Hey, Bill, it's great to be with me the thanks. Hey. Lots to catch up on one of the big issues that I think people are confused about because the left has been, you know, writing their own story and that's regarding this you know, Trump agreement to choose transparency over a payout, and the left, you know, you just see gray matter from their brains just splattering all over the TV screen. Huh.

0:50 You're talking about the settlement, YEA fond of about one point I. Guess seven seventy six, you know, one point seven. I love it. Yeah, Yeah, you know it's interesting. There's all sorts of compensation funds that the government has instituted for people for lack of a better term, if. They've been screwed with. Yes, that's a technical term. But you know, the Black farmers had a huge multimillion dollar settlement fund created by the Agriculture Department because in fact they had been mistreated or unfairly treated and they had a legitimate claim. And so the government does this all the time. Our good friend Katherine Herridge, who's now an independent journalist, which's previously had been with CBS and Fox News.

1:37 Catherine went through and did. A detailed, point by point example of other instances in history where settlement funds had been created by the government and large payouts have been made because people were able to identify and explain how they had been either shortchanged or victimized by government policy. And so this is no different than a half dozen other funds like it for people who want to bring a claim and say, look, I was mistreated, I did not have an even break, and I'll want to bring a claim. So there's no problem with it. Yeah. The thing the problem I have with it, Chris, is that we the people are paying it. That's right, it's from our taxes. It's not coming out of their salaries.

2:20 Nobody's paying a price, you know, for their egregious sas I mean, because some of this stuff, look at some of it, you can give them the benefit the down, say, okay, I can see how this mean. But I mean this is nothing short of weaponization and purposeful. That's exactly what it is. I mean, look, this is the trade or one. Of the techniques of how business is done in Washington, DC. And that is the punishment is the process. So all they have to do is announce that you're under investigation or that you're being liked at for whatever, and that means you have to go out and to get an attorney. How many tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars? Is that right? Yes, And they grind you up with.

3:00 Legal processes and you know they'll they'll stick the irs on you. There's all sorts of ways in which the government could grind you up and torture you. And at some point they just they drop the case, they say okay, never mind, they walk away, and you're still stuck with you know, four hundred thousand dollars in legal bills. Well if you're lucky, right right, And so that's. That's what's trying to be explained here. Or you know, they phony stuff up. They launch your search warrant on your home and your property, and they go through all your computers and your cell phones. They tear up your house and then they say, okay, well never mind and they walk away. Well, I mean that's crazy, that's punishment, that's torture.

3:42 Right exactly. Well, and the other thing I'd like to see happen, Chris, is that there'd be some sense of due process on this, that this needs to be resolved. When something comes up like this, it needs to be resolved in an expeditionary expeditions sort of way, not something that's taking six ten years to resolve. Because you know, as you just as you said, with the power of the government. You know, they're not paying legal fees like you are. It's not a fair fight. They're dragging out. They're going to beat you up by attrition, you know, just just as you pointed out. So, getting back to this situation, here's Trump. He gets an award because it all started with his tax returns, right, right. They unlawfully leaked the details of his tax returns. Again, that's a political smear job, right, They're trying to make them look like he's a crook or a fraud or you know some negative you know, desire to smear the guy, and so they unlawfully leaked.

4:38 Details concerning his tax returns. I mean, it's a racket. It's a government racket to destroy the guy. They did everything under the sun. They tried to jail them, tried to assassinate them, you know, tried to break him, tried to attack his family. And this is just one more instance. It's incredible. I mean, you talk about the books they're going to be written down the road, Chris, about all the the government's weaponized to attack one single figure like Donald Trump. I mean, what a threat that he must represent to the establishment, that the deep state at all would go after him like this. Right, that's exactly right, which is I think also why he sort of revels in making you know, certainly he has no lack of ego, right, So yeah, when he makes sort of outrageous claims or when he you know, offers, he floats out kind of trial balloon ideas about doing things in part he does it just to torture them back, right, Oh, no doubt, that's been crazy. And so when he says, you know what, there should be a two hundred and fifty dollars bill, and I should be honest, you know, whether it ever happens or not, isn't the point well, it is funny. I think this is really this goes to show you the derangement syndrome. You know, their lawsuit was brought to against Trump over the renaming or the additional naming of the Kennedy Center right right, and so of all things. The illustrious US District Court Judge Christopher Cooper here in DC, who was appointed by Barack Obama.

6:10 He issues an order that says, you know, within forty eight hours, Trump's name must be taken off the building. Right. I mean, you gotta think about this. You have a federal judge issuing forty eight hour edicts to remove someone's name from a building. We have nothing else to worry about, right, There's no other problems for a federal judge to worry about, them removing Trump's name from a building. And this, this shows you the vendetta, right right exactly. So then we have to take away you know, somebody's in the legal staff instead of them doing some other business. Now they got to go and respond. To this crazy edict right right right.

6:52 And this isn't something that's going to be done in forty eight hours either. No, I mean, and no trial, right, no, no discovery, no pleadings just the unilateral decision of a government lawyer wearing a black robe, right, who's a political hack. He gets to decide the fate of humanity based on an accident of political favoritism, meaning a guy who gets supported as a federal judge, Chris. Is there any way to stop this or we just have to wait until all these judges punch themselves out and they finally realize nuts enough because you know, the Supreme Court has chimed in a little bit, but not enough.

7:34 In my humble opinion, number one, number two, Congress needs to step up and start you know, affecting you know, some judicial removement. You know, let's impeach these guys. Yeah, well, you know, Jim Jordan, call your office, right. The chairman of the Judicial Judiciary Committee of the House is a wall. I mean he's good at kind of blustering for a moment or two and a couple of snappy soundbites, but the level follow through is, you know, less than zero. This is part of the charade, the farce that or the illusion I guess that we have some you know, equal justice under the law for everyone.

8:14 It's a farce. The legal system is horribly broken, and it's very one sided that people talking about a two tier justice system. There's really about a three or four tier justice system out there. And the average person, this is why they don't trust the government. They don't trust the courts, they don't trust the FBI, because they see it's a game, right, it's all just whose side and who gets to control the Xbox? You know, it's like ten year old's fire right over a video game, and it's it's exhausting. Unfortunately, Well, without a doubt, and the people who believe in the constitution that you know says right there, there's a government of four by we the people. Well, you know, we the people didn't vote for this.

8:58 No, no, no, And again a lot of the I mean, this is the danger of generalization. So I'll issue my own warning or disclaimer on this. Tan well ta, well, let's do it on the other side. 13:57 Were just talking about the judicia making a very dangerous generalization, but it's good for conversational purposes. Look, they're really high end attorneys, the superstars. They're very busy making money, thank you very much, and they're not terribly interested in sitting on a bench and hearing cases because you know, in an afternoon they can make, you know, more money than a judge gets paid. In a month. Right, So the high end guys, the real legal brains, are busy making money. They're really horrible ones are busy selling their services to the public and couldn't get appointed.

