You know, the media is not reporting on this, Casey, You're right. The media, mainstream media is completely compromised, and they're part of signed up and part of the problem.

2:30 That's exactly right. Your government got you here. Your government they've built out the CCP, they've built out the number one enemy and the most formidable enemy the world has ever seen. Your government got you here, but you have to get yourself out of it. And the answer is the constitution gives the power to the people, and the people tell the government what to do. The problem is, over the past twenty years, the government's been telling the people what to do, getting bigger and bigger and bigger and telling the people what to do. So we the people have to get engaged. And the only way to do that is to become informed. First, know what you're talking about. Secondly, unite and unify, and three to take action. But it's going to take all of us.

3:18 You are in World War three today. This is what World War three looks like. Your enemy redefined it thirty years ago, and it's only you're going to get yourself out of this thing. And again, every man, woman and child is on the front lines of this war. And it's never The plan for the Chinese Communist Party is never to go military. It's to weaken the US from within. And you're seeing it every day with COVID, with fentanyl, with mainstream media, propaganda, cognitive warfare, TikTok, social media, all. These different things, cyberb and. Open borders and all that. Yes, exactly, man contributing. And the thing is, you have to go back in history and think about during the American Revolution, everybody understood what we were fighting for, and everybody was involved. You know, wives were involved, kids were involved, you know, husbands involved, farmers.

4:16 I mean, you name it for you know, for the sake of freedom. And here it's like America is asleep at the wheel. And it's all by design. We are asleep at the wheel. There's counter narratives being pushed in everybody's brain because nobody knows where to look to get the truth, which is again the reason I never wanted to write a book. I still don't, but that's why I wrote the book. Yeah, well, thank god you and all the other contributors to the book. As you mentioned this network of intelligent experts who are laying out the truth. You've got to understand the problem first of all, and then there's some action steps that you could take immediately, right, I mean, just simple steps for the sake of freedom. Like first of all, let's let's not support the CCP, right, yeah, I mean that's correct. Stop how big of a problem would that be just to say, you know what, I am not going to support my enemy anymore.

5:16 That's kind of the that's kind of very important. So stop buying Chinese goods and services and stop investing in companies in your four oh one K with companies who do business with China. Remember you have the power, not the company. The companies get the power from us. Remember you you vote, not every two in four years, you vote every. Single day with your wallet. So stop stop putting people in office who aren't doing what you need them to do. And stop supporting the Chinese Communist Party, who, by the way, are hell bent on killing you and your children. Well, they've made it known they want to be the superpower they want to be where America is at. It's like hello, I mean, just like a run, we want you dead. So look how long it took for somebody to do something about it and say, okay, well, let's not disappoint you. You want a war, so we'll go ahead and we'll give you what you want. But yes, as you say, we are in World War three and people are not away. You know, they're just not getting it yet. And you know, it just seems like, I mean, we've been saying for a while that our freedom is at the abyss and we're at that tipping point. We've been there, you know for so long that you know, it's just like it's like wallpaper, you just kind of get used to it. And they're just kind of used to this situation, you know, the government fraud that's taking place.

6:43 And we've been saying on this show casey that traditionally, and you made a good point here that about twenty years ago we had a tipping point, but they didn't see it. And what happened was politics used to always be downstream culture, culture dictated paulolitics. Politics found a way to flip it to where politics is dictating to culture now. And so this is why we had we have the adversarial you know, throat clenching, you know, expressions that are taking place in our culture today because politics wants us at each other's throats because it gives them power when we are in contention instead of being united.

7:27 It's yes, politics at your correct, politics wants. Everybody at each other's throats. But more importantly, so does your enemy, the Chinese Communist Party. And by the way, by the way, I hate to say it, but it's very true. Politics are your enemy because your politics are not representing you. Your politics are representing them, not you. So unfortunately, you know, we are compromised in our government, in our and in our military, and in our DOJ and FBI, they've all been police politicized. Where the people. There's three things your enemy and a lot of them are inside of our borders, and a lot of them carry American passports. A lot of your your enemy doesn't want three things to happen. Number one, they don't want you to become informed on really what the truth is.

8:19 Number two, they don't want you to unify. And number three, they sure as hell don't want you to take action. They don't want you smart, they don't not you to be in groups, and they don't want you to take action. And that's exactly what we're down to right now in America. Bill Martinez here with Casey Fleming is our conversation is continuing, and as we were saying before the break, you know, by our constitution, I keep reminding everybody, you know, when it leads off with we the people, I mean, it's almost a commandment that we must be engaged. This is a government of for by way, the people. But we have through acquiescence, allowed the elites, the bureaucratic elites, the administrative state, to take over, and so they've really compromised our constantly violated our constitutional rights. I mean it cracks me up sometimes, Casey. Some of these politicians go, we're in a constitutional crisis, you know, because they didn't get their way or their way is being threatened. For just a moment, look at the whole idea of consent to the government has been taken away from us because they're you know, stuffing ballot boxes. They've got you know, machines, voting machines that are compromised and fraudulent, and you know, and we go through voting cycles where we go, wow, this doesn't this doesn't seem right. The wrong people seem to be getting elected. And then what cracked me up over all the controversy over the twenty twenty election, the Democrats themselves finally admitted, which blew me away.

