for that, we know that Charlie's murder had a lot to do with the spiritual re examination for a lot of people. And that's you know, it's awful that my friend was murdered, but it's great that it, even in dying, he had that kind of an impact. But does going to church mean we're in revival? No, you know, and part of my contention is that the the the local church as we know it today wasn't really ready for that moment. And so what happened was, I mean, we've we've got to go through, you know, a refinement period within the church first, so when people come in, we're ready to actually model for them what christ like living is and to bring them along with us, because that's how then revival really works, where you've had that period of time where the church gets it's act together.

49:22 Those of us who love Jesus have thought about yeah, am I really being a Christ's presence everywhere I go in my culture? And if not, what do I do to get there? And then when people come back in, then they're not just sitting there taking notes and singing songs, but they're able to watch us when we walk out and we treat people differently, starting in the parking lot, you know, and then when we get on the street, and then when we're in the stores, and then when. We're in our neighborhoods, you know. Because what we're finding in our research is that when it comes to discipleship, perhaps the most powerful thing that gets. A non disciple to commit to the life. Of discipleship is having a disciple whose life they can watch and see, not only what it looks like, what a difference it really makes. So it's not just a lot of talk on Sunday mornings, but it's faith and action.

50:16 It's lives revolutionized by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the presence of God wherever we go. It's not about me, it's about me giving God a place in my life so that wherever I am He can shine. Through exactly, and it's not about the things of this world. George, we got to let those things go and be set aside and be elevated to those higher things, the higher calling. And it's counter revolutionary because right now, in this culture that we live in, it's it's you know, dog eat dog, man eat man. I mean, it's all about consumerism. It's you know, and you can't you can't disciple people if you want to eat them up, so to speak.

50:59 And again, when we look at the research and ask people how they're feeling, because feelings are so important in our culture today, we trust feelings rather than any kind of absolute truth. So when we do that, what we find is an enormous number of people, particularly people under forty, say that they're wrestling literally every day with anxiety, with fear, with depression, and with suicidal. Thoughts, those four things. And so for those of us who are living in the same circumstances as those people who are wrestling with those awful weights that they're carrying around all day long, and to show them a smile, to show them, yeah, you know what, I'm not perfect, but I've got so much hope. I'm completely optimistic about my future because of Jesus.

51:47 And there's a war going on, yep, it's harder to buy groceries and gas yep. People are at odds with each other, yep. It's harder to find a job, yep. It's tough to pay the rent this month. All of these things and more. But I've got God leading the way for me, so I don't fear any of those things. I'm not anxious about the future because even though my bank account might be struggling, I'm not because I got Christ living through me. Well, I like what Paul said. I've learned to be content, you know, and I think that's the measure in the midst of it, you know, as they say, when everybody else is losing their heads, you know, as you're still screwed on and without Jesus. Yeah, I'm with the rest of them, you know. I'm kicking my head down the road with Jesus. My head's on regardless, you know, regardless of what's happening around me, because I know I can count on Him and I.

52:41 Love Also what Paul says, a relation of that give thanks in all circumstances exactly how tough it is. If you've got God on your side, You're going to win. You are winning. You are a winner. So don't worry about it, just to get your mind off the tough stuff, gets your mind and your heart and your soul intertwined with his, and move forward. However he tells you to do, trust him and see the great stuff. He's going to do well. And as you said, the onus is on the church. It always judgment happens in the church first, right, And so we've got to get our act together. And we're, you know, seemingly when you look at and measure a biblical worldview, the church is losing ground. But God isn't. We can be thankful for that, right, I'm gonna let you wrap it up.

Find a Scripture verse that coincides with what you think about every tough situation you're facing today. And I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are going to find wow, you know what. I was going to handle it this way, but here's what God says. Maybe there is a better way to handle it, in. His God's way. And when I do that, He's going to show up in a big way. We're going to talk about his new of a climatecorn, how and why anti populations zalids fabricate science while targeting American capitalism, freedom and independence. Kevin, Welcome to Michelle. Good to have you with us. Hey, thanks so much for having me. Very glad to be here. Well, I love the premise of the book. I mean, you know, you got exposed for what it is. I mean, the anti populations outs have been around forever. I mean they were screaming in the fetal position when the world hit two billion, right, and now we're here at eight billion in counting, and they just must just be out of their skulls.

