They're here now, alive and well and out of the closet. Huh. Well, they're good. And the bad news, the bad news is for New York. This is not going to be pleasant.

0:45 The good news is because we have a federalist system, because the people in New York can only really mess up New York City and New York State short term. We can watch what happens in New York when they put limits on how much you can charge you evil person who rents out one of your rooms in your apartment, and they say we have to put limits on it, and then you go, well, I guess then it's not worth my while. So now you have more homelessness as they learn again a three thousand year old history about how price controls don't work and wage controls don't work, and all of the things that they think are really new in interesting because they read them in high school or college. They're going to painfully after it. But here's the good news. Right next door, there are the other states going, we're not crazy, and people can move. There's not a Berlin Wall around New York. They can't keep you there, so they have to limit the damage.

1:48 Well, people are already moving out, as you know, and because they saw it coming and with mom Donnie taking over and now seemingly having a tighter gripp holed. But you know, you talk about rent control. I mean, this is a slum lord in the making. But the slum lord, the lord himself, is going to be the city, right because there's no way they're going to be able to keep it up. No, And and where we really got slums created was when the government came in and created low cost housing, meaning very expensive housing that they don't charge much for Jerry, high cost to taxpayers. And one of the great things is when Malay the new president in Argentina came in to reject all those years of Juan Peronism, and which is really what socialism in New York is. It's wand Paronisms give money of the labor unions to control workers and give money to your friends. And as things collapse around because people leaver stop working, you blame somebody else and call the army out. But they have a new government there. Malay is the libertarian, free market conservative guy.

2:56 And one of his rules was he said, those of you in charge of like low cost housing, are not allowed to call it low cost because it's very expensive. You can call it subsidized housing, but you may not in any official document refer to something in the cost twice as much as the private sector low cost. I love that idea. I wish we'd do that here, well exactly and then here. I mean it's all a ruse. I mean, it's sleight of hand. That's what goes on. It's the way politicians work, sadly, and it's really duped the people. But you know, as they said, they're out of the closet now and you see what's happening. I mean, you've got people from other countries now because the World Cup, we can be thankful for it. They're excited. I mean, whether it's BUCkies or in and Out or other things Walmart. You know, the amount of products that are available, it's beyond them. And of course you know they're loving some of them, our condiments on top of it, but overall they're almost reminding the rest of America why we love America.

3:56 To have the Europeans come over to soccer their sport, and to discover America and put it online. I don't know what happened before now, whether they there's that many here, whether they're going to places outside of the you know, just going to national parks which introduce you to Bears, but not America, you know, but you go to small towns or medium sized towns and they're having these games all over the place. You really see the country and they realize the size of the houses, the low cost of you get second and third cups of coffee or a diet coke and a restaurant you go. Really they know, ice cubes, things they don't have over there. Air conditioning, I mean, the number of there's a sad part the number of Europeans who die from heat too much heat is very high, very low in the United States, very high over there. They don't have air conditioning to speak of.

4:56 And it's maybe it's part of their effort not to use energy or something, but or they just can't afford it. But Europe is a poor continent compared to the United States. We forget that because we go visit and we go to Paris, the downtown area, like a couple of square miles, and oh, there's lots pretty fancy, pretty new, and we go visit cathedrals that nobody actually goes to, but they're pretty, and we come back and go, that's pretty impressive. If we'd gone half a mile out, you'd have seen depressing what we would consider depressing housing situations and not very fun places to live. Europe is in decline because of socialism or whatever they want to call it, welfare state.

5:43 For so many to see that and then share it maybe a wake up moment for some Americans who go, why are you surprised? You and I have talked about that study that was done that if Britain became a state, it'd be the fifty first forest Britain, not not Italy, not don't know the Balkans or something Britain used to run the world would be the fifty first poor US state after Mississippi, and Mississippi's getting better and better every year. This is not sustainable for them, and but we ought to at least acknowledge we don't have to lord it out over them all the time. But they're not watching the show, right that the guy's over in Paris, I hope.

6:25 But but Americans do need to realize how good they happen. Yeah. Well, and the thing is is, with these people coming here, I love, you know, I love their fun and their attitude. And you know, some of the guys are getting carried away and putting parking cones on top of, you know, some of the monuments, and unlike Americans, I mean they actually heard the police. The police said, hey, take it off, and they took it off. You know, the crazy people we have here in this country would tear down the you know, tear down the monument. But you know, it's just it's just fun. It's fun to see them having fun, enjoying themselves in our country and reminding us again of you know, how blessed we are.