14:55 They finally admitted they go, well, if the truth be known, this is from the Democrats. JFK. You know the reason he got elected is because we did some cheating in Illinois. It's like, all right, so you're going to tell me that the stuff that happened back in nineteen sixty has not carried forward to this day and even gotten worse. It's exactly right. You're exactly right. So no consent to the government. Right, That's exactly right. That's why the people have to be become informed, get on the same page, unite and take action. That's why I wrote the book, and that's why there's a movement right next to the book.

16:17 And that's exactly where we are. Extinction. You can see extinction on the horizon. And let me tell you something, the audience. You don't want what communism is. You don't want Marxism, socialism, communism. First of all, it's never been successful in history because the elites take. All the power. They own all of the state, they own all property, they own all consumption and all production. So no, you're not flying to your vacation spot because you don't need to fly this year. You know, we're watching our money as a government, and everything. Everything you see in the news is propaganda. Everything everybody's controlled. Everything you see is controlled, and it's it's absolutely oppressed. If that's what you want, then god speed well.

17:05 And look at how many hundreds of thousands, millions of people have died in the name of those isms, right. I mean, here you have in Iran, we just had news of a celebrated wrestler was hung because he didn't go along with the with the current regime. Even though they're losing power, they're still killing people. You know, they say, well, you know, thirty forty fifty thousand. You know, Donald Trump, you know, was upset because it was close to a thousand people they were going to kill. Man. That number has been way gone by, And a friend who knows people inside of Iran has told me quite directly, said, Bill, it's not fifty thousand. It's over eighty two thousand people have been killed in Tehran alone.

17:54 Yeah, we hear that number two in the intelligence community, we're hearing about eighty to eighty five thousand. This is just incredible. That's so that's that's a totalitarian regime. That's what totalitarian regimes do. That's what China does. And that's what they want to do to you in Munsey, Indiana and Littleton, Colorado, that's what they want to do to you. Well, and you think about what happened to the West, why why the West became well, particularly the United States of America, how could we become a superpower in such a short amount of time if it wasn't for number one, their conviction. As you say, to the truth and the truth that comes from God himself. I mean this idea that, oh truth is relevant and it's your truth, my truth. Belogoney, it's either true or it's a lie, right.

18:49 Hundred percent, hundred percent, And let me boil it down all the way down to the to the to the fiber. You're in a spiritual war. There's no question about it. This is God versus Satan, good versus evil. This is a spiritual war. This is how it's manifesting in your life today. So you either pick up your sword. You know God, if you follow God, he says, pick up your sword and do battle and fight against Satan. Either pick up the sword or be fodder. And that's exactly what's going on. And so what you're what we're discussing here, Bill, is exactly how spiritual war and the and a lot of people believe that we're in the end times. Pew Research did a study in over forty three percent of the people believe we're in the end times.

19:36 So guess what it's You're not in You're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. You're here and you're now well. And the fact of the matter is the word of God is real clear in terms of the end times. I like what Billy Graham said before he passed away when a reporter asked him, said, well, doctor Graham, are we in the last days? He goes, Oh, no, he goes, We're in the last of the last days. You know, every day we get closer and closer to that final chapter the Book of Revelations. I mean, it's laid out for us, and that was given to us so that we would not be ignorant, that we would not be vulnerable, that we would be prepared to fight the good fight. And the good news is, Casey, is that men as a gender are natural wiring. The way God wired us is to be fighters, to be protectors of our families.

20:23 And this is what we're being called to do right now. The danger no longer is existential. It is imminent, isn't. It could not have said it better. You're exactly right. Every man needs to step up and get rid of the feminism in the man and the de manning of manhood, which is which, by the way, is a communist movement, a communist effort to feminize men. All these things are covered in the book of Really this is part of the entire strategy of the communist world world, which the CCP is the big one. Now, the once Russian took defeat and the wall came down, China came in and took right over, took over the gap and just maximize the thing. And by the way, the Chinese communists scare the hell out of the Russian communists because they're so dark, so diabolical, and so evil.

21:23 So that's really what's going on here. And again this is not you know, Bill and Casey are not just talking here. This is the everybody needs to pick up, pick up information, understand where they are because they you know, if you're a man, you better protect yourself and your family right now, just like when you're flying, they say, put the oxygen mask on yourself first. That's what you need to do. Yeah, exactly. You know you'd mentioned a moment ago the quote, the famous quote from former President Ronald Reagan that were but one generation away from losing our liberty. If you think not, just ask the people of Iran how quick it took them to lose their liberty Venezuela, the same thing.

22:04 There's other stories time and again where that has happened, right. One hundred percent. All that is covered in the book because somebody had to write a book to the American people, to every mailbox to let them know what is going on, what's at stake, and how to connect the dots. But you're absolutely correct. It happens so quickly, and by the way, it's happening a lot faster now because of technology. Yeah, exactly. Well, you know, I had a friend tell me the other day. He presented an interesting proposition here, Casey, and you know, here we are concerned about, you know, Muslims, particularly Iran and the Mulla's getting their hands on a nuclear weapon. And he positive the idea that you know, with the expansion the way Muslims have migrated around the world, particularly how they've taken over some countries, particularly the United Kingdom, that you know, they don't need a nuclear bomb in Iran, they could just steal one from England. Right.

