To talk about something I tell you our audience is still very focused on, and that has to do with election integrity. I mean, you had all these people saying, hey, we had the safest election ever in twenty twenty. You still have about sixty three percent according to the latest bowling that believes that the twenty twenty election was not so fair and not so secure. And of course then with the latest FBI involvement or you know, I don't know how do you call it, but confiscations or whatever. Yeah, their investigation, they go into Atlanta, find a Fulton count and find all these discrepancies and all these bal I mean, this is nuts. And Rosberger, I don't know how he can live with himself after lying to everybody saying this was the most secure election ever that you know, Georgia Fulton County especially, did such an outstanding job when everybody knew on its face there was just enough smoke there that we couldn't quite get to the fire. But it seems that, thank you very much, Telca Gabbert and the FBI, we might be starting to get some of the fire here.

1:29 And if this falls, Mike, I mean, what will that do with those other areas of question across the country. I mean, there's just so much to unpack when it comes to election integrity, and if you want to start with the twenty twenty election and then bring it up to twenty twenty six where we are today. But starting back with the twenty twenty election, we all know that the left, the liberals, Democrats took advantage of the fact that we were in a COVID emergency. They saw an opportunity, and the opportunity was simple, is to impose widespread vote by mail on the populace, remove the fact that we had in person election day voting in this country and instead replace that with weeks and weeks of mail in voting, mail ballot voting. Now, remember what how this originally occurred.

2:10 Absentee voting was originally envisioned to apply to a very small segment of the populace right military who were deployed overseas, or maybe a small segment of the infirmed who are unable to get to. And the total mike, just to keep in perspective for people to understand, we're talking what less than ten percent of the electric cast ballots in that category. Absolutely, and it was never we never intended it for election integrity purposes. The best way, the gold standard, if you will, is obviously identification in person paper voting on election day. And that's as simple as that. And now you can maybe convince me that if you want to have open if you want to have a week before or if you want to come early voting in person, I.

2:55 Might be able to. I can see where that might be. I can meet you halfway on there. As long as you want to go into your your clerk of your elections, your election officials offices in LOWD County, Virginia where we live. If we want to vote early, and we can vote weeks in early, we have to go to the elections office in person and vote there. Well, okay, maybe you can convince me to that, but generally speaking, we want in person paper ballots on election day, and that's your cific. That's really almost a civic obligation, civic duty to do get yourself to the polling place and go vote. It's it's you know, one day every year, or every two years or every four years, you go and you vote. Well, of course, the left saw the opportunity and they moved in and they imposed mail ballot. They saw how it worked in states like Oregon and Washington that have mail balloting.

3:36 They understand that there is mail balloting and nobody can dispute this. I mean, you have bipartisan commissions who factored this in that mail ballot is inherently risky, is completely is a riskier process and open to malfeasans and fraud versus in person voting. And this is why the left can do this. So what you saw in twenty twenty was the COVID most states, many states took advantage, imposed these mail vote or didn't impose it, but implemented mail voting options. So people are scared to show up and vote in personal election day. And the left saw their opportunity and we're able to manufacture I call it mischief. It's really difficult. You know, people talk about the word fraud. Fraud's really hard to prove. You have to intent, but at at a minimum, there was widespread mischief here. We saw a lot of ballots getting processed, improper ballot processing procedures.

4:20 You saw ballot stuffing, and the whole process was really ascure. And you're seeing this come out. We knew this in twenty twenty. We talked about it going into the election. In twenty twenty, we saw it happen. In twenty twenty. You had a lot of lawsuits because a lot of judges, a lot of everybody says, well, no lawsuits went through. Well the reason, well, none of these lawsuits went through is because of the standing issue the relitigans wenever afforded the opportunity to compose discovery and get into the meat of it. So what are we seeing now, fast forward to twenty twenty six. The evidence is coming out about all the mouthe's it's in twenty twenty. And also we had this bill that's in the in Congress right now which will help effectuate the election integrity. Well up will increase if the effect this of the integrity of the electoral process. It's called the Save Act. It was passed by the House of Representative. There's also now a new derivative, it the Save America Vote Act or Save Save America Act.

5:09 And essentially what these require, of course is voter id uh, require states to identify and remove non citizens from their voter roles, require people to register on you know it dispenses with voting, are taking ballots after election day. So you're seeing a lot of movements to to really restoring the electoral integrity of our process necessary. We want to see this vote. Of course, it's passed in the House of Representatives, it is not It has not been up for a vote yet in the in the in the Senate. There's a lot of pressure building for a vote in the Senate. I'm reguardedly optimistic that it is going to come to a vote. If it takes a talking filibuster to break, then so be it. We need this, the United States of America needs this Save Act for our election, for the integrity of our electoral processes.