7:09 Grover to your point. Yeah, it's and now the key thing is it, Benjamin Franklin, Mister Franklin, what kind of government do we have? The lady says, they come out of the constitution, constitutional convention. He says, the republic, ma'am, if you can keep it. We have a very prosperous republic if we can keep it. And look, that's on every generation. We think of the heroism of the guys who found it and everything. But it's our job not to blow us that's right, and to keep it safe, which is not effortless. It takes a lot of work. Well, because you know, I tell my kids all time, there's this story I know if I share this with you.

This guy in you was in San Francisco at Alioto's, the restaurant there on the wharf, and he's watching this guy selling and he notices he doesn't put the lid back on the box. You know, they're live crabs. And every once a while he's seeing a pincher sticking out over the edge. He's looking. He goes, there's the water. He goes, what's this guy crazy? What kind of entrepreneur is he? He's going to lose his inventory Finally his curiosity got to him and he goes to the guy and goes, hey, look at I've been watching you sell these crabs. Aren't you afraid they're going to get out? I mean, every once in a while I see a pincher getting out, and you know, and there's the water. They could escape pretty quickly. And the guy says, oh, you don't understand it. He says, crabs are like people. As soon as one tries to get out of the box, the other people, the other crabs pull them back down into the box. And I say, you know, that's an interesting dynamic because in our country here, it is we came up with this great American idea and there were crabs in the box that wanted to pull these revolutionaries back into the box to be, you know, to forego their freedom grower.

And when you can kind of expose that that's what they're doing. They try and demonize a group or an industry or something. Throughout history, minority groups you know, Armenians and Lebanese in Africa, and Chinese Guys in Asia and Jews other places. Break that down for our audience. What's going on here? This is very very sad and very very dangerous. Ms. Warren.

14:41 Elizabeth Warren is a left wing socialist who really wants the government to run everything okay out of Massachusetts. Uh, it's all a political act for her. She used to be a Republican economist and she decided in Massachusetts if you're want to that have power and that's where you go. So she did. So she actually knows better. She knows this stuff won't work. But I think she's playing to the envy and the hate and that sort of feeling that people have successfully in Massachusetts. Bernie Marino is nominally a Republican from Ohio, which is a ruby red state. He was a business guy who sold cars, and he got elected taking the pledge and never to raise taxes.

15:23 He got elected running as a Reagan Republican. He got elected wanting to be for limited government. He said he was never going to get into the and when there was a movement by some in the White House, some people were trying to betray the president and get him to take the top rate and raise it like Biden and Obama and all these other left wing Democrats want to do, because that playing to envy. You know, we'd have pro growth stuff over here, but then we'd have this envy thing going for us, like that was a virtue instead of a sin. And this was very sad. I mean, the President called me the day before he made the night he made his final decision, and there was a lot of pressure from that pressure. But people yammering at him in his staff, okay, in the White House, and the president vice president was a cheerleader for this process was written up in the Wall Street Journal at the time, and his people were all pushing for this.

16:17 It wasn't It was a close run thing, except Trump said no, no, no, So it happened. Ernie Marino at the time was a hero and denouncing this idea. This can never happen. We should not be playing envy and so on. And he just not only co sponsored with Elizabeth Warren Bernie Marino Republican nominally now I guess, and the lady Democrat in Massachusetts. They wrote a piece in the New York Times. Right, it's not like he thought this was some conservative thing. He was tricking her into. You know what it is. It's a three trillion dollar tax increase over ten years, a three trillion dollar tax increase which would eat up almost all of the Trump tax cut.

17:00 Yeah, the big beautiful bill which is vapor. Yeah, exactly. Why in the world. And you know, he goes, oh, we're gonna save SoC security. Oh really, You're going to give the Democrats three trillion dollars and they gonna do what with it. Let's see, when Clinton got elected, SO Security was going bankrupt, he raised taxes and he spent none of it on SO Security. Then when Obama got elected and Sostcurity was also going bankrupt, they raised a bunch of taxes and none of what's so security. And they set up a new spending program which is going to go bankrupt even more than sold security. And then Biden comes in and he's got the ninety trillion dollars that he wanted to spend on the Great New Deal, the trillions of dollars spent, Oh, I'm sorry, and taxes nothing for SOCI Security. This is just the last trick that they go to the new kid on the black I'm sorry, but Bernie's the new kid in Washington evidently doesn't understand when somebody who hates you and wants to see you die and the dirt offers you, you know, a good idea, you might double check it with your friend, see if it's a good idea.