23:12 And by the way, even the Chinese Communist Party is behind funding a radical Islam around the world. So you know, you're under assault every day while we worry about our golf game and you know Amber's cheer practice. Our enemies are. Taking up positions against us, even inside of our borders. So all this chaos, a lot of the chaos you're seeing in the world, is by design. And with that chaos, they keep us distracted while they continue to take up positions and to take away our freedom. And that also goes for people inside of our government. Exactly as we wrap up, remind everybody of the three action points they must take right now, Casey.

Well, it's it's funny how that sneaks up on you, you know, And it's always nice that, you know, because you know, you come into springtime and here we are. Right Yeah, I was wearing shorts on now on Time's day. I mean it's nuts. Well, hey, look at we'll make the most of it, well we can, and especially I mean here it is the Lenten season. You're supposed to be suffering for goodness sakes, aren't you. Yeah, the suffering starts in like May. So God, whatever I don't do right now leading into lent. I will sweat it out all summer.

Well, I'm pop Leo keeps promoting basically de facto open borders. The Bishop of Alpazzo has saying that our America's immigration laws are unjust and should be disobeyed. There was a bishop in West Virginia who compared Ice agents to Gestapo officers and slave catchers. The idea is that Western nations only Western nations, don't have a right to control immigration.

29:57 You don't hear the. Church saying that Japan needs to admit tons of immigrants. You don't see the Church saying that African countries have to have open borders. It specifically, rich Western countries have to have open borders and provide limitless welfare and education and social benefits to whoever shows up, whether they're Jihadis, whatever ideology they bring with them, we have to welcome them all. The Biden administration led in twenty million illegals, and the US Catholic bishops don't want them deported. Now. Part of that is that the bishops made three billion dollars in fifteen years as federal contractors processing those immigrants, legal or not. Catholic charities almost its whole budget is federal funding, and the bishops use that money to keep the lights on. In that same fifteen years, the bishops had to pay three billion dollars in settlements for victims of sex abuse by priests. So they made back all the money they lost by shuffling pedophiles for parish to perish.

31:01 They made it all back by bringing illegal immigrants into America and billing the taxpayer for it. So when your bishop talks about immigration, remember he is essentially on the take. He's essentially profiting from the dismantling of America and the destruction of its sovereignty. So they've discovered a model, a funding model, basically what you're saying. Right, they don't need They forty percent of American Catholics people grow up Catholic leave the church. So rather than fix that, rather than clean up Catholic schools, rather than clean up the seminaries, they can just keep bringing new people in from Latin America to fill the pews for a few years before those people a lot of them end up joining Protestant churches. So Basically, it's like a pyramid scheme, and the bishops need more people from Latin America to fill the pews. As American Catholics drift away, they don't have to worry about us putting money in the collection basket. They're getting it from Uncle Sam. But if we get control of our borders, that drives up and all their institutions like Catholic charities, which collaborates with cartels and smuggling people into the country, all those institutions will go away and the Catholic left, the institutional left wing Catholic bureaucracy is entirely funded by the federal government.

It's why the bishops were so hard on President Trump for enforcing our immigration laws, but they barely uttered a peep over Joe Biden expanding abortion, expanding transgenderism. So what I argue in my piece over at Christian Nation on Emerald Robinson's substack, is that we need Catholic conservative leaders, people like JD. Vance and Rick Santorum, Marco Rubio, to step forward and get the federal government to help clean up our church. What I think is needed is a reco investigation of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops for their cover up of sex abuse which resulted in three billion dollars in court settlements. How did they collude, How did these bishops do this? Why didn't they straighten things out? Why did it go on for twenty years?

33:29 What is it really fixed? And a separate rico investigation for the bishop's role in collaborating with cartels who smuggle people. Into the country. Catholic charities is known Liz Yure This wonderful human rights activists Elizabeth Yor document it contact ongoing contacts between Catholic charities in various cities and cartels that engage in human trafficking. The federal government is the only thing powerful enough to break this car this cartel, this cartel between the church and the human traffickers in Central America. It would be enormously helpful to our church to get it pulled away from the teat of big government and get it peeled away from the left wing activists who want open borders, who want all Western countries to be inundated by Third World immigrants, who will then be dependent on the government taxpayers.

You know, Muslims have so, you know, so gone forth and migrated to other countries. I mean, they've taken over England. I mean, you know, they've. Taken over Minnesota, they're trying to take over Maine, and they're trying to take over Texas and working out a film right now called Jihad in Texas. The fact that Rhino Republicans are everybody's much to blame. It was George W.

He supported the Russia collusion hoax, which was a fraud, fraudulent attempt to take out the president of the United States based on lies. So it's like it's like saying, if I serve your bowl of soup and I say, only two percent of it is dog turns right, just eat around it. There's no way Cornon's going to win this nomination. He's going to be humiliating for him, and I think Trump doesn't want to humiliate himself by tying this anchor around his neck and discrediting the value of his own endorsements. Ken Passen was very smart about it. He said, I'll drop out of the race if the Senate passes the Save Act. Yeah, there's no way, and there's no way the Rhinos and Republican Rhinos in the Senate are going to pass the Save Act because the way the Democrats count on vote fraud to win the general life, the Rhinos count on vote fraud to win the primaries. He's the president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and author of the book Gun Control. Miss Well, John, what is the terror threat that we're not supposed to talk about?