5:54 The argument right now, the counter argument is that this federalizes the election process, which by constitution is the onus is on the states. Well, clearly, the states are our laboratories are compromised right now. They're very corrupt, is what we're seeing. And so you know, maybe for a period of time, maybe this needs to be federalized so that we can kind of bring it to standard. Because you know, when you talk about what the Democrats did with just opening up the floodgates kind of like they opened up the border, right, they opened up, you know, the election process, and I question whether or not they even you know, studied the Carter Baker Commission that did this long you know, did this incredible study saying, look at you know, ballot processing.

6:49 You know, we had to maintain integrity, that if we compromise some of these principles, it was going to open it up to voter fraud. I mean, that was a clear, you know, executive conclusion on this. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Democrats took, you know, some of the information in that commission and utilized it and implemented it as part of the twenty twenty election. Yeah. Well, one of the things that I wrote a brief in Bernovich, this is a Supreme Court case about it, and what we talked about where the problems. Bernovich was a case that involved ballot harvesting and it promoted, it stopped ballot harvesting. Arizona passed the law that prohibitive ballot harvesting essentially, and so that's really what ballot harvesting is. What is when you allow people, non family members to collect mail ballots. And so what they do is they go around to vulnerable populations. You'll go to a nursing home, or you'll go to a community center or something, and you'll push people, you'll bring them ballots or you'll say fill out your ballots, fell out yourb out, and you'll collect them en mass. And it's just open to fraud and it's indisputable. And of course they saw that there was the ballot collections, and you see that when you see these videos of people stuffing these boxes and putting these in these drop boxes, putting ballot after ballot, those are ballot harvesters. It's not hard to organize. And we know the Left has organizational structures in place to collect and manufacture these ballots. Now here's the point is I always talked about when it comes to ballot ballot harvesting is this is it's not hard to I call it manufacturer vote. You can go to a community where people wouldn't be voting. But you can have a bunch of mail ballots in your possession, and you can go door to door and you can get them to fill out

8:20 those ballots, and then you can collect them. And they wouldn't have voted, they wouldn't have done anything. But you've gone to it. So you've kind of ballot harvested those, You've collected those, and then you've put those ballots in the circulation. Is it fraudulent? So maybe not fraudulent, but certainly, certainly, you know, certainly, you know you're pushing the balance here of this stuff. Anyway, let me get back to your real quick about the federalization. I don't believe this is federalizing elections. I believe the Save Act is limited in its capacity. I'm leary of federalizing elections as well too. And I believe that the Constitution holds primacy here. But what everybody always talks about is they lose. They always talk about times, places and manner. But let's read this really quickly. Article one, Section four Times, places and manner of holding elections for Senators and Representatives shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof. But Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations, except as to the places choosing senators. So we see that yes, primarily for the states to hold the state legislatures have the have privacy here. But there is a role for Congress in this.

14:14 Article one, Section four Elections Clause. The times places in manner of holding elections sports senators and representatives senator shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof. But the Congress may at any time, by law make or alter such regulations, except as to the places of choosing senators. So what does that say so, it is there, it is. It is obviously a role for the state legislatures here, but Congress has a role as well. So when we're seeing these situations where you have compromised electoral processes in place, and I think the facts are very clear on this, there is a role for Congress. And let's let's be very clear on this other one. This is enormously popular from a political perspective. Now, sevent one percent of Democrats think that you should have to show identification to vote. Right, seventy one percent of Democrats, not seventy one percent of the population, seventy one percent of Democrats eighty three percent of the population of Americans believe you should so. And those numbers have only gotten stronger than more and more people talk about this exactly absurd that you do not have to show vote some sort of identification to go vote.

15:25 If seventy one percent of Democrats think you should do that, that the United States Senate should act on this yesterday, and it's abhorrent that they haven't taken even a vote on this. Well, and Chuck Schumer brings it back into the race quadrant, you know, claiming, well, these people you know they're being being disenfranchised because they can't all get voter id. Man. I'll tell you they managed to get id when it comes to you know, government subsistence, right. Yeah, is it? So if you want to travel, if you want to drive a car, I mean, we can go on and on about this, if you want to buy and if you want to buy a liquor anyvery this is absurd. This is just a canard that's thrown out by the left.

16:06 And again I go back to a simple fact. My number, it's seventy one percent of your constituency believes in it. Chuck, then you should go and do it. So you're thinking eighty three percent of the American people believe this, seventy one percent of your constituency of Democrats believe in this. That you should show an idea. This is not controversial, this is common, SAIDs things Bill. And this is absurd. The fact that we actually have to even be going through this dance with the left, this is just absurd. And how racist is it for you to think that you're not capable of getting an identification in twenty twenty six in the United States, And that's going to be the reason we compromise the security of our electoral processes. We already know that our election processes are compromised. We've seen it. We saw in twenty twenty the evidence continue to come out, and then in twenty twenty four we see it day in and day out. And yet you don't want to take the most common sense, simple measure and obligate individuals to show identification when they vote.