17:59 Quote quote good good idea right. Every center right now, analyst in town and around the country has just hammered Bernie Marino led his way into office, said he would oppose all tax increases. Now he's cheerleading for a three trillion dollar tax increase, fibbing, and maybe he's not lying, but he thinks that this would go somehow to social Security. Really, really, you put three trillion dollars in the hands of the Democrats, and every once in a while they were in the House of the Senate, boom boom, it's gone in a ear, it's gone. Right. Yeah. The thing is, it's consistent. If you want to know what somebody is going to do, look what they've done. And the Democrats have always done that, So why would we think different now. So this proposal that eliminates Social Security payroll tax cap, how does this work or does it work?

18:52 Well, what this really hits is small and medium sized businesses. That's who it's going to smash. A lot of independent contractors, independent workers. If you're an independent contractor or, you run a small business as a sub chapter as corporation. Basically you run the company as if inside your income tax so you pay personal income taxes on everything that's earned by the company. So the companies, you know, everything you put into making the things get better and better in the future, and like investments and so on, that all goes in and it's treated as if it was your money and you look like a rich person when you're really a business with money and assets to get stuff done.

19:37 They want to have twelve plus percent on both sides of Social Security. Technically, you pay six percent and your employer pays six percent if you have a job with a company. Okay, of course, the company doesn't see that money as far as they're concerned. It's yours. They're just sending it to the government for you. So you really have your paid six percent more than you think you are. It just gets taken away, gets sent to the government for soci Security, and then there's the six percent things. So it's about twelve to half percent of your salary goes to the federal government for Social Security. There's no lock box, as al Gore wanted to create. No lock box.

20:17 There's no money in a box. There's no investment in a box in a cave or anywhere in Washington, d c. The checks come in from you and they go out for your mom or your grandma. Okay, out the door the next day. There's no savings. The challenge is unlike a real pension, like most Americans have sixty five percent of Americans are in the stock market. Mostly that's people who have a job, and it's called a pension, but what it really is is your savings. It's your life savings, and then it builds up and then when you retire you can live off the savings. You can sell the money that's accumulated. If your social security was done the same way as they do in Chile in some other countries, and instead of taking twelve percent of your salary every year, every year, at every paycheck really and spending it and sending it to the government, it went into your savings, then what would happen is you could save that during your lifetime and you'd be much better off. You'd actually get more money than social security. I'm sorry, I'm trying to kill my phone and then I held it down on the wrong thing. It started to make a noise like an emergency. I'm afraid the cops are going to show up and see what the problems that turned it off.

21:31 They can't find me now. So you'd be better off if you took SoC security, put it into a four to one k or an IRA, then you'd be rich and have money to spend, much better than soci security. The present sociecurity system makes you poor, okay, because it's a They don't invest the money. They just take the money from you now, send it out the door, and then later your children or your grandchildren pay for you. So if you just stopped doing it and let people put money in a four wink, we'd all be better off their transition costs and so on. And you have to figure out how to do that. But dropping three trillion in doesn't save social Security. It just pushed backs the date when it all falls apart again, right exactly, Because we've had many of these dates where it all falls apart. The solution each time has been raised taxes and make the problem worse in the future. So we need to not raise taxes. Raising taxes is what politicians do instead of fixing a problem.

22:29 Were they ever supposed to yield any kind of interest ROI off that money they were taking from the people. Was it ever presented that way. People think of it? They renamed it so it's now not social certain. They don't call it an investment because it isn't. They don't call it a retirement savings plan because there's no savings. I think they've gotten a little more honest in the way it's presented. Back in the thirties when they first put it in. You know, the first woman to get so security check had just turned sixty five and they gave her a check. Where that money come from people who just started working. And so for a while, when we had many more young people than old people because we had more children, but older people didn't live as long, then you could have ten people giving a little bit in and then the one person could have a lot of money when they retired.