56:26 Yeah, that this idea that humanities of light to the planet has a long history here, and you point out, but I think the modern climate movement sort of put it on steroids and sort of gave new life to this regulatory state and all the centralized planning that comes with it, which really amounts to an assault on the American constitutional system. So my great hope is that, especially what we see at the Trump administration, we do see these incremental steps back toward getting us out of these international climate agreements that make an end ran our constitutional order and get us back to being a free, independent country. And that's that's why I saw an opening to do this book, because I think it's a rubber MEAs the road moment. Well, yeah, because really, you know, to me, the way I've been looking at it, Kevin, I don't know if you agree or not, but you know, I mean, it's quite arrogant of people to think that God who created all this didn't know better that somehow in his planning, you know, he had already set a governor for a set population, and you know, meanwhile, you get these faux scientists who come in with their theories, which after all these years and trillions of dollars, what do they have to show for all the trouble and heartache and you know, I believe harm that they've done to civilization.

57:42 Yeah, not only that, but if you listen to the climates activists very carefully, all the people who they claim to champion the poorest, most vulnerable populations, they're the ones who really suffer from these climate policies. They're the ones who suffer from the lack of access to affordable and reliable energy and to the ability to improve their living addictions. So, as you pointed out earlier at its part at Ruth, it's an anti human movement. But I just find it kind of interesting that all the people that the climate activists at the UN meetings claim the champion the poorest populations, they're the ones who really suffer from their policies. Yeah. And the thing is is that, you know, you keep thinking, when is enough going to be enough? You know, when is al Gore going to go back in the box that would be possible and all these other you know, climate alarmists, because again, what's what credence do they have remaining.

58:31 I mean they it's like they've they've chased every windmill you could possibly chase, and they've come up with Bubbkis. Well, I think you've seized on something very important. I do think there is an honorable tradition of conservationism and environmentalism that predates this command and control approach that I think first set in when the first Earth Day in the nineteen seventies. You look carefully what they advocate, whether it's the windmills or the solar farms, another of these things are really good for the environceronment or good for the climate. So even by their own metrics, their failure, and I think there's a public awakening to that reality. Well, and like you said, you know, you know, I get it, because initially I think it's it's good to think, you know, that we need to be good stewards of the planet and we need to be mindful of conserving our natural resources. I get that. I mean, I grew up in California, and I got to tell you, for many years when we were growing up, whenever we had to go inland. I grew up on the coast in Ventura County, but whenever we went Inland, this smog was so bad, Kevin that you know, we had to bring in oxygen tanks for our baseball team so that we could we could finish a nine inning game. You know, is that bad?

59:46 You know, Well, here's the good news, and of course it goes unreported. In terms of lowering pollutants, actual pollutants, the United States has made tremendous progress. You know, communist China is the world's number one pollute or not us, quite the opposite. Look at all the harm these harmful particulates that have that have been reduced. Uh, I think really thanks to the free market system and American ingenuity. So there's good news out there where the environments concerned. I think. Unfortunately, the climate movement has hijacked traditional environmentalism. Well it is, and with their false narrative. Uh. I mean it's been a battle, you know for energy producers. And look at what they've done over the years. I mean when you when you put them side by side, who's done more harm versus you know the energy sector, coal sector and all the innovation that they've done to uh, you know, clean up coal and uh and to really you know, offer too to America a really robust energy sector that I believe is very positive. I'm not seeing a lot of negative coming out of here. I don't see you know, birds getting caught up or you know, whales being disoriented, and you know, things like that. But it's just that there's been a responsible reaction by energy producers to give us cleaner energy.