16:56 It is well, the left, frankly, does not believe in the power the people. They don't believe in the constitution. They don't believe that the people are smart enough to choose their elected officials, so they take it out of their hands and control the outcome. And what this is upsetting them so much, or why this is upsetting them so much, is because it changes the model. They've got this all programmed. This is systemic, it's been baked into the system for decades, and now all of a sudden, you're going to turn it on its head and they don't get a predictable outcome. This is freaking the left out like you cannot believe. But I'll tell you know what this will do in terms of returning efficacy to the election process. It will also put us back on track as a democratic republic and do right for its constituency and maybe minimize some of this influence, you know, this private interest influence and crony capitalism that's been contributing to all the fraud and corruption as well.

18:02 I would like to hope. So I think what happens when you see and if you see states that go to mail mail voting, remove any reasonable protections on the electoral process, They go to uniparty states, they go deep blue, and there essentially is no hope for it. And then what happens when you get and this is what happens when you have a when you have a super majority party control of one state, corruption leaks in invariably when you because you have no check on the power structure, play the best the best check on the power structure is an opposition party to come out and keep you in mind. Now we can you can reverse it. Well that that that in a media that will do their job. And uh, you know, the reason that we supposedly have a free press, as enumerated in our constitution is to protect the integrity of the federal government and the whole process. And when they get into uh and play politics and side with one party over the other.

18:59 Now they become a propaganda machine. And this is why they've lost credibility, and deservedly so, because they have misserved the public interest. Absolutely. I think you see it going back to it is when you can get when you can remove any reasonable protections on the voter system, you can play the system. And that's what's been done in California over and over again. And what happens is invariably you have squeezing out of Republicans if you want, let's take that for an example. You squeeze out the Republicans, the opposition party, you have a union party control, and you have corruption. It happens in Minnesota, it happens in California. Look at what they're uncovering when it comes to the fraud in these states and medicare fraud, medicaid fraud, a social security fraud. It is.

19:45 It's endemic in these one party dominant states. And until you have and again, if you control the systems in place, then you really opposition parties have no opportunities to effectually effectively become elected. And so you're really even though the fact that you know you have this super majorities in California, even though maybe you have thirty five forty percent. We talked about this with congressional appropriate or congressional delegations too. We're squeezing out any kind of representation of Republicans in a state like California. It's happening in Virginia. You might have forty percent of the people be Republican, but they have no effective representation because your congressional delegation is fifty one Democrats to fifty versus one Republican. So you know, and back to your point, Bill is those those individuals lose a voice. But again, for me, it always it begins.

20:31 It begins with the ensuring that reasonable protections are on the electoral systems in place. And this means again going back to it, to the extent you can, at a minimum, you have to have a floor. You have to have voter identification, you have to have citizenship verification. We know non citizens are on these voter roles. You have to have proof of residency, you have to have proof of life, you have to get rid of ballot harvesting. These are just floor things to ensure the integrity of our life. And you've you've got to restrict the number of days. I'm like you, my firm belief. Look at it's a national holiday. We take the day off. Everybody votes, votes are counted, paper ballots. Get those machines. I've been telling everybody, those machines got to be treated. Remember when Disco died, what they did in Chicago. Remember they piled up all the records and where was it Soldiers Field or whatever.

21:21 I can't remember which which field it was. I should look that up because I've mentioned it a couple of times. I don't know. It might have been Wrigley, but anyway, they all piled them up in the center field and they burned all these Disco records, and then Disco died for a while. This is what we had to do with those machines, those voting machines. Put them all, I don't care in the middle of Chavez Ravine Dodger Stadium, I don't care. Just pick one. Just bring them all there. We'll pile them up and burn them, never to be seen ever again. And we'll go back to a hard ballot. One vote and one day restrict it. And then you restrict the potentiality for voter fraud. Right, And what's really important too, is that you restore faith in the system. And this is always one that gets kind of loft in the shovel here is when when you compromise the systems and people lose faith in the integrity of the voter system. What is unique and what is amazing about the United States of America is that, at least now, we still believe, we still cling to the belief that we can effectuate change via ballot box, the peaceful effectuation of change, and we somehow lose faith in the integrity of the system and the fact that oh, there's no point in voting because my vote doesn't matter.

22:32 Then that's not good from a societal stand point, because people believe that they can't peacefully effectuate change via the ballot box, then they're left with scary alternatives that the only way to make any kind of change is through bad thing bad things. So so you know, kind of like what's going on in Minnesota. Let's have a revolution, right, right, Let's just go total anarchy and sedition, And really that's really what you want. Right, So you want to believe, so it's paramount one of the fundamental obligations of our I put this up there, you know, with national defense. One of the paramount obligations is ensuring that people believe. And so many of our friends out there have lost faith in the system, and it's imperative that these institutions, particularly Congress. I keep going back to this because I'm so appalled by the fact that they have yet to do anything on this. Congress needs to take steps to ensure the American people have faith in their electoral system. If we lose this faith, what is the point, right, What is the point in the United States If we don't have faith that we can go in there and we can effectuate change via the ballot box.