23:24 But as the numbers are down to like two to one, you've got two people working for one, you guys think, and there's no build up of capital. I think the best thing to do is to dramatically expand education savings accounts, health savings accounts, your four or one K, your IRA, your portable pension that goes with you from job to job, so you don't I mean people used to get stuck in a job. The golden handcuffs they called them, because if you didn't stay there twenty years and didn't vest nothing, you walked out the door, you had nothing. Now its yours and it goes with you, which is a big improvement for everybody, and most people now have that, and we've not thanks to Trump accounts that twenty four million kids are going to get it like this exactly and have some money being saved the parents cannot to.

24:18 Next time, you and I have really got to get into this. We touched on it, I think a couple of meetings ago, but I really want to open up this bucket of worms, because you know, you think the way the government has handled unions. They make sure that their retirement funds are vetted, they're invested, they get an ROI and here we are, the American people that are feeding, you know, the big engine, and we get bubkis. Yes. Unfortunately, because Roosevelt wanted to show immediate payout, so instead of saying, okay, we're going to start saving this and then pay it for you, they immediately took the money and spend it out the door, so that there was no savings, so it wouldn't be sustainable. It was never sustainable. It's technically called the Ponzi scheme. Exactly one person's dollar and claim you're investing it, but you're really handing it off to the last guy, so that all the new investors lose all their lose their shirts. You go jail for that if you're not the federal government.

25:20 But we need to strengthen for our win ks and iras and health savings accounts and education saving accounts. We are doing that now, and we also need to let people, as Chili did, opt out of Social Security, say thank you very much. I'm gonna do this, and we'll find a way to make every make sure people are whole that stay in the program. But since it's a program scheduled to go bankrupt, the fewer people in it, the better off we are long term. The only people leave voluntarily. It's like I have a better deal over here, Thank you very. Much, exactly. Well, first of all, let me say happy forth to July to you as we're celebrating our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the greatest country on God's Green Earth here. Huh.

30:30 Well, I keep my flag out a year round because I love America and this is this season. Two hundred and fiftieth anniversary is my favorite time. I was a kid when we had the bi centennial celebration, and I remember a lot of it, and I actually want to see more of it. When I was a kid, it was almost a year long celebration. And I also know how many of my neighbors and friends and community we're excited about it. I see these surveys now that say there's a huge difference between whether you love the country or not.

31:15 Yeah, it's amazing. Conservatives by and large are holding steady ninety percent say they love America. The differential is on the Democratic side, and of course we saw that. You know what happened this past week in New York that the Democratic Socialists are coming out, and I think maybe America is waking up to the reality that our country is under siege. Here. Well, I've been saying for a while, for a couple of years, that you can tell that the progressives, socialists, whatever you want to call these people are on the upswing, and they are in fact hollowing out from the inside and killing the world's oldest political party. Now I lament this because I say competition matters. Yes, they have bad policies, the progressive, the socialists, or whoever these people are. But if you have competition, the Republican Party and the Democrat Party actually thrive and improve. But when the canter has taken over, all you have now is one vibrant party, the Republican Party, and then you have this crippled thing that is the antithesis of what most voters think. Why is that not good? It's not good because if one

32:45 side is the equivalent of vote for me, I'm a serial killer and I'm coming after your children, and the other side gets to just simply say I'm not that, you just skip the kind of dynamic competition that is needed. Yeah, because you're not talking policies at this point. And you know, not a big surprise here, because, as you said, the Democratic Party, you know, with identity politics, they've done exactly that. You know, they have, you know, tried to use the Republican Party as a foil, and all they can talk about is how much they hate Donald Trump and conservatism. Yeah. Well, take the state of Texas where I live. The Democrats haven't had a success statewide for over thirty years.

33:35 And one would say, oh, I have an idea, why don't I change the type of person that I'm going to put up for a nomination as a way to make myself more competitive for the last thirty years. But guess what. Instead of doing that, the Democrats have run candidates that are even more radical than the candidates that ran just four years ago. It's like suicide by politics. And it is a reason. And the reason is as the Democrats are getting smaller and smaller, the share of the people who are the crazies become way more dominant.

34:22 If you want people to put your signs up, it's the crazies that are going to put the signs up. If you hold a convention, it's the crazies that show up, and until some senior adults within the party stand up, this trend continues. I saw a survey twelve percent of people self described Democrats love America. Well, it's the job of those twelve percent to figure out how to take their party back or else they're headed for a collapse. But America suffers if we don't force both parties to compete, be dynamic, and offer the best options to the American people.