1:01:10 Don't you think I think so. And I would also say that energy and freedom go together. I think one great thing about the Trump administration is the way they've doubled down on unleashing our domestic homegown resources, the natural gas revolution, all of our rich deposits of oil and natural gas. Why in the world shall we need to be dependent upon unreliable, hostile, foreign sources of energy. That's just a completely backwards way of doing things. And I'm glad to see there's some course corrections going on here. But I repeat, energy and freedom go together. You cannot separate the two well. And the thing is is that when you've got political interests that serve an opposing viewpoint that somehow puts money into their coffers and into their reelection campaigns, I mean, they continue just to scare the holy what have you out of the people and you get the credit Gunberg's and you get to you know, al Gore making all these false statements. And you know, I'm of the old school, Kevin, is that you know, if you're out there and even if you have a theory and okay, and you positive as a theory and it proves wrong, well then you know, I have more respect for you if you come out and said, hey, look at this was our idea, maybe we need more research or something like that. But they don't admit to it. They just doubled down, and you know, and they want to gaslight this into thinking that is you know, it's worse and you know everybody's dying as a result of you know, climate change.

1:02:39 You know, I think it's even worse than that. What they've done is they've undermined the scientific method. I mean, the way science traditionally has work is that you test and you have a hypothesis and let it rise and fall on its own merits. Under the climate movement, they have the ending already written. Here's our desired outcomes to coerce our policies onto the American people, and you follow the process any which way we worse to get the idea outcome that we want that turns science upside down. So I think there's been a real disservice done here. I think there is a course correction underway, and I think a rediscovery of sound science. Well, you're exactly right. I mean even Barack Obama, you know, misuses terms. He will say that, you know, this is a fact. Well, a fact isn't appropriate in scientific scientific terminology.

1:03:26 It could be a law. You know, like you said, it starts out as a theory, and you know, well a hypothesis a theory. Then as it's proven itself, then you say, okay, we can you know, you can take it to the bank. It's the law like gravity. But in modern day science, there's fos science that's come out. Like you said, they're already writing the conclusion without having the facts. Yeah. And also what they've been teaching in public schools in the name of climate alarmism is terrible if you really take a hard look at it. It's the young students who really should learn about the scientific method. They're being told that no, there's no debate, there's a climate catastrophe, and that your futures can strain, and that human possibilities are limited, when in fact, I think the reverse is true.

1:04:11 I think American ingenuity can always find a way, And I think we need to get back to rigorous on as science, and I think we're starting to. And when you take a look at scientific observations, by the way, the evidence now shows us that climate, that cooling and warming trends are primarily the result of natural influences. I don't think the fossil fuel industry gets enough credit for people in richer, wealthier societies being being able to endure these extreme weather conditions, which by the way, are purely natural. They're not more severe or more more frequent than they've been in the past, But we just have more infrastructure in areas where these where these incidents occur.

I mean, if you think not, just take a look at that. You know, the country of Iran what they're going through right now right as an example.

Well, you think about you know, like you say, the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of America's Declaration. You know, since America became a nation, how we've contributed to the greater landscape internationally when we've had proper leadership, whether it was you know, revolutionizing the West so dramatically and becoming a superpower, and what we've done to contribute to the betterment of mankind. I mean, you've got to really be blind.

And what no matter what you what you believe in, you got you got to come down to the final you know, the final conclusion of what what do you want for this country? And I think that most people you know, this country, in this world, and I think most people when you have a sober consideration of that end game, I think that we would find more agreement than disagreement.

You know us our constitution is set up not to create rights, but to secure pre existing rights, and that's critically important. The United Nations says the absolute reverse. They decide that you know, we're going to be in charge of what we give out, and of course what they give out they can also take away anytime too. So it isn't either a choice. It is black and white. And what we've contributed, you know, not only to the citizens of this country, but to the world. I mean, what other country has done this? And it's because I believe, because of the hand of God, I think. So we have to keep asking ourselves, are we in his side? Are we in tune with the ideals of our own founding period?

The good news is I think there's a serious counter movement underway too, And. I think, yeah, I think experience defines preference. You know, it's like, well, how's that working for you? And you get enough bad stuff, you say, hey, I want to get back to the good stuff. I mean it's just like Venezuela. I mean, they have a chance to, you know, reorient their country around hopefully God willing will have you know, the same opportunity in other countries, you know, the same way.

I think that's very well said. And like I say, I think there's some incremental movements back in that direction. But we're involved, we're involved in a real battle here. The globalists have a tremendous amount of money, an organization the modern climate movement gets all kinds of foreign funding that's coming into this country to try to shut down our energy industry. Like I say, I think there's been an awakening to it, but it's a real battle, and I think prayer is in order, you know. I think we're right in the thick of.