56:07 Well, you know, it's amazing that some of the news stories won't even mention the kind of the religious views of those who have been committing these terrorist attacks recently. But what we wanted to kind of do. Is to look even before the Iran or to see how different groups of people kind of compare in terms of the rates that they're engaged in these types of terrorist attacks. And so what we. Looked at was all the mass public shootings in the United States from nineteen ninety eight through the end of last year so well before the war started in Iran.

56:48 And what we found was that the one group that really stands out in terms of committing those types of murders at a highri eight compared to their share of the population was Muslims. They were committing these attacks at a rate eighteen times their share of the population, which is pretty astounding. And I mean, was this a number that just all of a sudden popped up in the last two years or you could just see the trajectory going back from nineteen ninety eight. Yeah, Well, I mean it's been all over the place. I mean, you had an attack in Salt Lake City in two thousand and seven, you had the Fort Hood shooting by the major in two thousand and nine, you had the attack in Chattanooga at the military recruiting office there.

57:44 In twenty fifteen, you had the attack in Orlando at the Pulse night club in twenty sixteen, you had the attack in Burlington, Washington twenty sixteen, you had the attack in Boulder, Colorado, and twenty twenty one, and of course you had the attack in San Bernardino, California in twenty fifteen. So you know, these have pretty much been occurring since two thousand and seven. If you were to limit it to two thousand and seven to twenty twenty five, it would be obviously an even higher rate of attacks. But we went we had collected data going all the way back to twenty or in nineteen ninety eight, and so that's that's how we broke it down, right.

58:36 So, and you experienced during that period of time one hundred and eight mass public shootings is what you write about, by one hundred and eleven shooters, right, and eight of those were Muslim, right, right. But you know, over that period of time, on average, Muslims only make up about zero point four percent of the population. So they're really dramatically overrepresented there in terms of the rates of the attacks. Well, look at the numbers. Now, look at the population numbers. Now with Muslims compared to then, John, it has grown exponentially. I mean they're saying that, what, by twenty thirty, there's going to be a ninety four percent growth in Muslim population here in the United States. I think it's like, let me check here, six point six point two million from two point five million and twenty ten, right.

59:32 Well, I mean that would be a little bit less than two percent of the population at that point. If that was the case. Right now, I think it's a little bit over one percent, but you know, I don't know. You know, obviously it's something that's changing. Obviously, just this month, we've had a number of terror attacks involving Muslims, everything from the recent attack in Austin, Texas where the guy wore a sweatshirt reading property of Allah, to the bomb throwers in New York City who were young Ala Akbar while they were throwing these homemade shrapnel bombs, to the attack in Old Dominion University where the shooter also yelled Alla Achbar and had previously been convicted of supporting Isis, though the Biden administration let him out early, to another attacker at the Temple Israel in Michigan whose brother was his Bola terrorist commander.

You had the three men of Iraqi origin who bombed the US embassy in Norway, you know, And the one common feature about basically all these individuals is how they were foreign born individuals who were naturalized in the United States. Right naturalized in the United States, and somehow were reprogrammed I guess right, or I don't know. I mean, I don't know if they were reprogrammed in the United States or earlier. I mean, it's quite likely that they had fairly strong beliefs that they were obviously Muslims before they came to the United States.

1:01:29 So you know, well what I guess, what I'm saying is that there seems to be no curiosity from the mainstream media to look into that, and even the way they've reported these incidences, which is amazing to me because you think, well, wait a minute, we're like at war with Iran right now, and you know, the notice, the alert has been sent out by the Muslim leader to you know, wake up these sleeper cells, and some how, you know, the media refuses to connect the dots on these things. John, right, Right, Well, I mean, obviously the list that I just went through are all from just the first half of March, and so we wanted to go and look at whether there were cases that were occurring even before kind of the Iran war got started, because obviously, as you say, the call for sleeper cells, and even if they're not kind of formally sleeper cells, even if they don't have direct contact with Iran they still maybe kind of motivated, you know, because you know, they think it's the right thing to do for some reason. But you know, the point was even well before that, even months before that got started, you're talking about a rate of mass public shootings. That's eighteen times they share the population. Obviously,

1:03:01 there are other types of attacks that one could have included there. We just had the data put together on these mass public shootings because that's what we do. We have extremely detailed data on our website at crimeresearch dot org for all sorts of aspects about the backgrounds of these mass murders. But you know, you have other cases like the January twenty twenty five truck attack in New Orleans that left fourteen people murdered and forty seven injured. You know, there are many types of other cases we could have included, but we already had the data together for mass public shooting. So mass public shooting is a case where guns fired in public, not part of some other type of crime like a robbery or a gang fight over drug turf in which four more people have been killed, you know, in one place. So you know, it's basically using the FBI definition on the US.