I predict that that's the same phenomenon at work today. When you are a justice you can't even tell what a woman or a man is, it very likely that you would stall when it comes time to offer your descent. You see, the opinion can't come down until both the majority decision and the minority decision are completed. These high profile cases are hindered precisely because the minority isn't willing and guess what

I was one year old in Christ and we said we will never forget. You know, united we stand and we forgot, and we are divided right now. And this is a home land security issue. This isn't a religious issue, this is this is human rights homeland security for me, and this is a trauma for just watching. I am right now in a Times Square, New York City right now for meetings, and I I want to tell you it is trauma right now seeing how people are so freely are being offensive to our freedom here right.

Is that just happening once a week or is that on a daily basis? Now? And I think if this is a freedom issue, this means we are losing our freedom as other Stitizans, non believing Muslim Stitizans in America. And this is a scary part of what is going on here. You mentioned in nine to eleven that you were a first year Christian. Tell us about what was it in your life that opened up your to embrace Jesus.

Outside of the home, violence was everywhere, and I was a little girl that witnessed people killing each other during Civil War years, Armstand Lakes Flying, I woke in the Blood Lakes as a nine year old, seven year old and coming to America, I was I escaped for my life from my radical Muslim husband who put a knife on my throat and told me to jump from a very high building. And it was my escape, and I had a high You know, I was a career woman at that time, highly educated, but my mindset was a Muslim, so my education didn't help anything. And after so many failures, I found myself in a place of suicide. On the day I was going to commit suicide, Jesus Christ revealed himself to me in a miraculous day in my Christian boss's office, and I still under my life to him, and he changed my life for the better.

1:16:04 Of course. You know, I've often said that when you are involved in a culture and ideology, it really dumbs you down. How liberating was it for you to accept Christ? And all of a sudden the scales are falling off and you are you're getting a new kind of a download of heavenly intellect? Is that fair to say? It is? It is to have mind of Christ and when they intellect? Because that day, I remember I was twenty eight years old and I was feeling like I was ninety years old. I had the world on my shoulders, and grace of Jesus Christ was tangible, He tangibly physically.

1:16:45 I could feel it. The weight, tons of weight were lifted on my shoulders and I became a new creation. It was so real to me that from that moment on, I became a soul winner and I let have it. People to Christ in the next week days without knowing a single word of God Bible verse. I was just telling them Jesus Christ is real and he saved my life. Just like Summer. It's a woman, bill Well, and just like the blind man I tell people all the times. I think sometimes they try to make their conversion story so complex when it really is so simple, you know. And because that's one of my favorite stories in the Bible, and you talk about a testimony and a witness, it's just the blindness.

So obviously you got out of this violent marriage, right, yes, yeah, but you still pray for your husband, don't you. Oh? Yeah, of course. And forgiveness is not an option for us if we want to start our healing journey. And again, we can't expose the radical Islam, but we are still loving them, Jesus said. When I was a first time I heard this from my Christian boss. He said, Jesus says, love your enemies. And that was mind blowing revelation to me because I have never heard anything like that in Islam.

I mean this is generational, thousands of years of hatred that you know, you weren't the first generation to be, you know, indoctrinated accordingly, and you know you're you're taught to hate, to think that everybody's less than and then and then all of a sudden you start reading the Word of God and you realize, Hey, as a child of God, I am. I am made in the image of God to reflect God's image of love and grace and mercy and forgiveness. Uh. It's like, wow, what what a new beginning for you? Absolutely, you know, Corey Tamboom said books, if people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love. Yeah, and it is my story.

I know that sometimes people freak out when they hear about all the bad news, and I tell people sometimes, you know, I say, you know, I consider myself to be a butt Christian and they go, a butt Christ, What do you mean by buck Christians? I said, well, because when you read the Bible, you hear all the bad news is coming, and it says but for Jesus, but for God. Right, So I say, you know that's me. I'm a butt christ because I believe in that transitional phrase that God uses so powerfully that regardless of how bad it may look. Because look, look what's happening in the Muslim world. I mean, people are dreaming dreams, just the way the Bible said that people would do, and they're coming, and they're dreaming about Jesus.

We are on the same team, and he's revealing himself to Muslims through dreams and missions. You know what is it like? I mean here it is for all that you've gone through, doctor Shick. Is that you you know you're threatened by a husband, You're living in fear. God liberates you. You are free, you are vibrant, and you are all all in for Jesus.