23:38 But they're telling us, Mike, they don't care. They don't care. They like it. They like the system the way it is right now, it's fixed. They get very well compensated, not only by the people, but then all these other side hustles they're doing elon Omar ending up with what thirty million dollars in a couple of years. Give me a break, right, right, And this is what we're dealing with. So it's no wonder that people are becoming dis enfranchised and disenchanted with the system. Michael, we got to leave it. 28:18 You know? I don't think the Blue States. They're like an addict that hasn't hit bottom yet and they can't fix what ails them until they really go all the way to the bottom. But in Portland, which is why I'm working on this next book. They are the canary and the coal mine for what's happening to blue cities. Although Mom Donnie comes in there, and I'll tell you Bill, he sure is working hard to put New York City out in front of even Portland in terms of how bad it's gonna get. I cannot believe what this guy is doing, just in the opening days exactly softly. He could have taken it easy, and instead he's made it worse. He's accelerated it. He's now bearing his claws and showing everyone what he really wants.

29:01 Right, well, they do a lot of what he really wants. And it's like you said, it's interesting, you know what's going on here, and you know the people must be just absolutely as you described them, addicts, because what did they expect to happen with Mom Donnie? Look at look at what's going on in Virginia. The same thing with Spamberger. Right, she paraded around as a moderate and she comes in and all of a sudden it's like, oh, I mean, the whole Uni Party pandemic has gone to her head. In Seattle. You know, they're they're out there and there's a gap. I've learned in Oregon, and a lot of people have told me about it. There there's a gap between how the people really feel and they're elected leaders.

29:46 Where in Oregon they've had a super majority Democrat for ten years, they've had mainly Democrat majority for twenty years once they elected the Republican governor was I think nineteen eighty. Two or something like that. And when you have a UNI party and so much domination that you don't need any Republican vote at all. And then the unions, the SEIU, the organ Education Association, Teachers Union asks for me, and they have a grip on state government there like you wouldn't believe. I've been shocked by it. And certainly you have no feedback loop from even your own to try to fix what fails, and instead the only thing that counts is do you keep getting re elected? Yes, and then there's no accountability.

30:32 And this is a place that is failing utterly. But now there's hope, Now there's an uprising. Well we'll see, I mean, who knows, maybe Oregon will be the next Iran? What do you think? I mean? You know, I'm hoping that people will wake up. They just had a big shocker, you know, the government calls a special legislation session. We need to pass this emergency Department of Transportation bill. Otherwise we're not going to be clearing the roads and highways in winter where we're going to have to lay off. Five hundred people. It's an emergency. And they pass that thing, and then suddenly opponents raised not the seventy eight thousand signatures required to challenge it on the ballot, they raised two hundred and fifty thousand signatures.

And yet now they've been. Told legally that no, even if you do that, the voters want to vote on this, and this is coming up and they're going to vote. That'll bring up people who don't usually bother to vote because they hate this tax and they're going to vote for Tina when they're doing that no way, So she's in danger.

I was born and raised in California, and I still have children and grandchildren in California, so I still keep an eye on the craziness that Newsom in the uniparty state of California and how they've destroyed the Golden State there. It's just unbelievable. But you know, here Newsom has been able to dodge a recall of his own and you know, and he just keeps on doing all these goofy things. Meanwhile, he's kind of Mia and he's so interested in running for president that he's abandoning his own state. And what happened to the rebuilding of the Palisades, Oh my god, more than would be accelerating permits letting people rebuild, and instead they just want to put public housing there.

And the one thing that's missing from twenty years ago, I think is an independent watchdog press media showing the failures, and they're not doing that because they're so anti Trump. And you know, there just isn't a recognition there yet in the media and among the leadership that hey, we're in trouble right among the people. They you know, assault conservative journalists and anyone who's an anti protester. I mean, it's awful that they've been allowed to set up camp there and haven't been basically wiped out and told get out of here.

In Oregon was apparently the first state in the nation to go with sanctuary state, and Portland one of the first cities in the country to do. It, and they brought in a lot of illegals. Okay, people upset about the killing of a black thug who died in police custody two thousand miles or something away in this state that's two point five percent black. Oregon is it's one of the whitest states in the country, and it's all these white people protesting the death of this you know, convicted felon who was not a good guy. I mean, it was just bizarre. And then they you know, they burned, you know, dozens of buildings and caused millions and millions of damage and they're still.

No one ever protested and pushedback, not even the freaking Republican Party, because all of the feet at the same trough, some of the money round trips into the campaigns of those very same people who approved it, and only Donald Trump and Elon Musk with DOGE began to raise some of these questions at all, so that a twenty three year old citizen journalist named Nick Shirley could go into Mindeapolis and turn the world upside down just by visiting a few bogus childcare centers and knocking on empty doors that enough to suddenly set fire one hundred million views on x.