14:38 But there's a sort of a mediocrity. Right, pational mediocrity. They're not terrible, they're not stupid, but frankly, they're not terribly bright, and they know where their bread is buttered. And they're sort of partisan political uh, you know, they're amenable, right, they're willing to go along and so very often, not always, but very often that becomes kind of the rank and file of the judiciary because they're not smart enough to make the really big bucks, and they're not you know, they're not dummies. They're somewhere in the middle. And unfortunately, you know, they owe their their seat on the bench to some politician who's a pointed them and put them through the system. So it's very frustrating, it's very disappointing.

15:26 Yeah, the dynamic of quid pro quote continues, right, Nancy Pelosi, Yeah, no doubt. Well, again, getting back to the seventh one billion was seventeen seventy six billion, not all total one point seven seven six billion that Donald Trump was awarded. He doesn't take it for himself, Okay, I mean, he's he's a guy, he's President of the United States, chief executive officer, commander in chief. He's not taken any money from the people. He's given that money away. So in this case too, he sets this aside and says, okay, we're going to make people whole who have been abused, who've been weaponized, have been the subjects of weaponization of the government. Right, And so the big thing that comes to light is January.

16:11 Sixth, exactly. I mean, I can give you one example a couple retired in their early seventies who they have a small sort of ranch, yet outside of San Antonio. They were here on January sixth. The wife actually has a hip that had just been operated on, so she wasn't feeling too great. They went back to the hotel. They didn't even go near the Capitol. They went to the over by the White House. And then when people started moving towards the Capitol, she wasn't feeling too great. She wanted to go back to the hotel and lay down and rest her hip, and they did. And they even had a card swipe at an ATM showing that there weren't anywhere near the Capitol. But somebody said that the husband looked like a guy who might have been in the picture, because you know, there were crowdsourcing a lot of these photos.

16:53 Right right. And so the FBI joined Terrorism Task Force show blows through the gate of their ranch. It's a small, little five acre like ranchatt out in Texas. They blow through the gate, they. Flash bang the house. They dragged them out there underwear, only to be told whoops, never mind. So I mean where do they go? I mean, what are they going to do? How are they made whole for really a horrific, abusive discretion. There's no reason to go after him the way they did. And they kept pointing at the picture, telling the guy this is you, this is you. He goes, you know, is it a white guy in his seventies with gray hair?

17:33 Yeah? Well, Bill, you know, I mean how many hundreds of thousands of people could that anyway? You get the point? Yeah, right, It's just it's craziness. And you know, they should have a right to come back and say, no, make me whole, fix the gate on my farm, right. Yeah, exactly, at least at least do that, and maybe buy some underwear for me. Too, Just say exactly, yeah, exactly. What about Ashley Babbitt? Right there, you have a case where Bird, the police officer, promoted, of course from lieutenant to captain and given a medal, he shoots her dead, totally unjustified shooting. And thankfully we were able to represent Ashley Babbitt's family the estate and get a settlement for her for the family because a police officer was just trigger happy, frankly, and he had a horrible track record professionally with it. When it came to handling a firearms, he left a loaded weapon in the visitor's bathroom Capital Visitor Center bathroom. I mean, you know what kind of a moron he shouldn't be trusted with a weapon, right.

18:43 Yeah, But the Left made him into a hero. Yeah. I mean, this is the case where there are some fundamental disagreements on who and what we are as a country and what the authority and scope of government and police powers are. And it is it is a fundamental difference. Uh. You know, I I saw yesterday driving around running some errands, a guy with a big sign on the side of his car no secret Police, and the ICE and police was highlighted, meaning, you know, ICE doing enforcement rates? What the hell is secret about ICE? Right exactly? I mean, if you're an illegal alien, you're probably not too happy about ICE doing enforcement. But other than that, who is supposedly being subjected to secret police activities?

19:33 Answer? No one, right, But there's this narrative, there's this mindset, you know, they. Were thrilled with. You know, in Fairfax County, Virginia, not far from where I'm sitting right now, it's something like eighty five percent of the murders. The homicides in Fairfax County are performed by illegal aliens, you know. The DA and a guy named Discano testified before Congress about two weeks back. It is worth your while to watch this. Guy's testimony about how he deliberately and willfully refuses to abide by any kind of ice detainer, how he turns people loose out of the jails. He turned one guy loose and within forty eight hours the guy killed two people.

20:18 I mean, this is the kind of revolving door justice. And he's a Soros DA, yes exactly. He got elected on Soros money, right, And look, this is, like I said, there's very different mindsets as to what you know, kind of truth justice in the American way is all about. And some people favor, you know, this Bolshevik approach to things, and others have a much more traditional American point of view that you and I share. Yeah, exactly. Judicial Watch continues to be vigilant about voter integrity and good news. I guess coming out of California, you know, on the eve of an important mayoral election that's coming up there, you've cleaned up. I think initially, when you and I talked in the state of California was three million. I didn't realize just in La County alone it was almost probably almost one and a half million.

21:15 Right, yep, yep, yep, that is exactly correct. And we've done this from state to state around the country. Right now, our grand total is above six million dirty voting roles, people that are on the voting rolls who are either moved away, or they're dead, or they're felons, or there's some other sort of disqualifying reason. And the obligation at the this is normally at the county level, although the state has an obligation to oversee it. But these county. Voting registrars or secretaries, so they should enroll everybody who's eligible. But on the other hand, they should double check the list to make sure it's accurate.

21:56 Exactly Well, they usually. Get very busy enrolling everyone, and they're not usually too good double checking the list to make sure it's accurate and complete. And so we've gone to them and said, look, you need to double check New York City. This is last year. It's very funny New York City with eight million people. They came back and said to us, well, We've checked our voting roles and we removed five people. Okay, so that's unreasonable, right, that's a ridiculous number to scrub the voting roles. Right, it's got to be hundreds of thousands of people moved dead whatever. I mean, Well, you know twenty percent of the people routinely. Just check with the mail office. They'll tell you twenty percent of America moves every year at least.

22:40 Right. So I mean, now, does it take work? Of course it does, you know, is it easy? No? But that's part of the problem. That's the obligation that the registrars and the secretaries of election at various county governments. That's what they're supposed to be doing making because if you don't do that, right, if you have children and forty percent more people registered to vote that even live in the locality, you're asking for gamesmanship, exactly for corruption shenanigans. I don't want to use the F word and say fraud because that has a very specific legal meaning. But there are other fun and games that you can do to manipulate the numbers and the outcome. And so if the voting roles are inaccurate, how the hell they would you ever know who was actually supposed to show up and vote?

29:56 We go overboard. And there are criticisms to made of this administration in that regard, as there were of the ones before it. But the most interesting stuff that I was listening to was on AI mm hmm and the continued movement away from the divine image of God being found in mankind and destroying it and creating our own machine. It's almost like a God, and so that was really interesting. A guy named abduh Murray, who was raised Muslim and accepted Christ. Oh, I got a granddaughter interrupting ourselves.