Yes, because I didn't learn Islam from textbooks. But I didn't learn also Jesus Christ from textbooks. I have a personal encounter with him. So there is one thing nobody can take it from you when you meet Jesus. And you know in Book of Revelation it says we overcome the enemy. We overcome him how by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of our testimony. So I am obligated. I am called to share my testimony before any message because we can overcome this evil regime and evil deception throughout our testimony. And this is what I am.

The American Cancer Society is estimating there's going to be over two hundred and twenty nine thousand new lung cancer cases in the United States this year. Finding lung cancer early before it spreads greatly improved survival rates, so early detection is critical. Lung cancer screening is considered one of the most effective tools available in early detection, reducing the risk of death from the disease by twenty percent. Michelle Fatralle is going to be joining us. She's a registered nurse and health advocate.

1:26:54 We're going to talk about lung cancer screening, eligibility, the misconceptions surrounding the disease, and why so few high risk individuals are getting screened. Michelle, welcome the show. Good to have you with us. Thank you, it's great to be here. Well, lung cancer third most common cancer in men and women combined in the US, right. Yes, and of course, well and you said you said it. According to the American Cancer Society, in twenty twenty six, they anticipate two hundred and twenty nine thousand to be diagnosed. Wow, that's a growth. So again we're looking at lung cancer being quite prevalent specifically the NSCLC in the United States.

1:27:37 Right, Yeah, non non small cell lung cancer accounts for about eighty to eighty five percent cases of all lung cancers diagnosed. So clearly what we're sounding the alarm on is early detection. It is most important, right. Yes, early detection matters because, just like with other cancers, if lung cancer is found early, it's treatable and sometimes curable, which I think you know, we don't hear that message enough about lung cancer and. The screening guidelines used for testing. Yeah, so the United States Preventative Services Task Force recommends an annual lung cancer screening with a low dose CT based on the current guidelines, which are eighty ages fifty to eighty with individuals with a twenty pack year history those who are currently smoking or have quit smoking within the past fifteen years.

1:28:31 Now, when you say twenty pack history, that's like over the year, right, So we're basically saying, what half a pack a week or something. Well, if you well know, if you smoked about a pack a day for twenty years. Oh, a pack of day. Or half a pack a day for forty years? Right? So yeah, okay, and the cancer screening explain to our audience what does that entail? Sure, it's so, it's a lodos cat scan. And I do like to clarify because I get the question a lot. Is this like the MRI the long tube you go in, And it's not. It's the more donut. We always describe it as the donut shaped machine. So it's open on both ends, and it's a quick scan. The scan usually take.

1:29:15 The scan itself usually takes about less than a minute. There's no IV required, no DIE required. It's quick and it's easy, and it provides a detailed view of the lungs, including the ability to you know, detect small spots or nodules. Michelle, that's incredible. I mean, just like you said, if you go into tube, you could be in the tube fifteen to twenty minutes in most cases generally, and here you're talking about you know, maybe a minute or two. Yes, very matter of fact. A lot of times, you know, I would tell people it takes longer to get you set up for the scan than actually getting the scan itself. So what is a biomarker testing and how can it be used to guide treatment plans following a diagnosis?

1:29:59 Yeah, so you know, you talked about early detection being key, and early detection is key because it leads to early treatment, but you know, we want to make sure it's the right treatment, and the comprehensive biomarker testing at the time of diagnosis allows healthcare providers to consider more tailor or targeted approach to care. You know when you talk about adoption rates of screening for eligible patients in the US, that they still remain low, about twenty five percent, particularly in comparison to other cancer screening programs such as breast and color rectal cancer, which is about sixty five percent. This is revealing a critical implementation gap, right.

1:30:41 Yes, you know, we need to do better with lung cancer screening. And you know, I talked to a lot of people about lung cancer screening and there are still many people that aren't even aware that there is a screening for lung cancer. And so you know, that's part of our message is to talk about it, to raise awareness, and to talk to your doctor or your healthcare provider about screening and you know, lung cancer screening specifically to find out if you're eligible. What are the barriers that are holding this number down? Michelle Well awareness is a big barrier, I think, you know, fear of lung cancer itself can play a role in that, which is why again, you know, we push the message of early detection is key.