According to MRC Dennis, ninety six percent of what the mainstream media is reporting on Trump is purposely I mean, it has to be purposely negative. It's ninety six percent. And here's my worry, Bill, America doesn't know what's really happening in the economy right now. The fact is this is extraordinary what's going on. Twenty twenty six is going to be a great year. It's going to clinch the title of the Roaring twenties.

Understand, our economy is lucky. You go two percent two and a half percent over the last ten to twenty years overall on. Average, I think. And so that's just incredible. You've got three hundred billion plus a year coming in in the terriff yea. And those lately reportsmen saying that's been you know, going into prices being paid by US companies. Well, okay, but the liberal side's complaining that the US companies aren't paying enough tax.

49:13 So they're willing to pay the tax and it's coming in. It will help reduce the annual overspend the deficit. Can't we be happy about that? Usually you'd be happy for that, but they just aren't telling the story. Now. One good thing is gas I just drove six seven states down from New York City down to South Florida, and gas was down at two point fifty two forty two thirty two dollars. And eleven cents a gallon on the way down. It's a three point fifty here. But you know, that is a pulse point that people feel instantly, and that money is instantly freed up because you have to spend on gas to get to work, and so it instantly frees up money to do better things and more fun things with Okay, eggs. Prices have dropped really sharply. Okay, that's good.

49:54 The overall problem, though, is prices don't usually go back down after they go up. Their rate of rise from there might go down. That's what's happening. Was going at nine percent in a peak under Biden announced you know, two point three percent. But it's on top of this high high price and so you know, the only way of a real deflation is when you know, an economic collapse, and it would be nice to go avoid that if we could, right, But look stock markets in your all time highs. The deficits down. The trade deficits how much more we buy from from other countries versus them buying for us is way down. I mean, good things are happening on a big high level and on a micro level. These new Trump accounts.

Well, then there's some other big companies. Yeah, what he said, We're gonna do that. So it spreads and it is the entire conversation from well, the kids just aren't going to have as much of a future now. Nobody's saving, they're destroying, you know, blah blah blah. Only twenty five percent of Americans believe that my kids can have a better life than I have. That is bull Instead build and it changes the conversation to building wealth and compounding of interest and the stock market. Right now, I think it's thirty eight percent of the country is not in the stock market at all.

And the thing is is that maybe we can get beyond the perception and get to reality, because no matter what, you're going to have the naysayers and the people who are pessimistic about everything. So you know, they continue to stay in there, uh right, and they're fixed, you know there, they're fixed. But you know, God bless them, you know. But for the rest of us, Dennis, that advice to see, we're going to celebrate the golden age of America and we're going to be able to tell our grandchildren we were here when it all began.

Bill Martinez here just about six minutes after the top of the hour, and we have Mike Palad from ATR Americans for Tax Reforms, tax polishing the record. Hey, good morning, Michael. How are you. Good morning, Bill doing well. Good to be with you. Hey, great to have you here to talk about mutual funds. About a third of the country are engaged with mutual funds. Right, that's a good thing. Yeah, exactly right. And we've seen we have about sixty percent of Americans are invested in the stock market in some way. We have a large percentage of that invest in mutual funds for either their retirement plans or life savings, whatever their financial goals are. We have millions of Americans and financial in mutual funds here, invested in the market. And when companies are going up, when valuation and stocks are increasing, their life savings are increasing.

57:26 Right, it's good to see that. Number continuing to increase here. It's become increasingly a policy focus for pro growth policy here in Washington. Right. And the thing is, which is always the problem, because it seems that those on the left, when they see Americans making money and they look and see in their retirement accounts the kind of money that's there, they get greedy and they find ways to try to clause some of that money back to their side of the ledger. Isn't that what's been going on for a while. Yeah, I thought the Treasury Secretary of Scott Best in Trump's train Free Secretary, he had a free way of framing this where he made the comparison of I don't think it's a coincidence that we have sixty one percent of Americans invested in the stock market, and for those who are not, we have about thirty nine percent approval rating for socialism in this country. Right, You're gonna have inverse numbers where you have people who are not invested in the market. I think are far more open to the left's message because they don't see it personally impacting them, even though it does. Even if they're not invested in the market.

58:24 Right, But the shenanigans that's been going on on Capitol Hill though with that money. My point is is that you get those on the left that want that money. They see that money there, and they somehow think that they need to get their fingers on it, just like they did with Social Security and any other asset that they haven't earned that the taxpayer has rightfully earned and is justified. And so then they come up with, you know, shenanigans and policies and regulations in which to make things difficult. So you know, as you've been reporting for years, mutual fundholders have gotten an unpleasant tax surprise, right, let's call it that. Yeah, And we should remember, of course, Democrats exist to take your money and redistribute to their voters, to their constituents, to the party of government, the party of big special interest.