This idea of penance, and this idea also that has been recurring in my heart over the last several weeks during this penitentiary season, has been that Lord empty me, Lord fill me, Lord use me, and this idea of being emptied. And you know, you imagine it's just God comes in and just cleans you out and gets all that stuff that gets in the way of a true connection with Him, because we can't connect with Him by holding on to any kind of worthless, mortal aspects of our humanity, can we?

1:25:01 Well, if you think of ourselves as the temple of God, which is what God explains to us, are I think it's First Corinthians chapter six is don't you realize you are the temple of God to dwell in? And it says that you were bought with a price, and so give your life to him. He owns you right. Well, if this temple is filled up with a bunch of cardboard boxes and a bunch of old magazines, and a bunch of broken treadmills that I had years ago that don't work anymore, and you know, boxes of cereal that are twenty years old, and a bunch of old TVs.

Oh God, Yeah, help me a little bit here, cover from me here, God, But I'm telling charge, that's what repentance and confession are all about. And then fasting. You mentioned fasting and denying yourself something for a while, but ultimately what you're doing is saying I want to open up and empty this temple so God's spirit can have one hundred percent of the space in there. And the good thing is God doesn't judge us and a frown or smile based on how well we do this.

Will you please receive Jesus dwelling in you, which is much better than just a bunch of carnal Jeff stuff. So I think that's what you keep bring us back to bill It and lents. Just emptying yourself of excessive earthly demands, excessive earthly controls, excessive earthly worries, any goals higher than God, any content that's not as pure and good as what you find in the Bible. And and the things that like you're talking about here, Jeff, is the things of this world will perish. I mean they're not going to go with us. I mean when it's over, you know, like they say, nobody has a U haul behind the hearst right, and so it's it's a situation you you. This is what I love about lent because it causes you to think on those noble and righteous things and how you're aligning, you know, as uh pastor said here recently, and I love this idea, says, well, you you have Jesus, you get Jesus, but what after Jesus. And I thought about that, I go, that's an excellent point because when you read

1:28:16 the Bible, you always see these people who would come to Jesus, and you know, some of them would say, hey, I still I want to be in your ministry. I want to follow you. And he'd say, no, go go back, and you know, go to your people and tell them how good God has been been with you. But but he'd also say, and whenever he did, like the woman who was caught in adultery, he says, who's here to, you know. To convict you? Who condemned you? Right? And nobody? Okay, well, by the way, just you know I'm not I'm not going to condemn you either, but stop sinning. Okay, let's no more of this sin stuff. So you can't do that in and of yourself without Jesus. So after after Jesus, then it's with Jesus. Like in the Book of John talks about you know, Jesus being the vine, and we're the branches. And he calls us to abide in him, And why do we want to abide in him? So not only that we bear good fruit, but those things that are in our heart, to do the things that Paul says, the things I want to do, I don't, the things I don't I do, you know, but we want to be try and be consistent, and you can't do it without abiding and staying connected with Jesus.

1:29:25 That's the after part, right. Yeah. The attitude of humility reminds you that all good gifts come from God. And as Jesus said, only God is good, none of us humans are right. And he said in that passage, well, I mean it was quoted in the Book of John. I'm the vine. You're the branches. If you abide me, if you focus on me, if you dwell on me, if you depend on me, and if you connect to me in dialogue all the time you want to receive your life and God it is from me, then you'll bear much fruit, which means love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and whatever you do, you'll do with excellences and you'll glorify God with it instead of yourself, so it won't mess you up because pride won't come and corrupt it.

That lasts, nothing that works, nothing that unites people, nothing that glorifies God, nothing that goes with you into heaven right into eternity. So this accurate view that I really can't do anything without God that counts. And Paul said, I can handle all things. I can do all things that are cam called to do through Christ, who gives me strength. So that needs to be our starting point. I think your appreciation for lent Bill is such that first I need to realize I cannot do it on my own. Receiving Jesus once back in church when I was thirteen or two weeks ago, when I went to church and said, confession or isn't enough.