And because we know in the news, I mean, we're hearing about these other things where you get you know, people that have been you know, killing people with knives, and of course there's been assaults at record numbers as well. And uh and you might you might think that if the numbers here in terms of guns are disproportionate, that maybe it might have a similar influence in these other areas. We've got to go to quick break. Well, John, uh, you know here we are under a high threat level. I would think in light of what's going on in Iran, what's been called out. But ICE is kind of the one part of the Department of Homeland Security that's already funded by the big beautiful bill that got passed last year. But you know, the parts that are in are tsa dealing with different types of terrorist threats within the United States, you know, So if you you know, it's interesting. Slotkin, the Democratic senator from Michigan, after the terrorist attack at the Temple Israel, she said, we got to pass it now, you know, no responsibility for the fact that she had been among the other Democratic senators that were voting against it consistently.

I mean, as if we haven't had tragedy already with these four incidents, as you cited, but god forbid, there'd be something, you know, like nine to eleven all over again. John. Yeah, Well, I mean, look, there are a lot of guys who are people were working without pay right now to provide protection. But they also have a number of people that aren't showing up for work because they're not getting paid. Now, look, they're all going to get paid eventually, and you know, I suppose they could go to their local banks and say, look, you know, the federal government's going to be good for this, you know, just advance us.

1:11:42 And they've done this before. Just advance us alone, kind of on the fact that they're going to give us a lump sum when this eventually gets settled. But you know, it's it still makes it more difficult, and there's a lot of people who just are not willing to go to work right now. And you know, if you're trying to travel by plane, I'm sure there are more than a few people that have noticed that it takes longer to go through security than it would normally take, just because you have people who aren't there to go and handle the passengers. Yeah, well, it is a tough situation, and you can't help but be sympathetic for these government employees. You know, there's reports that some of these government employees because I mean, it's not like they make a ton of money anyway.

1:12:34 John you know, they're not you know, they're not making six figures and they don't have insider trading in Leicester where they can you know, hustle up a bunch of extra money or anything like that. I mean, it's amazing how they're able to survive anyway, even when they get a bait check. But some of them just can't even afford it. And of course, you know, we got gas prices going up, so they can't afford to you know, drive home, so some of them are sleeping in the airport. Yeah, well, it's an unfortunate situation. You know, hopefully the voters will make people who are insisting on holding up their pay pay for it themselves.

1:13:20 You know, the. Democrats keep blaming this on Republicans for not being willing to essentially end ICE enforcement. They don't make that clear. They just go and say Republicans are refusing to get this pass. But you know, if you go through the demands that the Democrats have, they essentially would make it so that ICE wouldn't be able to go and do its job at all. And so you know, they're just making it clear and yet another way that they don't want to deport even criminals. Illegal aliens in the United States. It's like they'll reinforce and expand the sanctuary city model, John.

1:14:02 Right, Well, they want it for the whole country. Right exactly. That's the bottom line. Well, you know, the media is quick to talk about, you know, white supremacists and neo Nazis and anti immigrants in that what is the reality? What's the truth of the situation here in terms of you know, how much in terms of mass gun shootings that is being done by white supremacists right. Right, Well, I mean during the Bien administration, for example, and even before that with Christopher Ray, the FBI director, rather than going and talking about kind of the disproportionate rate that Muslims are doing this, they they're target that they went after were right wing right white supremacists that were supposedly the primary threat. You know, look, if you look at political views, the vast majority of these mass public shooters have no obvious political views that are there, over seventy percent, don't You're talking about seven percent or so which have any type of racist type views. Kind of the list that you just went through, white supremacists, anti immigrant, racists of some type. But you know what's ignored by the media there because anybody who's kind of racist is or anti immigrant automatically classified as a right

The problem is is that when you actually look at the cases, most of those individuals are anti immigrant or anti minority because of environmentalist views. These are individuals who are upset about people having children because they think that children, the more people we have in the world, more children that are born, the more damage that you're doing to the environment. And so, you know, they call themselves, you know, environmental radicals, they call themselves socialists. They go and they say their ideal form of government is communist China.

I mean, you probably know more conservatives than I do, even but at least I must lead a pretty isolated life because I don't know any conservative people who call themselves conservatives who are upset about people having children. I don't know too many people who call themselves conservatives that say that their ideal form of government is communist China, or that they call themselves socialists. And yet, you know, so the media just simply says, if you're racist of any type, you're a right winger and conservative and kind of and ignoring the environmentalist views. I mean, if you were going look and say what politicians have views, which are you know, most concerned about people having kids? I couldn't name one conservative politician who would go and venture that, but you know somebody like AOC who questions whether people should have kids. You had Biden who talked about the existential threat that we faced as you know, human civilization from the environmental issues that are there. Those are the types of people that seem to be scaring people into not having kids or the dangers. You know, we just had Paul Eric die last Friday, the guy who wrote the population bomb back in the book back in the nineteen sixties, warning that if we didn't reduce the number

1:17:51 of kids that were born, we were going to have massive starvation in the nineteen seventies, in nineteen eighties, with many hundreds of millions of people dying from starvation, which obviously never occurred. But you know, there's still people who believe the type of message that he had, and he's obviously a person on the left. And here we are, we're reproducing in the United States below a retention level right one point, yeah, yeah, and the. Whole world basically, virtually the whole world is below replacement rate and. The only people that are doing a good job are the Muslims. I mean they're they're doing what eight ten kids per family.