Yeah I can't say, Grandpa, come play with me. But it's fooling us. And abdu Murray, who is now a believer and who's committed to truth. His ministry is called Embrace Truth. He gave a very articulate, balanced talk about AI is not evil. Human use of technology will tend to go evil if it leaves God out of the equation and it doesn't use biblical principles of discernment. And what's happening today is the power of AI is being worshiped by some in the scientific world. I think it can make us move past and beyond humanity, which is dehumanizing us.

And then some of the people at the grassroots who are lonely and are having trouble with relationships, maybe because their mom or dad didn't love them well and they don't know how to get along and make a friend. They're crafting their own AI chatbot that relates to them exactly the way they want. It never makes a demand, it never disagrees, there's no friction, and people have companions romantic partners. And one of the concerns was for a lot of the now thirteen year old and youngers, their very first romantic relationship will be with an AI generated fake entity, and it will pull us away from the God who made us to connect soul to soul. Right, So I'd pray that we parents and teachers and adults would wake children up to the risk of letting AI A strong tool end up creating an imitation, a counterfeit relationship.

32:47 The first human relationship is friendship. Built upon that comes the second, but the most you know, a prolific relationship marriage and mothering and fathering and brother and sister, and the Christian relationship of you and me as two brothers to one another right in the body of Christ. But it all comes down to the principle of subsidiarity. Human friendship is the most important thing we need to recultivate, and men are missing it and we're lonely and more depressed. Young women are stuck comparing themselves on Internet, body image and all the rest of it instead of true friendship.

33:27 So we got to use AI as a tool. But if we let it replace our thinking and replace our relationships, it's going to shrink humanity and crush our souls. Well, it starts, you know, with the fundamentals, Jeff, I mean our current system right now, as you heard during this event that you went to at the Coolsten Center, is that. I mean, you know, we had a problem here in River City, and it's foundational, the foundational tenants. This is why we've been saying you and I've been saying this for year. Now, You've got to go go back to the beginning. In the beginning, what was God in that? What was his design? What is the legitimate versus the illegitimate. What's happened, just to your exact point is we've allowed human conscious human values to supplant God's values, and so everything's compromised, everything's corrupt. You know, I would be curious. I mean, Chuck Holsum was alive today, you know, to have a conversation with him, because he was there, He was in the beast, he was in the inner circle of the beast. Could he not see at that time because it was already evident that the corruption on our republic was already there and beginning to thrive. He fell victim, and he came out of it, you know, with a particular view and understanding. But here we are today, fast forward, many decades after him and since his passing, we're saying, whoa, you know, we have lots of problems here in our government. So our foundation is rocky. So

35:00 whatever you bring in AI or some other great innovation, space travel, all that that's on the horizon for us. If the foundation is corrupt, how are we going to be able to handle this in a way that exalts God. Yeah, I think let's clarify for our listeners. When you speak of foundational things, and you said in the beginning, God, we're talking about the core principal truths and the paradigms and the ethical standards that we anchor ourselves to under the reign of God, Amen versus. The reign of humans America was very unique, imperfect, but so advanced by taking the Jewish systems from Moses and the law and the priests and the respect for women and the individual. Okay, and then Martin Luther came along, and even though the Catholic Church carried us the faith of Jesus, the corruption of power had stopped the people from seeing the Bible.

36:15 And Martin Luther said, people are all equal, and that today has led to a pope, for example, who's one of the people who's more humble. I'm not saying he's a perfect man, but he's more humble than the popes we had of the thirteenth century in the fourteenth century, that that corruption led to the Reformation, and that our form of government. It took the real or the realization that humanity is flawed and we need checks and balances, and we can only be a good nation under God. We can only have a liberty and freedom under God. We need people of moral faith, as our founding fathers said. Right, so today when we face the drift toward authoritarianism and power based leadership, be it in a corporation or on a sports team, or in a government, or internet marriage, as we see our marriage. Yeah, yeah, because I mean we have taken sometimes the headship teaching and turned it into dominance teaching. Headship is responsibility. Jesus is the greatest head ever and he laid down his life for us.

37:24 His bride. You know, a good husband who is a good head is saying, I'm taking responsibility for my family. But I'll die on the sword to keep unity with my wife. I'll die on the sword to make sure that we stick with God. So the foundational principles you're talking about are number one, God is God and we're not. Number two, we're sinners and we need a savior. Number three, we need God's guidance, which comes in the Mosaic ten Commandments and everything Jesus has taught which agreed with it. He simplified it down to love your Lord your God first, foremost, and more than everything else, rationally dominantly the center of your life. That's what he really meant. And then you'll love others as you love yourself. Take care of yourself, don't abuse yourself, don't get hooked on drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, computers, social media. Take care of your soul, okay, but then take care of other people in similar ways. So the foundational principles. If we use AI, it's got to be under God.

And right now many people are using AI to replace human relationships by creating their own little virtual avatar that says everything and does everything and looks exactly what it wants to. 44:17 It's interesting that that would be the title. I had several conversations in the last couple of years with various syndicators and Christian radio companies, and it's amazing. It's like they've gotten caught, in my humble opinion, they've gotten caught in the in the cultural perspective of it. And you know, I'm an old radio guy. I've been around radio for over fifty years, as you know, and so you know, it's always been alive and well to me. I think it has to do with perspective. Like I said, I've gotten in some heated conversations with it. But because I'm surprised that some of these, you know, some of these national commpanies are willing to, you know, in the name of podcast and social media, are willing to devalue their radio properties. I'm saying you and I may be out of stand by the exit and offer them five cents of the dollar and we'll collect a lot of radio stations along the way.

45:16 What do you think, Yeah, well, there is this. I appreciated the clickbait headline you gave for our conversation. Is Christian radio dead? The answer is no, it's not. It's alive and well, and it's really permeated all of the forty eight the lower forty eight states. It's in Hawaii, it's in Alaska. So there are Christian radio operators, managers, programs that go everywhere, pretty much ubiquitous. What's encouraging is a recent research study by Pew and by the National Religious Broadcasters that indicated that Christian radio is Christian media rather is consumed by six out of ten Americans every week.

45:58 That's radio, pod cast, blogs, sermons. That's something and so I think that's reflective bill of why Christian radio isn't dead. There's a hunger for truth, big amount castle truth exactly as we offer truth grounded in God's word. I think the culture is ready for us living that out, not just proclaiming it, but living out the full Gospel, the truth and the grace and the love. As we do that, there's impact in their changed lives. John I Graham with you one hundred percent. And this is why to me, this is hallowed ground. This is something that God has given us, you know, this outlet, and we should be vigilant to pursue the truth no matter where it leads, that holds consistently with a biblical worldview.