1:31:04 It's not even exciting to only have one experience with Jesus. It's best to have Him guiding your experience the rest of your life, which is what confession. And repentance and dependence. This attitude that I can't do it apart from you. I heard a great quote. I was in a ment retreat. We can have to go and a guy quoted his friend and mentor who said I can't do it. God never said I can. God can do it, and he always said he would. So let's just start right there. I can't do it, he never said I could, so don't be surprised. But God can do it, and he always said he would. So why don't I just connect to him, ask him, depend on him, and try to live in that twenty four to seven relationship of dependence with God, which I think we'd have less.

I cannot take any action apart from my father. I always do the father's work. That's the same for us, because Christ earned that relationship of father daughter of father's son with God. For us, if we've received Christ in his forgiveness, I think that's exciting. We get to start listening to God and he can guide us well. And this is what disciples do. Disciples follow the leader. Jesus gave us every example time and time again. And I remember the first time I heard that Jeff, that I only do what I see my father doing. I thought, wow, I mean think about that, and it causes me pause because I know there are times that I want to go ahead and do it my way, and then I've got it mess to clean up afterwards, and then I'm asking God, Oh God, help me.

It's tough to kind of work out a plan when you're in the middle of being a little irritated. Right if we go way back before a couple is even married, one of the things that I encourage pastors and counselors to do is to encourage a couple. Okay, next week, I'd like you to bring your credit report with you so we can take a look at what debts you have. I mean, and because that's the kind of thing that you know, a guy or a girl is not going to want to ask the other person.

1:40:44 It feels a bit invasive. But if somebody who's meeting with them asks them, I think it becomes a whole lot easier to do. Well, that's got to be, well, a whole lot easier. But still it's a challenge because you know, sometimes what's hard to be transparent and they're just something about finances that people are very protective about, especially when you've always had it your way. Right yeah, yeah, no, And you know when people have grown up in a home where money has been dealt with a particular way. I mean, we've all heard of individuals whose parents, let's say, grew up in the Depression Great Depression, and that can factor into how they approach money together and individually, and so really navigating that well is really a key component.

1:41:29 Well, Glenn, Before you get to that where you bring in statements and bank books and all that kind of stuff, do you first try to lay out a foundation and say, hey, let's just say you two are coming together here, what would be the ideal, what would be the best way to handle your finances and kind of draw some information out of there, so that you kind of have a little bit of understanding of the field to play in terms of what they have in terms of, you know, an idea and a mission and a goal. Is that fair? Yeah? And I'd say even before there's conversation about it, their open eyes, so you're looking at how the other person deals with finances. Do they have the best most expensive car in the world or not. I laugh a little bit because when I was a single man, I had an AMC Pacer and my wife, Now this was before I met her, so I didn't have the pacer at the time, but she was driving a BMW, So we kind of kid each other that probably at that time we probably would not have clicked per se, but just observing each other is an important component. But then I think as a couple is dating, as they're getting to know each other, there can be conversations. It may be you know, what are some of the things that you gleaned from your your parents growing up that you really appreciate and want to wanta foster moving forward, and what might be some things that you don't, And sometimes finances can be part of that conversation, either just organically or

1:42:59 even just ask more specifically, have you had. A situation as a marriage and family therapist when you talk about money where you know one of them just says, hey, I'm out of here, I can't handle it. I've never had that where they've just said, you know, the relationship is over. But I certainly have seen where people are more hesitant to want to talk about it. They kind of want to do their own thing. That's usually with the person who's more inclined to spend, not the person who's more inclined to save. Because the saver really wants to have that conversation, they wanted to be discussed, but the spender kind of would rather kind of deal with it on their own, their own impulse.

1:43:40 And how do you find that wedded financial blissful sweet spot between the two of these dynamic you know ideas. I would say, yeah, I would say conversation, setting aside, maybe a monthly time to discuss it. You know, have a what we would call a spend plan. Take away that nasty term the budget. Let's call it a spending plan where people, especially the one who's more inclined to want to spend, is more on board with that. They're on the same page. So having maybe that monthly meeting to talk about, Okay, where are we you know, are there any unexpected bills that have come in? Do we need to make any juggling with regards to the spending plan to be able to cover the costs? Are there any goals that we have and working towards them? How is that coming? So it can be I think a constructive meeting. I often encourage parents, if they have children, to you know, let their kids know, Hey, we're going to spend some time and we're going to be talking together.