It's not just the fact that they're uh, you know, being brought into the country by the Biden administration at a huge rate, but also that they're having children at a high rate. So, when shopping for a car, what should people look for it to make sure it keeps it value over time? Well, first of all, pay attention to how long you tend to keep a car and how you're going to use it. You know, I drive a car for ten to fifteen years, so I don't pay terribly much cent to resale value because I'm just not going to resell it. But a lot of people turn in every three to five years, and for them, you want a car that's in high demand, and you want a car from a brand with a strong reliability reputation. You know, we're finding that actually across the industry, reliability has improved. And I don't want to say there aren't bad cars anymore, but there are very few unreliable cars anymore. However, we use car shoppers. Some names just carry a lot more weight than others, and that matters when it comes time to try to sell it or trade it back into the dealership.

1:24:44 You know, Like you said, I think that consumers can be greatly encouraged because of competition. I mean, you know, the competition is intense. Everybody wants your dollar, they want your car buying dollar, and so the competition has really you know, tightened up the game and raise the level of performance by these different manufacturers right. Right, quite a bit. But we looked at twenty four different categories looking for the vehicle with the strongest restal value after five years, and you probably will not be surprised to hear that Toyota one twelve out of twenty four, nine with Toyota, nine with Toyota, and three with Lexus. So that name goes a long way sometimes. Yeah, Well, like you said, you know, we want to be mindful of those those cars that have that residual value so when it comes time to either trade it in or sell it, you get more bang for your buck when when you say the nine, well you say these twelve cars Toyota and Lexus, you know what kind of differential are we looking?

1:25:44 As? That are plus or minus like twenty percent in value? Close to it? The average car holds forty five percent of its value five years after you buy it, and the best car on the market from a resale standpoint is a sixty three percent, So it's almost a different than twenty percent. Wow, that's great. Who was that? Which car was that? That's the that's the Toyota Tacoma. If resell values your consideration the strongest consideration, the best vehicle you can buy is a mid sized pickup from a from a Toyota. Wow, that's that's that's that's quite return. So, uh, what other things should people look for to make sure it keeps its value over time. Sean, Well, you. Want to look at the vehicles that people are buying, and in America these days that means large trucks and sevs.

1:26:29 The best selling cars in America are compact SUVs, mid sized SUVs, and large pickups, and unsurprisingly that's what's holding its value best. However, I'm also noticing this year that hybrids are starting to climb the list. You know, five years ago when we did this, Americas didn't put a lot of trust in buying a used hybrid, and now the technology has proven enough. That they do right. So people are still open, you know, to have because I think on paper, the idea of having a hybrid that gives you both options it sounds it sounds good, and I think that, like you said, in time, it's proving itself and the testimonials that are coming from people who have engaged these automobiles has been very positive.

1:27:15 It is, and I would also note that it's just kind of it's slowly taking over the industry. In some ways. You can no longer. Buy a Toyota camera that's not a hybrid. They don't bother to build them anymore. Oh really, Okay, wow, that's that's interesting. So this is so obviously the evidence is showing them. I mean, for I mean, you know, you think about this Sean. For them to go totally hybrid and to drop a line like this, and especially with this kind of car as popular as it is, that's quite telling, isn't it. Yeah, it is. But you know, they've got twenty twenty five years making them now, and they trust that they can do that about as well as they used to build a gasoline model. And of course it's proving itself in the in the marketplace.

1:27:58 Are there certain types of cars or features that you know, tend to hold their resale value better than others? Shot well, as I said. Your best bet these days are SUVs and pickup trucks. They're holding their value a lot better than sedans are otherwise. Uh, it's these qualities up across the industry. M hmm. Yeah, I'm really I'm kind of surprised that, you know, Sedan's have fallen off. Is just that, I guess people are, you know, because of you know, gasoline prices and everything being somewhat favorable, even though right now we're in a little bit of a rough patch, but it's minor comparatively, is it? Is it because you know, gasoline is cheaper these days? Is that why there's more interest or or more engagement with SUVs and trucks.

1:28:45 I think that's played a big role. I also think manufacturers, you know, often the same parts go into a mid sized car and a mid sized suv. They'll be built on the same platform, and they can sell that suv for a higher price. So the manufacturers are pushing them a lot harder, and there's a little bit of a hype war. You know, in my job, I get a new car every week. It's unfair, but I got a test trave them and and I can tell you it really makes a difference whether you can whether or not you can see over traffic, because I'm sitting at a different height every week, and I develop a real preference for SUVs because I'm just annoyed when I can't see over the guy in front of me. Right. Oh. The other thing too, I'm appreciating, Sean is trucks. I mean, the value that these manufacturers have put into trucks.

1:29:28 It's no wonder they continue to be so popular. Right absolutely, And there's just you know, there's kind of a little bit of gamesmanship going on in that they'll build, you know, five different cars on the same platform and give them five different names. And then at. Ford they'll just build a whole lineup of different trucks and call them F one fifty, So you can buy an F one fifty for forty thousand dollars and you can buy an F one fifty for one hundred thousand dollars. In any other part of the market, they probably name those products differently, but with trucks they don't want to interesting. We're talking with Sean Tucker. He's a managing editor at Kelly Bluebook. He's covered the intersection of the automotive, insurance, and energy industries for more than a quarter of a century. Man, what a run, Sean, You've had, right.