46:49 And when things get askew, then it's okay for us to be fruit inspectors and to you know, raise caution to those entities that are purveyors of less than the truth. Yeah, for some you know, churches, some radio ministries, for some people engaged in the culture, there's kind of a guarding of the truth and they don't lead with truth, they lead with something else. And there's no judgment there here at focus on the family, we remain very committed to being biblically rooted and very clear about our Christian expression of faith. We are helping families thrive in Christ.

47:32 As Jim Daly has said, this is actually as doctor Dobson originated. We can bring people to have better relationships in the family and in their environment and in their community. But if we don't bring them to the author of relationships, the author of family, then we've only gotten them kind of temporary help. So we want to introduce people to Jesus as we've led very boldly with truth and being unashamed about it, even though that means that we believe in old fashioned things like a man and a woman make a family. That that is actually I think a calling card for the culture that says, what you can't just decide what you want. Actually, no, there's this foundational truth that life is built upon. We do best to follow the creator's design.

48:20 Well, you can choose what you want. You know, God loves us so much that he does allow us to make that choice. But here we are people of faith who've you know, been there, done it, bought the T shirt, paid the price, and we're saying, hey, you don't have to pay the price if you don't want to. But maybe you need to fall off the roof and realize that gravity still exists, right. Well there is. Yeah, this is one of the challenges for parenting is I think we've we've and I was guilty of this many years ago when our kids were younger, overly protecting them. You know, there was a point where we were coming in the house. One of my kids was up the tree in the front yard and I said, be careful up there, and my wife looked and said, what's the worst right, I mean, they'll fall and break something.

49:05 I mean that's gravity, as you said, so there is an element of us in family letting consequences roll. I think for us as believers, we do well to proclaim Jesus, to bring his claims to be the Son of God to those around us, to do that in a loving way. And that's really what a lot of our programming is about here at Focus. These days. We're talking about marriage, we're talking about family, but we're also just raising the conversation to incorporate difficult conversations in the culture, tackling difficult relationships, loving our neighbors well, even when they might think you're that person we want to be cognitively, you know, disorienting to them to say, wait a minute, I thought Christians were you know x y Z No, I'm just your neighbor. I'm a Christian and I care. As we try to equip the Saints to do that people come to Christ. Just in the past twelve months, our surveys tell us that one hundred and seventy three thousand people made decisions for Christ as a result of something God was doing through Focus on the Family, as one hundred and seventy three thousand commitments to Christ or rededications in one year. So we're finding people resonate with the messages we're proclaiming for the kingdom, and we're grateful for that kind of impact.

50:27 Well, John, I think sometimes what happens, particularly with Christians, is we think that we should be living the hunky dory, comfortable life. Jesus himself said, hey, get ready, you know, put on your crash alments, in your seat belt, slaves and gentlemen, it's going to be fun. And in so many words, that's Bill Martinez's words. I don't what translation is that again, Yeah. Right, exactly, yeah, yeah, that Bill Martinez Bill Martinez translation. But essentially that's what he said, get ready, It's not going to be all comfort. But you know, and I think that sometimes Christians we delude the message. You said something about, you know, it was critical that Jesus is the author of our faith. But the other thing to understand, he's not only the author, but he's the finisher. So what does that mean. When he's the finisher, that means that when you hit these areas of travail that he said you're going to hit, well, then go to the finisher, right, He's the one with the answers to get you through those tough times when you're dealing with you know, rebellious children, or maybe a marriage that's in crises, or you know an unexpected heartbreaker, you know, death in the family. You know, Christian persecution that's happening all the world around the world that we're seeing, you know, more and more is increasing ever so more. But it's amazing especially in those areas John you read about that there where Christian procution persecution is such a height. Also Christian conversion is at a height.

51:57 Yeah, and that's because people find that it almost like Peter said to Jesus, where else are we going to go? Exactly that you are life. And so in this Christian walk I've you know, I came to Christ at a time when it was very popular to just seal the deal, get in the kingdom, and in my youthfulness I thought cool. Life is going to be good now, and it is, but I somehow thought I was going to be insulated from challenges. And I just want to tell you back to the you know, the power of Christian radio, the presence of Christian radio where it's just on. I had a moment a few months ago. We were going through a really deep valley with an individual in our family hospitalized for three months and we didn't know if we were going to get him back or not. It was it was the hardest time, the really hardest time we've ever gone through as a family. And I spent many a day just crying with the Lord and pleading on this boy's behalf. And there was a day when I had to come into work. I got to come into work and I had the Christian radio on. Chuck Swindall is on and he's talking about suffering this passage and first Corinthians were or Second Corinthians, I guess where Paul is talking about this thorn that was given to him. Yes, and I got something from that short little bit of message from Chuck Swindahll. I got to work, I had to stop the car. I came in and that little nugget carried me through the day. It was perfect. What was a long day. I got back in the car, and sure enough, Chuck Swindall was back on the radio.

53:26 They heared him a second time, and I picked up just about where I had left off, and that was a whole nother message for me. It was a. Continuation of his sermon. But the radio was on and I wasn't searching for this, but God just drove this message into me. And I was two miles away from my home at a red light, sobbing with the Lord, saying I accept. Because Chuck was saying, if suffering is the path, why do we run from it? And so I guess just to put a loop on all that, if suffering is the path for us as believers, and if nobody in this life can avoid suffering, why don't we live that well with joy, with confidence in God, with an eye on Heaven, not on this temporal place, and say He's going to power me through this through his spirit. I'm gonna make it. I embraced suffering in that moment, and it's made me a better man. It's given me a richer testimony, and it's given me an ability to relate to people around me who are going through far worse things than a child in the hospital.

54:33 They're going through the loss of life, They're going through a child they can't talk to, they're going through a spouse that is cold, and every day is just a pain point. So as we live out the gospel and as we offer confidence in Christ, I think the world is watching and they're waiting for us to say this is the way. He's the way, the truth and the life. Well, John, the Bible talks about a word aptly spoken, right, and this is what Christian radio does. It puts out words aptly spoken that goes out to find its mate. For you that day, that moment Chuck Swindall gave out that word and it found its mate in your heart. It was God's bomb of Gilead, especially for you and your family and for those that you've carried that message forward and sharing your testimony that and it's amazing. This is the beauty of Christian radio is that word multiplies itself, right.

55:30 It does, yes, And you know, there are so many good people in Christian radio and in Christian ministries. You know, we get a chance to talk to about one hundred and thirty five hundred and forty different people a year in our studio, and every time we're in the studio getting ready to have that conversation with the guest about whatever it is they're talking about, kids and emotions, a cold marriage, loss of a parent, whatever it is, we pray, because we believe there's something sacred going on in the conversation, that there will be ministry here in this studio and for those nearby. And then when this airs on any number of outlets around the world, or on podcasts or YouTube or however people listen. Whatever that point is, we believe God will speak in it and through it to meet needs and time and again he blesses that effort.