1:44:43 Kids probably know what it's in reference to, or maybe hear something about the fact that we're going to be talking about finances. But then to make sure that when the parents are talking it's not raised voices, because if you know, kids know, okay, mom and dad are gonna be talking about finances and now the voices are raised, that's probably not going to be the best model for the kids moving forward in their own lives. Yeah, you say, one of the big pitfalls is a lack of planning, Right, so you know, you've got to lay out, like I said, rules of engagement. Maybe you know a plan that you're working and then that way you can measure it against this plan. You know, are we overspending? Are we on track?

1:45:26 You know? High five? We can all feel good. You know, let's take the kids out for ice cream? Right right? Yeah. That affirmation when we're able to make a goal, I think is really crucial because sometimes you know, when there's conversation about Okay, what do we spend our money on and ultimately realizing that ultimately it's the lord's money, we're stewards of it, and so coming together. I think one of the important elements of when that meeting takes place, as far as let's say, putting out or developing that spending plan, is for each person to talk about why it's important. Give you an example. Let's say, for instance, one person grew up in a home where most of the year mom and dad were busy, but vacation time kids had mom and dad's attention. Maybe there were certain things.

1:46:13 Maybe they went to a certain location all the time and just really found a sense of connection, a sense of belonging, a sense of value from mom and dad because now their attention is there. If they're only talking about, Okay, let's set aside some money for vacation, but they're not talking about their feelings, why it matters, why it's important. It's going to miss that very important thing. So maybe there's not a lot of money for a big vacation, but when one spouse hears how important it was to the other growing up, it becomes hey, I want you to experience that again, as far as that emotion, that feeling. So even though we may not have a lot of money to spend on that, let's set aside some money to make that happen.

1:46:55 You know, God always brings, it seems opposites, you know, we always hear opposites attract right for balance. So as you say you're going to have one of you is going to be a saving nerd, the other is going to be a spender. And so how do you manage those dynamic tensions in such a way to where you're serving one another, because you know, otherwise the saving nerd, if they're not you know, getting some of their need answered, they're going to get frustrated and angry and then you got other problems. And conversely, the spender the same way. So how do you find that middle ground? Glenn, I think an important aspect is to think out loud, in one sense, And what I mean by that is it's very easy for couples to have. As you mentioned, and I totally agree that opposites do tend to attract.

1:47:46 Each person's coming from their vantage point, and so they have their arguments. It's almost like they're in a court of law and they're they're putting forward the best reasons why we need to save X amount of dollars or why we need to spend X amount of dollars on something. But if instead they're thinking out loud, so the saverer may be talking about why it could be helpful to spend money in this area, and also why it could be helpful to save money in this area. So they're not polarizing. They're not each digging in their own heels trying to get their way. They're really listening to the other person, and each one is trying to be as balanced as they can, because otherwise what will often happen is that tendency to polarize. So the more one person becomes a saverer, the more the other person wants to counterbalance that and become more of a spender. The more they do that, the other one wants to become even more of a saver, So you get that divide that can happen, and that can create a lot of tension.

1:48:43 What about those couples that say, well, we answered the problem, we just have separate accounts. Yeah, well, there are times, and I've seen it in my own private practice, where people in a sense have an easier time deciding that. But the question is do you want to be roommates? Do you want to be a couple that's married? And you can be roommates by just kind of dividing things out, But it's really not what God intended marriage to be. God intended marriage to be that sense of oneness. Malachi two point fifteen says, has not the Lord made them one in flesh and spirit. They are His, so that oneness and it can create a little bit more of a challenge. But when you do that, when the mountain is hired to climb, the joy and the delight is stronger.

1:49:29 Yeah, I hear you. What about teaching our kids about finances? We touched on that just a moment ago. What do you recommend We got about a minute. Left, Okay, I would say have three three jars when kids are really young, have three jars one I'll rename it. It usually is meant as giving, but I'll do it as an s serving. So when the money that I'm going to serve, I'm going to sacrifice, what's money I want to spend, What's money I want to save? And when they can put it in each of those three jars and then pursue use it in that constructive way, I think it sends Again it's a goal that a child is able to see and if they see their parents living within their means, that becomes an extremely important message to model.