1:30:14 It's been an interesting time. Yeah. Yeah, Well, and like you said, you know, when you're telling me that you're getting a new car to drive every week, I'm envious. I have to tell you that must just be an experience of a lifetime. It is fascinating, but you know it has its minor annoyances. You probably forget where you parked, I forget what I parked. Half the time, I. Know where and what right exactly? Got to remember. Okay, that's right, this is this week's car. Let me check my phone here and make sure I take a picture of it to make sure I'm gravitating into the right vehicle. I can locate it. I can only imagine, Well, how can thinking about resale value help us make smarter choices and save money in the long run?

1:30:54 Sean, You know, I'll go back to that Tacoma for the example. If you're shopping for a mids ice truck, the Tacoma holds sixty three percent of its value after five years. That's the mid sized truck with the best score. The mid sized truck with the second best score, the Ford Ranger, and it's it about fifty three percent. So just choosing number one on the list versus number two on the list can save you ten percent of what you paid. Yeah, that's that's amazing. Think about it. So it like everything you know that we've learned as we grow is there's nothing like preparation and doing your homework. And I got to tell you my son, the youngest one, he is a freak about research. And I remember what was it about five six years ago he said, Dad, I want to buy a Toyota's Tacoma. He says, everything I read about it, Yeah, and so, in fact, believe it or not, we just paid it off and he does all the work on it himself, oil changes, breaks and all that, and he just loves his car. And he just says, I'm passing it on to my you know, my next child, my oldestild. So good for him.

Well, as we wrap things up again, remind everybody, Sean, you know, step one, the step one that they need to take in order to make the most of the opportunity when it comes to, you know, purchasing a car and the resale value. 1:37:06 Thanks for having me. Bill Well, you advise on tax policy and labor and employment issues impacting small businesses, working to advanced policies that support the small business community. As we know, small business is the backbone of capitalism, is it not? It sure is small business owners or in every community across our country employ almost half of the private sector workforce and truly make our comm thrive. Why is it that only it just seems And I don't mean to grow into party because I tell you I resent party politics, but it seems, you know, because what we've been saying here lately, Dylan, is that forget about Republicans and Democrats. You have to look at it.

1:37:51 Is it pro American or anti American. And so there's this anti American sentiment. You can put it under whatever tent you believe it belongs, and I have my own opinion as to where it belongs, and you can look at what it is to be pro American and put it under that tent. But it seems that those that are pro American support small businesses, will do things with tax policy, will do things within the government bureaucracy is messed up as it can be sometimes to promote small businesses because they understand it's the heartbeat, the literal heartbeat of our economy. Absolutely absolutely, and I think most Americans know that small businesses are vital to our country, so vital to our economy thriving, and so the government does need to step in and do pro tax, pro business tax policy, pro small business regulatory policy, get government out of the way of our small business owners. And reduce those tax burdens and regulatory costs for our small businesses.

1:38:53 So how beautiful was that big bill? It's beautiful, It's very beautiful. Small businesses have been seen in the effects of the one big beautiful bill, the tax bill from last year, making the small business deduction permanent more commonly knows as the pass through deduction. Small businesses have have been reinvesting that back into their businesses now that they have tax certainty that they're not going to face a twenty percent tax hike, and they're they're finally the taxes now and they're seeing the benefits of the tax bill, and they're reinvesting that back in their communities, back in their workers, back in their businesses. We've heard from our members that they're they're starting to grow again.

1:39:33 They're reinvesting back in equipment, back in their businesses, providing bonuses and raises to their workers. And so small businesses are starting to see the effects and it's getting right back into our economy. What kind of problem is Iran causing for them? We haven't we haven't heard a lot yet. We have seen in the last couple of weeks the energy gas prices are back up, But I think our members have not have not juds us. We've never heard from many small businesses that this is having an effect. Yeah, yeah, they're back up, but not where they were in the previous four years, no doubt about it. But yet I think that you know, business, small businesses and you know are they're very optimistic. I mean, that's why you go you go into the business. You have a lot of hope, you have a lot of you know, principle behind you, and you know that if you work hard, you know, it is a meritocracy, you know, lived out for sure. And I think that small businesses under this current administration has a lot of hope and believes that.

1:40:39 Iran though this is a you know, it's a tough situation, but it was inevitable because it was like you could pay me now, pay me later. I always refer to that old Pens oil commercial, right it said you could pay me now, pay me later. The inference and the conclusion always is if you pay later, it's much more expensive. And that's the case in point with Iran. We didn't pay for it back during the Obama years. It accumulated and kept on, you know, just building itself up. To the point that we had to deal with it now. If not now, then what next? I mean, how much more threat to the West would a nuclear run you know have? And then at that point, small businesses, the cost of oil and everything else, you know, it incrementally rises, doesn't it.