1:31:26 And can make a difference even in lung cancer. You know, it's more treatable and sometimes curable, and we don't always get that message out there. People don't always get that message about lung cancer. And there is some stigma surrounding lung cancer right now, the eligibility criterias for those who have smoked, but about fifty percent of individuals diagnosed with lung cancer don't even meet that criteria at time of diagnosis. So stigma can play a role in that as well. Well. With the technology is available and the smart things that are happening in healthcare, you know, maybe we just encourage people as best we can to put aside those fears and let's let's apply some common sense here. So what are you know, Michelle, you know, you're advising people, say in a in a room of you know, let's say twenty thousand people, and you know, what would you tell them that they need to be concerned about and what would make them a candidate to you know, not to pass go or collect two hundred dollars, but go and get checked.

1:32:31 So yeah, I would encourage any well, so anyone who has a history of smoking talk to their doctor about screening to see if they qualify. I think that's the most important thing. Even if you're not sure, just talk to your doctor, talk to your healthcare provider. You know, that's the best thing you can do, is just to have that conversation with them to find out if you are eligible. Yeah. I mean, if you look back in your history and whether talking twenty packs a day or whatever, but you've had a history of smoking, maybe that should be one flag. And especially if it's been a long term kind of a lifestyle. Even though maybe you haven't smoked and you gave up smoking, you know, decades ago, you still want to, you know, be wise about this, right.

1:33:18 Yes, And I would say it's still worth that conversation, you know, with your provider to check into your eligibility for screening or if there's other next steps that they would want want you to take. But I would always encourage just to ask the question, even if you're not sure. Right, we're talking with Michelle Fatall. She's a registered nurse, a director of lung cancer Screening Programs and Initiatives at Longevity Foundation, Michelle, what about people who are around you know, we heard a lot there for a while. I haven't heard a lot lately about people that are around secondhand smoke. Yeah, secondhand smoke as best as exposure, raid on ex exposure, air pollution, occupational hazard or hazards.

1:34:03 These are all. You know, things that can contribute or factors that can drive lung cancer as well, which currently the guidelines don't include these exposures. However, like I said, we always just encourage people to to just to talk to their doctor to find out if they are eligible. So you have to be eligible in order to go through this program. So in order for insurance coverage, there are some programs and you know it's specific to you know, different healthcare facilities. But this is why it's always important to refer back to your provider. There are some programs that do offer screenings outside of guidelines. There's many now that are offering screenings to first responders and firefighters. So you know, it's always worth that conversation to find out if there's in something being offered at your health care facility.

1:35:03 Well, I got to imagine some of these vets who've come back and they've been around burn. Pits, right, Yes, and there are I know the VA has a big screening program as well, and so and there are some programs too that yes, they will you know, they offer that for some of the veterans. Well. They're pretty well talked about being plugged in, right, They're kind of siloed there, and you know, we'll have to see how this plays out. Of course, the East Coast is going through their birth pangs, and you know, I think I hear Paul Revere on the East Coast saying the socialists are coming. Yeah, well, you know, I guess people are going to get to find out, right, let's let's see what happens. And I mean I have an idea because I'm old enough to have lived through it the first time. It's not going to end well, I mean it's but I do think it speaks to you know, a lot of people in the younger generations are just they're fed up with what they see as a lack of opportunity, with inflation, with affordability. The needs are real, and so I get the emotional appeal of the proposed solution, right. And if it seems like, oh, you got a bunch of big companies and a handful of billion and trillionaires getting theirs and we're you know, struggling to scrape buy I get it. Unfortunately, I would suggest that the prescription is not going to cure the disease.

1:41:55 Yeah, we would say in the business context that correct observation, wrong conclusion. You know, these kids are right, I mean, there is pain here in River City. The solution is not to bring on more pain. And as we experienced in COVID that the solution was worse than the disease. And that's what they're being tempted with because you have a lot of theoreticians, you know, these academic types that sit there, you know, in their faculty lounges, drinking up coffee and theorizing, but not having much empirical data, which is amazing because you think these are academics. I mean most academics that I've been around. You know, they have to do their research. They're very well disciplined. They just don't go off shooting at the hip. But it seems in today's environment it's okay to be reckless and just throughout your theories out there like it's proven gospel.