56:25 It's not us. It's not us. We're trying to be faithful and to do what we can with what He's given us to do. But any impact like that, that's the Lord's doing, and we're grateful that he does so much. Real quick story, we had a listener who said, I'm calling you because I got in my car to make a really important phone call. I accidentally turned on the radio and there you guys were talking about the importance of trying to stay together if you're thinking about getting divorced. While I was going to my car to call my divorce attorney, and I heard you, and so I did call him. I heard your phone number, so what should I do. So that's the power of the presence and the Lord speaking through a tool to reach a heart just where that woman needed it. So presumably she didn't go through at the divorce. And there's generational impact as a result of staying together. Not that it was all honkey dory perfect, but in the grid of life we developed that faith in God and generations get touched well.

I mean, actually the true story is he buys me lunch in California and then I stand him up. On the following weekend, I confess I throw myself on the mercy of the court. 59:31 Yeah, I've heard that before. Yeah, throw clink, I get. It right, exactly. Please get that well. I'll tell you. As spiritual grows, I should say, a speculation grows about a spiritual awakening amongst young Americans following the September twenty twenty five assassination of our friend Charlie Kirk. A new research from you and the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University is finding that gen Z is moving in two opposite spiritual directions at the same time. What's going on here, George. Well, you know, I mean, people often change in this manner. There's some good things that happen in their life. There's some, you know, not so good things that they move toward.

1:00:15 And so that's what we're seeing with this particular generation. First of all, we got to remember that when we talk about all these changes that are taking place in the beliefs and behaviors. Of that group. Every behavior or belief change that we're talking about isn't experienced by every person in that generation. Most of them experience one or two of these, not the whole shooting range. So we've got to keep that in mind. But then also when we look at the big picture, we stand back and say, Okay, is this a generation that's in the beginning stages of revival. I don't think so. It certainly doesn't look that way. Now. There's some good things that are going on, but as I mentioned, there's some counterbalancing things too, So to me, it kind of looks like business as usual. We've seen no change in the worldview of that particular generation over the last year or two, and so they remain the lowest of all the generations in terms of having a biblical worldview. But in defense of that group, you've got to recognize also that it took them years to develop exaceral view, and so if they're going to change it, that's going to take years as well. So maybe we just need to be more patient.

1:01:33 Well exactly, well, you know, I keep reminding people we're of the microwave generation. We stand in front of a microwave and yell her rap, you know. And and of course I think in this case, for all the right reasons, we want to think optimistically. You know, that God is moving. We see responses. You know, you've heard me talk about this. I say, you know, evidence of you know, bonfires, I say, bonfires of revival maybe here and there, you know kind of thing. But they're just not It doesn't seem to be that one catalytic event that brings them all together. And as you said, and rightfully so. And that's what I remind people as well, is that, you know, especially the last five years of their educational life, they've been indoctrinated to believe something that you know that a lot of people in mainstream America are trying to understand, you know, what's going on with our kids? What happened to our kids? Right?

1:02:24 Yeah, And you know, you talk about a catalytic event, and so a lot of people were saying, oh, the murder of Charlie Kirk would be that, right, because immediately after that we heard all these reports about, oh, Bible sales are breaking records and a lot more people are flocking back to church. So we actually did a piece of research, and that's in this report here where we look at four months before Charlie was murdered and four months after he was murdered, what happened. And with this generation gen Z in particular, what we see is, yeah, there were some changes. On balance, they actually moved farther away from Christianity than closer to it, So I don't think we can say that that was probably the catalytic event.

1:03:09 We did see that church attendance went up. We saw that more of them were willing to call themselves Christian. We saw that more of them said, well, I'd be willing to read the Bible, and they would do it occasionally, but there wasn't a concerted effort. There wasn't a consistent effort to do that. And then with their beliefs, and beliefs are important because you do what you believe, so you've got beliefs preceding behavior. When we look at the changes in belief what we see is that they've moved closer to socialism than capitalism. They've moved farther away from believing absolute moral truth exists. They've moved more towards saying that they believed Jesus Christ's sinned while he was on earth.

1:03:57 You know, they've moved more towards saying that you can earn your way into heaven. So you know, you look at those things, you say, yeah, that doesn't sound like revival. To me, right, exactly. Well, and Corer, you know to all that you've been doing in your research is biblical worldview, and as you said, it's stuck at one percent. I mean when I saw that number, George, I was surprised. I thought, oh, come on, give me a tick at least, you know, right. Yeah, I mean that's what we were looking for. It's like, come on, show some positive movement. The president of Arizona Christian you know, I work closely with her, he said, George, before you retire, before you leave, we want to make sure that you see some positive growth in all of this.

1:04:38 You know. So I guess I'm going to be there a bit longer because you know we're not seeing it yet. Well but just what, Well, when you get to heaven, they'll be positive growth. Absolutely, they'll be rocket's redglaar. Right. Yeah. You know. The other reality is once we get to have and we're not going to care about all this. We're going to be focused on God and Jesus, and you know, it's like, hallelujah, I've made it. I'm here, Let me enjoy it, let me glorify you this as a vacation. Yeah, exactly, because like I said, there's you know, when you get to have it and there's no fussing or fighting, you are in the midst of truth, right You're surrounding your bait, and truth is like, oh my goodness, you know, well, how did I miss this? You know, and all those things that are attached to our humanness will fade away, thank God, because of God's glory. And can't wait right because all this fussing that we do right now, what a waste of time and energy and humanity and a degradation of God's Creation's that's what makes me sad. Is I see these kids today that they're wasting precious time.

Last night I turned in the final manuscript for my next book, and it looks at what we call the seven cornerstones of the Biblical worldview, kind of breaks the down and talks about what can you do to really embrace this And one of the things that struck me after going through the entire manuscript re editing it is. You know, we put so much energy into so many things that don't matter at all, And if we just realize that the only reason we're here is to no love and serve God with all our heart, mind, strength, and soul every moment of every day. And if we simply did that, and I'm not trying to be naive, I know they're going to be the troubles of the world.

1:06:21 We're in a spiritual war. I get all that, but sometimes we lose sight of the big picture, which is that ultimately we were made by God for him. Ultimately, if we confess our sins repent except Christ as our savior, we're going to return to Him and enjoy Him. And that's all that's going to matter. So all this other stuff that's driving us nuts every day we're not going to remember, We're not going to care about, and it's not going to matter. So let's get a jump on it and say, hey, you know what, let me figure out it doesn't matter now and just start focusing on the glue glory of God and doing things that will bring honor and pleasure to Him. And He's going to bless me for that and everybody's going to be happy.

And George, the thing is is that even on an individual basis, it is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding that you now you get the key and you get to open the lock to God's peace when you do that, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so it's really an issue of priorities. What matters most to me, I think sometimes when I get all wound up in my daily travails, the issue is that I have prioritized the things that seem important in this life rather than prioritizing the things that. Are important to God. And so if I'm really going to be a disciple of Jesus, I need to have the mind of Christ, and I need to do everything that pursues and strengthens that.