1:41:28 Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head. Small businesses are very optimistic. We saw coming into this administration that small business optimism was down, and then after the election we saw its spike to new highs. And so small businesses have been very optimistic, especially during this administration, that Congress and the administration are to take a more business friendly approach to governance. And we've already seen that through the tax bill. Right, small businesses have seen tax relief from the tax bill, They've gotten tax certainty, We've seen a deregatory approach from administration, including exempting US businesses from the Beneficial Ownership Mandate, which was the largest de regulatory action from last year. And so small businesses are seeing the effects of pro business policies and we want them to continue to feel that through this year. And I think inflation was a big issue, especially under the last administration, where energy costs were record highs. Inflation was at a record high, and small businesses felt that, and so they're still lingering effects, but the needles going in the right direction. So we're hoping that that small business costs are going to continue going down and that small business owners could get back to doing what they do best, which is run their business provided their communities, invest in their workers, and honestly thrive.

1:42:48 Yeah, with a minimal amount of interference from the government. I got to imagine, Dylan, that small businesses have got to be coming out in record numbers and support of this administration for the mid term because it's like, Okay, I mean, you already know what the other party will do and what they'll deliver versus what Donald Trump has been delivering for you. Are you ready to risk you know, the momentum and the trajectory that this administration has you on in order to allow uh, you know, the Democrats to come in and h and return us to the previous four years that we had.

1:43:29 Absolutely, I think small business owners have seen effect of good policy over the last year and they're hoping to see that again this year. And so small businesses are going to vote with their with their wallets. They're going to vote with their business elections or business decisions, and so they're going to vote for pro business policy, if that's a Republican or a Democrat. They want someone who's going to put in policy that's going to be good for their business, lower their operating costs, lower their tax burdens, lower the burdens on their on their employees, and so small business are going to vote with their with their feet and make it a business business decision. Are you hearing anything from them that would give you an indication that they would support the Democratic Party? Again, I want to stay away from barn, but you can't help.

1:44:11 But just for the sake of understanding, because I know it sounds harsh sometimes to refer to either your pro American or anti American, because I'm trying to understand why there's any support whatsoever for any kind of group that would be anti American, that would be anti small business. Right, Yeah, I think the small business owners there, small businesses. They're small business owners in both parties, right, And so small businesses do agree that they need business policies, and I think they voted in the last selection for that, and so they want to see that continue if it's a Republican in office, the Democrat in office. They want someone who's going to vote with them. And right now we're seeing a very good pro business policy out of the current Congress and the administration. Whether that's reducing energy costs, they're getting rid of burn some energy regulations that drove off the costs of everything in energy, if that's transportation or their electricity bill.

1:45:13 Whatever that is. And then getting getting government out of their way, getting rid of labor mandates, getting rid of reporting requirements that are burned some into small businesses tax bill last year, making making sure that tax they have tax certainty so they can continue to reinvest in their businesses with that certainty of not facing a massive tax like and so small businesses have seen the pro business policies that are in place, and I have to imagine that they want that to continue. What would you say is the next big step? I mean, we got the big, beautiful bill, huge no question for small business. What would just elate small businesses in such a way that would cause them to you know, double down on their investment of their own companies, to increase their hope to you know, support their employees.

1:46:05 Absolutely. I think the one big beautiful bill was a great step in the right direction. It was a massive step. It was it was a landmark victory for small businesses to make sure that they did not have a tax like. What Congress and the administration could do now is provide certainty on deregulation. They continue the trajectory that they're already going so earlier. This last year, President Trump exempted US businesses from the Beneficial Ownership Mandate, which is a reporting requirement just for small businesses. They have to report their personal information to fins in and if they don't, they faced two years in prison at ten thousand dollars fines. Augusts can make that permanent and exempt US businesses delete the information that's already collected from businesses that now do not have to file, provide that certainty that they're not going to go have to hire a lawyer or CPA to try and help them comply with this mandate. Small businesses also want to see grow business healthcare policy lower those costs for their businesses. It's a massive issue for small businesses to be able to offer healthcare benefits to their employees. It's a massive costs that we do that broadly, So business. Small businesses are looking to Congress to provide more options, lower cost healthcare for those small businesses outside of government and mandates through the Affordable Care Act. Small businesses are also looking for certainty on the heat standard.

1:47:27 The buy An administration proposed massive one size fits all heat standard at the end of their administration. That would be extremely burn some of small businesses to have to provide new record keeping requirements, new paperwork, and training to their employees. And then it paid fifteen minute break for every two hours of work. It's just unworkable. We're we're hearing small business are going to have to hire just to comply, which means they're going to have to raise prices because they can't absorb those costs. And so small businesses are looking to continue in this direction that the administration is already going and continue that deregulatory approach. These things that small businesses want are they draconian? Are they hurtful to employees? Or they advantageous? I mean, because obviously the Biden administration felt like there was some danger here or something.

1:48:14 What do you say, absolutely not your coding. It's common sense policy that small businesses are going to do. What's best for their employees. They have all of the incentive to keep their employees safe, their employees happy, and keep them in their business. They're already struggling to find workers to come on board to hire. It's a massive issue, and so small businesses are going to do what they can to keep their employees at their business, and that means providing them the best benefits they can, providing them the highest wages they can, making sure that they have a safe workplace, and so one size fits all government mandates do not make sense. Small businesses are already going to do what's best. They don't need government mandates to tell them to do that. That's just going to add raise operating costs for these small businesses and then in turn, that's going to increase prices for the consumers. And so it makes absolutely no sense. It's it's common sense policy to get government out of the way of small business owners.