59:10 That's fundamentally what they exist to do. And the unfair treatment that mutual funds are hit with is essentially unfair capital gains treatment. The basic principle should be that you pay taxes when you sell your share at the mutual fund. But because these mutual funds are making trades quite often sometimes daily weekly, they are taxed at the point within the stocks are being sold, not the actual share of the mutual fund itself. So the holder of the mutual fund is always dealing with a cap gains tax. This is something that limits growth, that limits savings investment. We should get away entirely with the capital gains tax if we can, but while we still have it, mutual funds should be tax fairly like everyone else. Right, and then what about the inflation index that comes into play there too, Right.

59:54 Yeah, exactly what we have here, this is beyond just stocks, is for anyone who owns a home, any property. Right now, you pay taxes on the inflationary aspect of the game, the part that comes from government spending too much money devaluing your currency. Right now, you still pay taxes on that. When we pay capital gains taxes, we should take account for inflation so that you are not paying taxes on this. This is something that the Trump administration considered back in twenty nineteen, and I think got derailed because of COVID. You're starting to see more chatter on this as something the president could do. That's program that would have specific impacts on the housing market. If you think about the complaints about oh well we don't have enough supply on the market. We don't have older Americans moving out of their home and downsizing well scause they have a simple problem that they have to deal with, which is why would they sell their house get less? Feel like they get less for it because they get locked into a higher interest rate and they have to pay the capital gains tax on the house that they're selling. We need to remove that government penalty on selling your home. And it's keeping with the princip we already have is we do have an increased exemption for capital gain on home sales, but we should not be paying any tax on the inflationary aspect of that game. That is fake savings that comes from the government creating inflation. That is something we can do. I think they would both increase housing, increased growth overall, and something that's excitingly the Trump administration can do by executive action.

1:01:17 They don't need Congress to do this. It's something that Americans for tax reform, we're encouraging the president to look at. This is something that Senator Tad Cruz has been a leader on for legislation, and we expect to see some action here potentially soon. Well, you know, you brought up something earlier, and I want to reemphasize that if we can with our audience, because this is something that we keep bringing to the forefront all the time, is that when politicians get involved, they become the middlemen, and when that money goes out, they get their vig they're going to get their piece of the action. You wonder how these politicians go in and they're barely able to find a couple of dimes to rub together, and then in a matter of a short period of time, two to four years, they're worth millions of dollars. Like elon Omar I mean here or she is you know now supposedly worth thirty million dollars.

1:02:09 How did that happen on a salary of one hundred and seventy thousand dollars a year. Well, they're finding ways to get their percentage off all these government programs at taxpayer expense, and they're shaving, they're getting they're big, they're shaving their cut and then it goes in and as if that's not bad enough, Hey, I got to take care of these people who get me reelected. Right Except, and we talked, you can stay within the same state. You can look at the Somali fraud we've seen in Minnesota. As soon as that story broke, our first thought of the Marristax form was, well, I wonder how many of these fake daycare facilities are making contributions to the Democratic Party in Minnesota. And then lo and behold. I think within a day of that, you had a story about fifty thousand dollars coming from one of these fake daycare set up to go to state level Democrats.

1:02:54 It's just it's the old kickback system. And look at it. It starts from small at the state level Minnesota, it grows to something like the Somali fraud. You can look at something as big as Obamacare, where you look at you have these as your insurance companies entirely dependent on getting subsidies within Obamacare, which means they're reliant on Democrats being in office, which means they make political contributions to Democrats. That's how Democrats set up the system. It's an a for play system in which if you want to stay in business, you have to be contributing to us. You have to be making sure Democrats get elected. Exactly when we look at some of the key areas where the Trump administration has been doing deregulation, we're talking about the cost of living right now. I think look at his ending of the Biden electric vehicle mandate for yeah, right, see thousands of dollars off the sticker price of cars. And if you're bringing down the cost of new cars, you're also helping the used car market. These were cars that, as we were saying before, the market doesn't tend one at least not at the degree of which Democrats are subsidizing. Where it was seventy five hundred dollars in taxpayer funded refundable credits for every electric vehicle purchased in this country.

You know, what car works for you and your family. That's the administration of the Trump. The government offers subsidies to seventy five hundred dollars, and what do the sellers of these electric vehicles do. They up the price, the sticker price, by six grand. They're not about to let you know, the consumer, the tax payer get the full amount of that seventy five hundred dollars.

They love it. And the Democrats are good at doing this. They've got it down to a science and it's very well constructed. And meanwhile the voter doesn't know better, and they just because they've been dumbed down to such a degree and they're basically participating in this ruse on themselves.

And now it's TDS and so everything anything that Trump says, even though it's an eighty twenty issue.

I remember under COVID, the FED brought interest rates down to zero for about three years, which I guess it kept the economy going, but that was the fuel that then caused inflation, which took off after COVID kind of ended.

At the most recent meeting it was ten to two vote to keep it straight the same, So and that's probably gonna I think they're going to keep it straight the same until Worsh takes over in May. Sometimes, so he's got to convince a lot of the board to kind of frustrates further. You know, it's like you've got how many you got to convince? Five members?