1:07:56 Jesus didn't get caught up and all that stuff, you know, or along every day. He dealt with the day as it came to him. But somehow he maintained that focus on heavenly and internal things. And that's what each of us who's trying to be a disciple of Jesus needs to keep in mind. I've got to have that same focus that Jesus had. He told us it's possible to do. He told us it's not easy to do. We know that Satan doesn't want us to do it, so we're going to make our choices appropriately. Exactly, got to go to quick break more from Doctor George after this. 1:13:03 And we're back with you Bill Martinez with doctor George Barna. Yes, the one and only and even infamous some say, and I second that emotion. He's the director of research at Arizona Christian University's Cultural Research Center, the author of Raising Spiritual Champions, and we're talking about his latest installment, gen Z moving toward faith and away from it at the same time. It's interesting, you know, and I think it's endemic of the human experience. You get that push pull kind of dynamic going on. By the way, this is the third report in the twenty twenty six America's Worldview Inventory, which is I guess going to lead to your new book soon to be coming out. You know that again is going to remind us of all these things that you've learned. I mean, George, this has been you know, decades of work in research. And in fact, I was just bragging about you to a friend this morning. You know, he said, what are you going to do? I go, well, I got an interview with doctor George Barna.

He's just become such a dear friend and he's helped me so much because when I came out of Bible College, you know, the idea of a biblical worldview, he was the only one that was talking about it, and it just it just really wrung with me. It just it's just so connected in my heart. And it also was confirmed when God said, hey, I want you to talk about that. I want you to talk about my truth and I want you to talk about biblical worldview. And look what happens. He puts us two knuckleheads together and we've been joined at the hip ever since. And you know, and we've and we've almost made it to the FBI's you know, most wanted. Well, you know, heaven's getting a knucklehead sandwich today, I'll tell you that. But you know, it's. Interesting, yeah, because when I think back about biblical worldview, you say, I was the only one talking about Well, when I came to christ after a couple of years working in the research industry, I was hired by a Christian ministry to do research for them, and so I built up their department doing that and marketing and whatnot.

1:14:58 And when I came into the organization, they had meetings with me for a couple of weeks, and they pretty quickly realized this guy doesn't know anything, and so they sent me back to Washington, d C. Where the National Religious Broadcasters annual event was their convention. This was back in nineteen eighty two, I mean eons ago, and I didn't know anybody in the Christian world because I was a new Christian, didn't know the lingo, didn't know squat, and so I said, well, I guess I should go to the keynote sessions. Well, the keynote sessions were Chuck Colson, Charles Stanley, and Francis Schaeffer. It's like, you know, the pantheon of living worldview biblical worldview thinkers, and they all talked about biblical worldview, which is a phrase I'd never even heard, and so I was just stunned and overwhelmed by what they did. And the last session was doctor Schaefer's session, and on the way out, his publisher, Crossway Books, gave everybody a free copy of his new book at that time, called a Christian Manifesto.

1:16:08 And I stayed up till two or. Three that morning reading that whole book, and then woke up the next morning started rereading it because I didn't understand half of it, you know, But I mean that was for me what got me on that trail. So you know, we always stand on the shoulder of giants who came before us, as they did as well, you know. So if I have the ability to open anybody's eyes and ears and heart to this notion of biblical worldview, which simply means you got to think like Jesus so that you can live like Jesus, which is what being a disciple is, and that's what we're called to do while we're on earth. So I mean, it's one big circle that we're trying to move people into. But yeah, I mean, what a great introduction I had to the whole process. And I hope people get to read their works as well, because there's so seminole. Chuck Colson wrote great books about worldview. Francis Schaeffer wrote, eye opening, you know, mind blowing stuff about worldview. And I'm like a pop worldview guy, you know, I take it and bring it down to the what was branches because that's all I can understand. But you know, I mean, we've all got to get in the entry somehow and then start making progress down that pathway to thinking like Jesus.

1:17:25 Well, as you said, thinking and being like Jesus, and as you were saying earlier to me, the thing that consistently sticks out is that the first thing Jesus did. It's always first things, right, you got it starts with first things. What was the first thing that Jesus did? Right? Yeah, for sure? I mean you know he starts, well, first the first thing he did. I'm not sure what you were going to say. What I would say is once he got into ministry, he started building relationships, right, you know, because if you're going to make disciples, they've got to know you, they've got to trust you, they've got to spend time with you. That's what relationships are about, you know. And then he started engaging in showing them a different lifestyle. Now they're intrigued, and so then they start asking questions then you have the conversations and he has the opportunity to start teaching them.

1:18:20 He didn't just jump in and say all right, here's truth. No, I mean, there was a lot of foundation that he laid before he got into that. What I was going to say was that he got away and prayed. First thing before he started into ministry. Yeah. Absolutely, he had to have his foundation right. Right, and his source was the Father. You know. The Father is the source, the source of truth, and the one who gives us wisdom, that gives it to us, you know, without any sense of rejection and compromise. You know, if we asked for it, he'll give it to us. But you see, we're not asking. And I think that's one of the other challenges that we have. We, you know, in the process of building a relationship not only as you say, horizontally, but we have to build the relationship vertically with God. And when you as you do, then you get to ask some of these questions that probably here to before you thought, oh my god, if I asked that question, he's going to kill me.

1:19:17 You know, absolutely, you know. And one of the things that I think we learn over the course of time and experience is that you know, we we think we're pretty together, we're pretty good. You know, we're doing fine. But with time and experience with God and in His word, what you come to see is that I have no power except that which God gives me. I have no wisdom accept that which God gives me. And what he gives me he didn't give to me for me. He gave it to me so I could be a blessing to other people. Principle. So yeah, I mean, the deeper we get into this and you don't have to go too deep to real life those things. But the deeper and deeper you go, the more you realize, yeah, it's not about me. I'm just a conduit. I'm a vessel that God wants to use to impact the lives of other people, just like other people allowed Him to use them so that I could come to him. So that's how the family of God.

1:20:19 Grows, Right, George, I got to tell you there were several surprises in this latest report. One of them that got my attention right away was this five point increase in weekly church attendance since May of twenty twenty five, alongside an eighteen point increase in the belief that Jesus Christ sinned while on earth. Who told them that. Well, I'm not sure they're actually listening, or maybe they're going to the wrong places. But I mean, there's this whole thing where people walk into the church with a full slate of religious beliefs. It's not like. They're coming in in a vacuum or as a blank slate.

1:21:03 That slate has already been written all over. And so if they come to church often what happens, we found is they're looking for confirmation for. What they already believed. And if they don't hear anything about what they already believed, they just keep on believing what they were believing, right, And so they walk into the church with these kinds of beliefs. You know, at the same time that there was an eighteen point increase in thinking Jesus in there was an eighteen point increase in thinking there's no such thing as absolute moral truth, you know, a fifteen point increase in thinking I have to earn my way into heaven if it exists, and if I'm going. To go there.