1:42:49 No, that's exactly right, and I think unfortunately, the reality that we're living in today is we're living in an emotional echo chamber. You know, I've said this before. You don't have me on to talk politics. That's not my primary Baileywig. But here's here's where I will, you know, draw the dotted line to what I do, which is entertainment and technology. One of the things we talk about is how the things that we consume on our screens affect our worldview. And I think two things have happened with social media and with media in general. I think the idea and the dream of objective journalism has largely vanished.

1:43:33 You know. Now we just have different advocacy positions and we live in, especially on social media, just this world of emotional argumentation. You know, everything is just emotions turned up to ten. And I get it. We feel things deeply, we want to process it. But when you only ever do that and you operate like that, emotions are are a good thing, right, They're a part of how God designed us, but they're only a part. And you know, I talk to my kids constantly and say, how is what you're watching influencing you emotionally? And when you take a step back from your emotions, how do you see it differently when you're trying to think through anything, you know, a position, an argument, a movie, a song from a rational point of view, Right, what do you see? How is it different? Because I think sometimes we're so programmed at this point to respond emotionally, and our kids especially are that that second step never even happens. And that's how we get you know, these sorts of problems in our culture, which is, you know, we're all wrapped up into this infatuation with socialism when it's pretty clear it's not going to work.

1:44:56 Well, you said something that was key and that is rational and to your olds are not rational, right. Two year olds just want what they want. If not, they're going to hit you. And you know, and that's I mean, here we are. We're we're in a culture where the two year olds have taken over and at some point there has to be a breakthrough here to where we can really break this down. Like you say, you know, maybe we give too much credit to the media. You know, even though they're protected by our constitution, they should be much more responsible. Unfortunately, they got into the bubble and their participants in this two year old program and instead of breaking it down and saying, okay, what is what's the reality of these young kids that can't afford to buy a home? You know, most people in our generation bought homes in their twenties. Kids now can't buy a home until their forties. Average home now they're saying, you know, in many markets a million dollars as a starter home.

1:45:57 I mean, that's just absurd. But you see what happen is what the media is not doing and some of these other people, because they're so caught into this system that may be working for them. You know, we've got a big divide between the haves and have nots. Well, the haves have they they're kind of above the fray. They've figured out how they're not affected so much by government regulations and all these things that are trapping the people on the lower end of the scale, and so they're bogged down. It's unfair for them, and all they feel is like, Okay, there's got to be an answer. And the socialists come in and go, hey, we're everybody's gonna share Kumbaya and all this stuff. But you know, of course the socialists don't tell you that. Yeah, it's true, you're gonna share everything.

1:46:42 You're gonna share it with us. Yeah, but particularly you're gonna share misery. I mean, and if you think not, just to you know, do a little bit of study of what happened in Argentina. I mean, for what seventy eighty years shared misery. There was a mess, and it took their current president to come in and say, hey, look at have you had enough of this stuff? Do you want to try to do something different. Let's go back and see when we were doing well. When we were doing well, we were you know, we were more democratized. We were doing things you know, from a capitalistic, you know point of view, and look what's happened there. I mean, now you've got people that are rejoicing in the streets. Right, No, that's right. And I think whatever problems capitalism may have, and I again, I try to have this conversation with my kids. Yes, there are there's corruption, Yeah, there are people who don't play by the rules, but you get a system that incentivizes entrepreneurship, It incentivizes hard work, it incentivizes people to put their shoulder to the plow, and socialism doesn't do any of that. It incentivizes doing nothing and sitting there with your handout waiting for the government to give you, you know, give you whatever they want to give you, which ain't going to be very much unfortunately.

And then all of a sudden they realize, well, Adam, you're kind of being a little bit of a pain. Why don't we just help you? And the problem is when we old folks try to say, actually, we do understand, that argument is often rejected emotionally too. You know, there's some redemptive stuff here, but she doesn't play a nice, squeaky clean version of Superhero, which is what we have seen in the past. She plays a drunken, cynical, hard living version who seeks out planets with a red son because the red Sun enables her to be normal. It takes her powers away and she can get drunk and drown her drown her miseries, and the miseries that she's drowning have to do with her planet being destroyed, so there is something there that's a little bit sympathetic. And she meets a teen girl who is seeking revenge for her family being killed, and they kind of team up, and she's like, yeah, you know, maybe the revenge thing not the best. Her dog gets poisoned. You know, super things happened, lots of combat, lots of profanity, a fairly cynical outlook that sort of lurches towards some redemptive things in the end.