It's Federserve is run by consensus, and the most I think we've ever had is three centing votes of the twelfth and that happened in December because. And they got a terrible track record, and particularly in the last year under the leadership of Powell. Right, I mean, Okay, so now you're stubbornly against doing this. Everybody else in the world has cut rates, and here America, you know, we're trying. You know, Donald Trump seems to be trying to pull a rabbit out his hat every other day, and the fat is not helping. And it just seems to be that this is politicized. There's just too much emotion on this. I mean, it's almost like you want to go to Powell and the rest of them, say, hey, aren't you on team America here?

I mean, there are some signs about inflation. For example, tariffs. Now tariffs raise the price of goods. Now that may be undercut. We know that the sub Supreme Court has decided the tariff case. They had hearings in November. Now here we are in February. Now we know they've got a decision, they just haven't released it yet, and we're not. Quite sure why they haven't. I think maybe there's too worried about the impact of that on the markets and the economy, because if they take away Trump's main tool, the tariffs to impose his economic policy around the world, it's going to leaves a huge voight.

Yeah, maybe in Partscotus might be waiting to say, well, do you think Congress might get off their hands and do something about it? I mean, because they could you pass a bill and empower the president to do this, and it makes it a moot issue. Right absolutely. In the Constitution it says Congress has the power to regulate Congress from tariffs. So if they give that power to the Trump, that's fine. That's not what's been done. The law that Trump has been relying on, the nineteen seventy seven American Emergency Economic Act. It's a national security deal, right exactly. They can do sanctions on economic emergencies that says nothing about tariffs whatsoever. So yes, Congress could patch such a law, which would make it easier. But Congress is not going to pass a law like that with the margins as narrow as they are. Frankly, I don't think iris should give up a power as big as that. I mean, Congress should be involved in major decisions, economic decisions.

I mean, I think Congress could subordinate this on a conditional basis and still maintain control. But just say, hey, look at for you know, this period of time or for these particular reasons, you know, specifically, which is hard for Congress to do because they don't know how to write any law with specific specificity, right because they love having that gray area that their regulators can have all kinds of fun with, and they exercise their power right exactly.

The other thing is we got the midterms coming up, and there's danger Will Robinson in the midterms here and especially the way these votes are going. And I mean Johnson, I mean, you talk about pulling a rabbit out of your head. Mike Johnson is just like you got to give this guy a cape and you know, a wand or something. I mean, they.

They're the ones that are in the theater yelling fire and you know, and here it is, they invigorate a young woman to go and run her car into an ICE agent. She gets shot dead. Yeah, another knucklehead with a gun fifty rounds of ammunition, you know, going to a protest and engaging you know, Ice, and they have guns.

Yeah, no, without a doubt. I mean they're already trying to do everything they can, even with this DHS fight to unwind the Big Beautiful Bill. The Big Beautiful Bill is just keeping them up at night. It is driving them nuts. But look at all the good things that's doing.

Of course, that was back in the seventies, early seventies, right, and then since then it was like with each decade I knew less and less of what was going on. And of course this one was no exception. I mean, there were very few people even in the audience that I could recognize. I just go, you know, I'm going to who the heck is this? But thank God for jelly Roll.

And in some ways that attracted attention because he also said, you know, Jesus isn't about which political party you're a part of, which some people felt like a great thing to say. And I actually even seeing pictures of him, it's shocking how much weight he's lost. Oh yeah, I don't know how much it is, but it's gotta have been hundreds of pounds, right, And so, I mean, it's just it's a great story about a guy who had a rough go, was in prison. You know, he's got tats all over his face, and now he's he's a country music sensation. And I reviewed his last album, and you know what, at first I thought he was a joke. I mean, here's this at that time, really overweight guy named jelly Roll. It just felt self deprecating, right right, But he can really sing. He's a good songwriter, or he at least works with good songwriters. It's hard to know sometimes in Nashville. And he absolutely is one hundred percent all in on Jesus, and that's great to see.

1:41:01 Yeah, it's quite the redemptive story, and it's something that no matter what, the cancel culture cannot take away from him. And he made that clear. And the thing is is that, of course everybody wants to look at things through the lens of politics, but also by the same token, more and more people are turned off by it because it's it's man made and and let's face it, you know, what did Jesus do the last time with the political class, right right? Well, he you know, he was critical of them, and in some ways he wasn't all that concerned about it. You know, he said, render under Caesar what is Caesar's And render under God unto God, what is God's. And he knew that he was going to an unjust end at the hands of the religious and political authorities, but you know, he trusted in God's sovereignty. And let me also say this is a little bit of a sideways leap fusing politics and religion. But I think it's worth mentioning.

1:42:03 I have been shocked and quite remarkably amazed at this Nicki Minaj story as it has continued to, you know, kind of unwind as she has become I would say, a very unexpected advocate for Christians in Nigeria, and obviously she's done stuff with Donald Trump as well. But I you know, it just goes to show you never know what people's trajectories are going to be. Because a few years ago I would have categorized her as among the worst of the worst. And I don't think she's renounced some of her really racy stuff from her earlier career, but she again seems to be advocating for Christians as well, And you just never know what's going to happen with somebody's story. And I think that's an example of that.