1:21:44 So there's a lot of garbage that people walk into the church believing and thinking that the guy up front behind the podium is magically going to attack and persuade these people to think differently. Is not a good probability. And that's why each of us building relationships with these people coming in is so critical because we can talk to them about what they believe, find it out, and dig deeper into it with them, and then we have the opportunity to bring the change into their belief system that they so desperately need. Well, Doctor George, as we wrap things up on to remind everybody, he's the director of research at Arizona Christian Universities Cultural Research Center, author of Brazing Spiritual Champions, new book.

I've always maintained that being a military, being a Marine myself, that this is a most hallowed day for anybody that's served in the military, for the families associated, and primarily for those that went before us and paid the ultimate price. Right. You're exactly right, Bill. In this nation we have a solemn promise to those that go and fight and defend our away a life in our freedoms that no one has left behind, and if someone in combat, we make sure we return them to their families. That includes their stories and their legacy and their memory. I think that on a moral day, it's a perfect time for us to pause, reflect to remember that memory and that legacy.

1:29:12 Well as some of us might remember from history, the poppy has been a part and associated as remembrance of the fallen for well over one hundred years. And here we are about to celebrate our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary. Our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary doesn't happen without the sacrifice of the million plus men and women of the military that paid that price. Right, You're absolutely right, Bill. And here at the USAA Poppy Wall of Honor, we have over six hundred and forty six thousand poppies that are in this poppy wall behind me. That's there to represent the over six hundred and forty six thousand service members that we've lost in combat since World War One. And here, if you come to visit, you really truly get to understand the weight and the gravity of what that sacrifice and service means.

1:30:05 What a hallowed walk, you know, to go buy this, I mean, we're seeing pictures of this on screen, and this is majestic and I think it's also I mean, in your sensing is that people are walking by, they do so with honor and respect. There seems to be and maybe I'm over emphasizing this, but there just seems to be a you know, a quietness about it, a solemnity. Is that fair to say? It's very fair to say, Bill, it you know, it evokes that type of feeling and emotion. You know, the gravity and the weight as I was describing a minute ago certainly comes through. And in flanders Field is a poem that was written after World War One. A soldier was burying a good friend at the end of World War One and he was able to recognize all the poppies that were growing across flanders Field, on the cemetery and across all the grave sites, and he put that into poem and that poem became popular, and that's how the poppy became a popular symbol to recognize that loss.

1:31:13 You know, every time I hear that poem, I cannot help tears will just you know, come out of my eyes. I mean they just rolled down my face because it's so poignant, isn't it? It is? Bill? And you know, yourself, being a marine and a fellow service member. You understand that weight, and you understand what loss is and and it it's heavy on you. And it's good for us to have these moments in these days together that we remember those that we've lost. Yeah, and this is so important, as you say, James, that we that we share it with our family members. I mean, the tradition must be carried forward and we must honor the fallen and remember that freedom is not free.

1:31:59 That comes with a price. You're absolutely right, And no one is truly lost until they're forgotten. And if we can keep their memories alive and keep their legacy alive with all of us, you know, then that sacrifice will be honored and understood. And that is what we're doing across Memorial Day in this country. Many people will view this as the official beginning of summer and are going to want to have barbecues and surround themselves with family. That's a good and necessary thing. But while we do that, I asked that we take a moment and reflect and remember those that have paid that sacrifice. We're talking to James Hone, who retired US Navy leader currently serves as a senior policy advisor at USAA retired after nearly thirty eight years of military service, including serving as the sixteenth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy.

1:32:55 What a career, James. I mean, you look back on that, and I'm sure you have to be proud of your you know of your experience, your accomplishment and service to our country. And I say, thank you for your service. I appreciate that, Bill, And you understand, as being a prior service member and a Marine yourself, that it's it's an honor to serve. Yes, it's a privilege. And in the men and women that I was able to serve with all those years is why we do it. And I look back on those thirty eight years with nothing but fondness and respect and gratitude.

I had a colonel that I met at a Laying of the Reef ceremony last year, and somebody had come up to him and said, thank you for your service, and it's very kind of people to remember that and say. But I loved his response, James, and I shared it with all my military brothers and sisters I speak with. His response was perfect, and I said, I'm going to steal that response. He said, I did it for you. Exactly. You deserve it. That's what I like to tell fellow Americans that thank me for my services, because you deserve it. Yeah, I mean think about that. You deserve it. And it's humbling in so many ways. And if people can really gather that, I know, there seems to be more and more conversation these days. You know that only about one percent of our population serves in the military. And you know, I think that whenever anything positive happens in your life, you want to share it with other people.

1:34:35 And I think, oh wow, you know for the other ninety nine people. You know, my experience in the Marine Corps was absolutely incredible, just as yours was in the Navy. I mean the things that you learned along the way, the people that you met, and friends that you were able to make along the way as well. I mean, where else but the military could you possibly experience something so exceptional. You're absolutely right that one percent that serve are exceptional. Uh. They are the finest men and women that this country has. And uh, it's incredibly humbling that the people that you get to serve with, uh, And uh, I'm with you.

1:35:16 It was. It was tremendous. Yeah, you know, you touched a little bit on some simple ways that people can honor the Military Memorial Day this year. And you know, and I say, anytime you can get the family involved, get the young kids involved. I mean, it's amazing you watch them whenever the stories of you know, military accomplishments the history of our country, their eyes lighten light up, you know. And even though there is you know, some controversy over you know, the military and action at times, but it's okay. It's it's part of the rich tapestry of our history, isn't it. It certainly is. And I agree with you. We should involve the youth of this nation and make sure they understand and it sparked their imagination and let them understand, you know, what this means. And this is a perfect way to do that. On this weekend, come down here to the National Mall in Washington, DC. And I know I'm biased. After thirty eight years of the Navy, I went and visited capital cities all over the world. We have no finer and more beautiful city than Washington, d C.

He's a decorated Vietnam a combat vet and Purple Heart recipient. We're grateful for your service, Bill, you know, and I like it. I was. I met a colonel at a wathlaying ceremony last year. You might appreciate this. And people who often say, you know, with me being a marine, I served during Vietnam States, but you know, people will say, hey, thank you, you know, thank you for your service. And he had the best line I've heard so far. He said he tells people when they say that, he goes, you know, I did it for you.

I said, I'm going to steal that, and I try to remember that as often as I can, because you know, when it comes down to it, Bills, you know, that's what we did. We did it. We did it for We did it for them. Uh, you know, all colors, black and white. You know, we didn't sit there and say, oh, we're still gonna do it for the white folk. I mean, we did it for Americans, right. Yes, we did. And you know we all bleed the same color regardless of our outside color. And thank you, Bill Martinez, and welcome home from a fellow Vietnam vet. And you know I always have with me my DD two fourteen, right, because I'm always on fire. I carry you with me actually, because I'm always on fire about stolen valor, like something like US Senator Richard Blumenthal.

1:44:44 Oh my gosh, yes, and many others. And you got Governor Waltz. Governor Waltz is yeah, yeah, yeah. It goes on and on. It's like, but put on your big boy pants and just don't lie about your military service and show us, you know, give me your DD two fourteen. I'll tell us everything. And you know, I wear my Vietnam pin on my lapel every day to remember those sisters and brothers who never made it home. And I'm privileged, you know. I volunteered to go in and then I was gloriously transformed by the power of Jesus after I was in the Navy, which I call the Junior Marines. After I was in the Navy after a year, and I was gloriously converted to Jesus by one of the Jesus freaks there in southern California. And then two weeks later God told me to go over and fight in Vietnam. So I volunteered twice. And I'm happy. My line is, I was grateful to shed my blood to provide freedom for all of US Americans. So it's not every day you meet somebody who has shed blood in order to secure the freedom. And of course those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, those sisters and brothers that we now will memorialize again on this coming Monday, on Memorial Day. So, brother Bill, thanks so much for bringing attention to that, and I was happy to serve. I spent four of the best years of my life on the USS boss Cel DD

1:46:17 eight forty five that was forward deployed out of Yukoska, Japan, and we spent a lot of time throwing bombs over there in Vietnam. And so I'm grateful to be home. Five great kids, all married, all love Jesus, and we're expecting grandchild number fourteen here on August twenty twenty six. Yeah. And I have two Nigerian granddaughters and I have a Nigerian daughter that we adopted. Their parents were sadly murdered and beheaded by Boko Haram. So I am a full time pastor to the persecuted church. I go to fifteen countries in Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia, and I care I pastor, the persecuted church and all these fifteen countries.

1:47:05 Think of Nigeria, Northern Nigeria, Sudan, Egypt, Gozas, Syria, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan, Sri Lanka. Those are some of the places that I. Go, Well, Bill, and you're a testimony here in your travels to these persecuted areas, and you're seeing the church grow in the midst of persecution. God has a way of reversing the plans of the evil one, thinking he's going to ultimately destroy, you know, his creation, and God says, okay, you know, have at it. And meanwhile, you know, the church is expanding and people are coming to Christ in record numbers.

1:47:47 Yeah. And you know I always say Jesus is all about addition and multiplication, and that's God's mathematics. Well, I say to people, you know, Satan has mathematics too. It's called subtraction and division. So you know, when you think, what's amazing to me is that the addition sign is in the you know, the shape of a cross ross. I was going to say, exactly as is. The multiplication sign. And yet the subtraction sign is only it's not the complete cross. So I am privileged to be over there to minister and pastor the persecuted church in these fifteen countries. God gave me that idea fourteen years ago. I was pastoring a big church in Manhattan, New York City. Who wouldn't want a pastor in New York City?

1:48:37 Right? And God just used three words God, Gospel, and good News. And God said, take the first two letters of those three words, GoGG o, go, go go. And I said, Lord, where do you want me to go? And the Lord said, go to the persecuted church, Go to the broken, the neglected, the forgotten, the dispossessed, the disenfranchise, the persecute church. And I've done now, over the last fourteen years, three hundred mission trips, give or take a few to these persecuted Christians, brothers and sisters. And you know what's sad, Bill is I'm the only one that does it. You know, you would think that there would be a ton of pastors.

1:49:20 But when I ask pastors to come with me to Iraq, you know what they say. They always say, is it's safe. And I say to them, the call of Jesus never gives provision for safety. Security, or comfort. We're warriors. You know. I learned how to be a warrior in Vietnam, and that's I was a baby Christian. I arrived there about a month old than the Lord. And there were two hundred and fifty enlisted in officers on my ship, and there were only two believers there, me and brother Smitty, a petty officer first class Bostin's may we are the only two believers. I'm this on this ship. And we were mocked, we were ridiculed, you know, Holy Joe all that.

1:50:06 But you know that persecution, so to speak, Bill, really it stealed my spine. And now here I am, fifty five years later, still being a warrior for the Lord Jesus Christ and pastoring the persecuted church. Amed well, God bless you. You know. Could you imagine Jesus asking the Father when the Father says you must go to the cross, that Jesus would say, is it safe? Yes? Exactly? Yeah. So I you know, I'm always about beating up my fellow pastors, like, hey, you get out a plane and you fly all the way to Tel Aviv, Israel, because I want to walk where Jesus walked, Okay, Or you want to go and visit to seven churches of the Revelation in Turkea. And I said, look, the flight to Nigeria is much shorter from JFK to Abousha, Nigeria. Come with me and visit the persecuted church. And you know they'd rather run to Israel on a big tour and instead of going to the persecuted church. So I'm always challenging and calling my fellow brother pastors to a deeper level of commitment to the persecuted church. You know, we don't like to hear about the persecuted church. It's I do a lot of weeping when I'm over there. I just got in from northern Nigeria attempting to rescue eight children from an Islamist orphanage. They were kidnapped six years ago.

1:51:31 So you know, you meet with women who have seen their husbands be headed in front of them simply because they love Jesus, their children cut in half by Boko Haram or Islamic State West Africa Province. So but you know, it doesn't seem that my fellow pastors want to go with me. They'll fly to Israel, they'll fly to Turkey, but you won't come to Iraq. You won't come to Nigeria. You won't go to Egypt or Sudan to weep with those who weep. And you know, Esis said, as you did it unto the least of these, you did it unto me. So come with me. But that's what Jesus has called to.

1:52:19 Do, right and the deal that would happen. I got to imagine for you, especially the first time that you went to Nigeria, what did that do for your faith? It actually strengthened my faith. And I've been twenty times to Nigeria in the last five years. I started to go and my first trip was in October of twenty twenty and then I traveled there about five times during the midst of COVID. Don't ask me how I got in. It was the Lord, but it really you know, when you're there seeing the suffering of our brothers and sisters. You know, families that have had their church burned down, families that widows that have had their houses burned down, their homes burned down. You know, I was just with Northern Nigerian Plateau State in Zeka village where the Fulani Jihannas Islamis came in and killed over fifty people. That one of the mothers two of her children were cut in half with a machete and they went to place the machete on top of her head. She went like this and they cut her right hand off. I was able to get a reprosthesis through the Red Cross. But you know, when you go there and you see the suffering of our sisters and brothers there, it really breaks your heart. And for me, brother Bill, it stimulated me to continue to return to them in order to love them and to and this is important to say to them, the Church in America, the Church in the West, has not forgotten you everything that we enjoin America today because

1:53:53 the time they come where you know, as people greater than I have said, freedom is never free. We're only one generation away from total chaos and anarchies. So we have to continue the fight. And part of that fight that families can do. Moms and dads bring yourselves and bring your children, whatever their ages are go as a family, and remember those who gave all a man. Over a million, people, bill over a million, and all the wars combined have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms that we enjoy today. We are a grateful nation and this is an opportunity to remember them. Be grateful again, and not only for them, but they're families that to this day, you know, carry the weight and that missing part of their lives for somebody that paid the price for our freedoms.