And going back to what you said earlier, you know, Jesus unders that some people were going to have ears to hear yep, and they were going to be transformed, and others were going to ignore it and not and so that's why, you know, so what do you fuss about. And this is the interesting time in which we're in right now, is that we don't need to fight every battle, but we need to be discerning to know which battles we are to fight and where where to be the agency of good and an agent of the Kingdom of God to come right. No, that's exactly right, And I think it's interesting. We could take a parable like the wheat and the tears right, you know, the story of the good the good seed and the weeds growing up together. And I can look at the Grammys and say, well, I kind of see some.

1:43:48 Of both of those without a doubt. But the story is not written completely. You know, I don't know what the outcome of some of these people is going to be. And it's not my place to stand in judgment upon where they're at spiritually. But even if I'm not called to condemn people, Jesus often also said in John four, stop judging by mere parances and make a right judgment. You know, we often hear people say Jesus said, well, judge not lest you be judged, And the context of that is it's not my place to decide whether somebody is in right relationship with God. Eternally or not. You know, I don't get to condemn them, but I can make judgments based on the fruit that we see in the moment, and I think instead of getting just disgusted with popular culture, I try to just say a prayer.

But but just you know, I was thinking about Brad Pitt the other day because I live in Carmel, and I don't know that he lives here year round, but he has a house here. He's one of the famous residents. In town, and and invited you over for No. No, I haven't been over yet. Maybe the Super Bowl game. But I just shot a charcuteri board. Or something exactly, you know, some really really expensive cheese and wine. No, but I just shot up a prayer for him, because I know he grew up in a very Christian home and then rejected that. And so so many of these celebrities either have had exposure to the Christian message or they're just sort of, you know, vehemently rejecting it. And their story's not done yet. God's still at work in their lives.

Well, going back to the Grammys, you know when jelly Roll came out so emphatically for Jesus, I got to imagine to your point that some were probably squirming in their seat having to take a moment of self evaluation. I mean, you don't have to judge, you know, their own conscience will judge themselves, even in that environment, which if you and I didn't see everything there, I just got glimpses of it, and some of the comments was that the environment was very demonic. Yeah, well, I mean we had chaperone wearing a gown that well it wasn't even really a gown. It's like she put half of it on and the other half didn't show up. And I actually have tried to stay away from the pictures of it because it's it makes Jennifer Lopez look modest. And you know, you've got Billie Eilish up there pontificating about stolen land when her three and a half million dollar house is sitting on Native American traditional property. You know, it's the whole range of perspectives of ideas, and certainly award shows tend to be self congratulatory, right, you know, they are in love with themselves.

So, Solo Mio is a new Angel Studios movie starring Kevin James, and I must say he looks pretty good as a bald man, you know. I gotta represent from my fellow middle aged perhaps a little bit a few pounds heavier than we should be bald guys out there. So he plays a guy named Matt who has been meticulously planning his dream wedding in Italy in Rome, and wouldn't you know it, his wife to be doesn't show up at the altar. She leaves him a note and gives the ring back and says, I hope someday you can forgive me. So he's obviously devastated, and after he gets done trying to text her into reconsidering, he realizes it's more than just a case of matrimonial cold feet.

1:47:48 It's not going to happen, and somebody at the hotel he's at says, well, you should just enjoy your time in Rome anyway, And obviously that would not make a movie. So he meets a one and named Gea, and they have kind of just a quiet, slowly blossoming love story. And this is a movie that wouldn't have been out of place in the nineteen fifties or sixties. There's some drinking, we see some people get drunk. That's probably the biggest content issue, but one or two really mild profanities, and just really nice, innocent, fun movie, the kind that we say we want. And I've said this many times before, go see it. You know, this is the kind of movie we say we want more of. But if we don't vote with our dollars, it doesn't send the message to Hollywood. So this one's worth seeing for that reason.

This this is a movie about human trafficking. It's not based on one true story, but sort of an amalgamation of human trafficking stories about a woman named Hope who was abducted and trafficked for several years, and her path toward being able to forgive those who did horrible things to her. So this is not an easy movie to watch. I probably wouldn't watch it with you know kid. Well, I certainly wouldn't watch it with kids, but I think even you know teenagers, I would want to be make sure they were fairly mature before.

But these sorts of movies really shine a spotlight on a horrible issue in our culture. And it's a hard one to look at, but I think it forces us to grapple with it. So uplifting but difficult. Right, Yeah, I think for so long we turned our eyes away from it. And this is why it's where it is right now, because it's been allowed to pro create itself and evolve. And you know how many more kids have to be abducted and murdered, children committing suicide involved with human trafficking. Yes, there's no good thing that comes out of human trafficking.
